Enter Cordelia
The name Cordelia elicits one of three responses from the people that I’ve met.
They are taken to the heroine in Shakespeare’s King Lear. They remember the bad girl of Buffy the Vampire Slayer turned good girl of Angel, Cordelia Chase.* They just stare at me wondering why we chose that name. For us, the name now means our cat, Cordelia, who is the slayer of bugs and toilet paper. It fits because of the possible French origin of the name, “coeur de lion,” meaning heart of a lion. She hunts t...

Read Shutter Step for Free!
I love it when I can give you something for free. (Hopefully you do, too…)
Several months ago, I was talking with my very favorite writer boo, CM Niles. I said, “CM, we need to write something.” Okay, so I really didn’t say that. But, we did have a fun idea to work with some of our very favorite authors. Some of us are established, others are up and coming. Together, we hit a bit of magic that we want to share with you for free.
Snag your copy of Shutter Step simply by sub...

An Album of Stories
Sometimes I have an idea for a story. Others, I have an idea for a process. Right now I’m obsessed with a process, andI wantyour help.
Recently, I’ve been able to take part in a collaborative project with four other authors. You’re going to love it, and it will be free. (If you haven’t signed up for my mailing list, you’ll want to do that here: Sign up for free stuff) A particular song played a part in the creation of the anthology, and after listening to it over and over I started thinking.

Sunday Scene: The Letter
Fall was a tough one for me personally, and winter had the same beginning so I’ve been a little AWOL. However, I’m back. I’m busy writing on several projects, including Jerrica’s story (getting a reorganization face lift), the second in Lizzie’s series (which is in research phase), and one that I’d like to introduce to you today.
Meet Irene, our main character, who has just inherited a surprise from her eccentric Aunt Eve upon her passing. However, this isn’t any ordinary inheritance. Not from...

Teaser Tuesday: Gone Girl
From StephanieFishman.com:
I've jumped on the bandwagon to read Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn before the movie comes out. (I'm a true "book before movie" gal.) So far I love it.

Teaser Tuesday: Murder on the Orient Express
From StephanieFishman.com:
A few weeks ago I listened to The History Chicks talk about Agatha Christie. I love her work, but something hit me during the podcast… I’ve never read Murder on the Orient Express. Don’t judge me. This had to be rectified, so I started reading it. It’s been a crazy week so I’m moving […]

Sunday’s Confession: I haven’t been writing
From StephanieFishman.com:
Here's my confession... I haven't been writing.
I should be. But I haven't been. I have ideas that haven't made it to the page. I have the desire but I just don't feel like I've been able to squeeze out the time or eek out the energy. My world has been topsy turvy this summer, but it will make for a great fall.
