An Embrace Everlasting

"I love you so much!" I told the Lord recently, as though He hasn't heard this over and again from me. But this time was a little different, for I had something to add. "I wish I could give you a great big God hug!"

Of course my arms would never be wide enough, but I suppose it's the thought that counts, right? Not only would my arms not be wide enough, but how could I ever give God a big enough hug to describe the degree to which I love Him?

As I wrote these thoughts to the Lord in my "God's N...

Be Still and Know What? Devotional

There is something about a dog, most especially in 90-degree weather, wherein he or she is perfectly comfortable and content with the idea of being still. Pant, pant. The dog knows just how to enjoy a glorious sunny day. The dog has no trouble whatsoever calling off all other activities to enjoy the peace and quiet. He or she will not move until it is time for the next activity, and sometimes in a dog's mind that is such a very long way off. Leave it to a human, however, to spend as much time...

Make $50 Per Hour - Satan's Bait

Oh, the words had such appeal. So enticing. So luring. I was cruising around the Internet, looking for ideas and resources for my next step forward in Walk by Faith Ministry's publishing endeavors. And there it was. The words. $50 per hour - WRITING. Per hour? That's right. Per hour. Maybe that's not so big for somebody else, but that's huge for me. After all, my annual regular income is $9000. I cannot even fathom making $50 per hour doing something I love to do as much as I love to write. T...

My Home Office - Life Out of the Box

If you think I sit in a corporate office dressed up in a suit and pumps, surrounded by my staff and volunteers, waiting for my next paycheck, think again. A dear friend who came today to visit the 16 mostly special needs and senior rescued dogs of Walk by Faith Ministry, took this photo of me sitting in my home office where I do most of my inspirational writing and lots more. Paralyzed dog Mr. Simeon and disabled dog Little Miss Miracles hang out on the other side of the room, with occasional...

Chains, Fetters, Naked, Tombs, and Devils

Chains. Fetters. Naked. Tombs. Devils. Living naked in the tombs, chained in utter bondage, tormented by devils. Could it be any worse? Talk about hell on earth. And it's an entirely true story. Can you imagine the awe, the astonishment, and the rejoicing the man experienced when Jesus Christ set him free from it all? The man who had been tormented, and inhabited, by a bunch of devils who called themselves Legion, could think of no greater way to celebrate, and to live, once he was free than...

The Most Precious Gift

Do you welcome spending time daily in the presence of the Lord, or are you too busy, bored, distracted, afraid, etc. to spend time with Him? When Jesus returned from the country of the Gadarenes where He had cast many devils out of a man whom not a single human being had been able to help, do you know how the people responded to Him? They welcomed Him. They had been waiting for Him. He obviously was their priority and their focus. No matter what else was going on in their lives, they saw fit...

An Awesome Revelation - Are You Pressing In?

Sometimes big messages come in small things. And sometimes seemingly insignificant words and descriptions that seem nothing more than little pieces of a story can contain powerful revelation and thought-provoking, not to mention convicting, ideas. Such is the case with a scripture in the Bible I have skipped over countless times in my usual scurrying ahead to get to the "meat" of a matter. Yes, admittedly, I am someone who prefers typically to cut to the chase. How much I miss! Like this.

How...

Do You Need a Push?

So much for my doctor's appointment, not that I was altogether excited about going to the dermatologist to more than likely be told I should amp up the sunscreen when I love getting a tan. But instead of the quick errand I planned to run on the way to the doctor to pick up a loving donation of homemade belly bands to hold paralyzed dog Mr. Simeon's diapers in place, I found myself smack dab in the middle of an intersection waiting (and trying) to make a left turn - broken down.

This was my fir...

Quit Drinking Puddles

"Mr. Simeon, quit drinking the puddles," I demanded as I dragged the forever-long-eared, paralyzed hound of a character of a rescued dog along in his wheelchair straight to the water bowls so he could imbibe on the real thing. " Why do all you dogs have to keep doing what you know you're not supposed to do ?" I whined, murmured, moaned, and complained as I find myself doing on far too much of a basis. Leave it to the 16 mostly special needs and senior rescued dogs of Walk by Faith Ministry to k...

Where Have All the Humans Gone?

When I received a telephone call this morning from a computer - a female computer, mind you - it wasn't a big surprise. Computers have done their best to take over the world, haven't they? But this one was a first. This female computer - who had probably just finished her third cup of coffee for the morning while sitting in her home office with her feet kicked up on her overcrowded desk - had something to say for herself, alright. She informed my voice mail (who doesn't drink coffee anymore)...
