You've Got Sweet Feet

You've got sweet feet. The words just flew out of my mouth, and I just stared at the words as I have been so often known to do. I have always had a way with words. I suppose it goes with the territory of being called by God to preach and write. But, of course, my words have extraordinarily often come literally flying out of my mouth with me regarding their aftermath with utter - surprise? Disgust? Laughter? Shock? Suffice it to say I have been known to use words far too often for reasons othe...

Believing God's Love for You......

“We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us…” 1 John 4:16
Why do you think the Bible talks about KNOWING God’s love AND BELIEVING God’s love? Because you are not the only one in the world who may know about God’s love but have trouble believing it is for you. Just because you know ABOUT His love doesn’t mean you believe His love is for you. But God wants you to both KNOW and BELIEVE His love.

Does God REALLY Love You?

If there is anything in the world I have discovered when it comes to those of us who have been broken in any way, it is that it can seem impossible to truly believe that God really loves us. No matter how many times people tell us, “God loves you,” how can we really believe it?

Disabled Dog Reminder - Don't Forget to Smile

Argh. Ugh. Enough already. Just when I could think of the umpteenth reason to lose my temper in a morning jam packed with irritations - such as finding the 15.5 year old terrier in my care hobbling-running back covered in mud from next to the highway after digging himself out of the yard - I remember to smile. Somehow, by God's grace alone in fact, I have managed to hold my temper at bay - so far anyway. And when I finally plunk down on my bed after a morning trying to get 16 mostly special n...

P is for Perseverance - Got It?

"Father, please help me with my writing," I prayed as I walked inside with my laptop after drenching myself in sweat as I sat in the incredibly hot sun and tapped away at my laptop keyboard in a futile attempt to write an inspirational piece for today.

photo courtesy of step3711 via pixabay.com"Don't quit, keep trying," the Lord spoke into my heart - to my total surprise. After all, I figured He would either toss a bunch of writing down from heaven to answer my prayer or tell me to throw in th...

Quit Pointing Out My Faults

Oh, how easy it would be for me to tell God to quit pointing out my faults. How easy it would be to tell Him to quit picking on me. How easy it would be to tell Him to leave me alone already and go point out somebody else's. How easy it would be to tell Him to JUST LEAVE ME ALONE. Why doesn't He ever quit picking on me? I could moan and complain. And I have done much of that whining - in the past. I have yet to meet anyone who is convicted as quickly, and as often, about one's sins as I am by...

Doing YOUR Part with YOUR Gifts - ARE YOU?

Okay, here comes a confession. Sometimes I get so frustrated and so restless and so impatient in my desire to love and serve the Lord that I start wondering if I'm supposed to jump on a plane one day and move to Africa to start an orphanage, or dive head first into partnering with a sex trafficking ministry, or start becoming like this person or that person or some ministry a zillion miles away. Honestly? That's not all. Sometimes I even become envious of others and their seemingly great succ...

Remembering the Forgotten - A Challenge to You

When I think about my time this past Sunday taking paralyzed dogs Mr. Simeon and Miss Mercy to the weekly outreach for the homeless and others in need, I cannot help but think how important it is to remember the forgotten.

As a woman who was abandoned by her family for speaking out about being sexually abused as a child, and subsequently abandoned by two husbands, I know the utter grief of feeling forgotten. So when I walk through the usual Sunday crowd of homeless people and others in need se...

Paralyzed Dogs Visit Homeless Outreach

Paralyzed dogs Miss Mercy and Mr. Simeon of Walk by Faith Ministry were delighted on Sunday to pay a visit to the outreach I attend on Sundays for homeless people and others in need. As the crowd gathered to hear pastor Samuel of People Helping People preach before the big meal and clothing giveaway, Miss Mercy and Mr. Simeon made their rounds to enjoy plenty of love and affection from the people. I am blessed, honored, and privileged on Sundays to gather with People Helping People and numero...
