Falling in love with my characters – again.

It's been 3 years, 5 months, and 2 days since I released Finding Eliza. I always loved the characters, but recently I fell in love with them all over again.

Catch me on Medium

I admit it. I’m a grumpy old lady who doesn’t always jump on the newest thing. (It’s actually because I only have so much attention to spread amongst projects before my eye starts twitching.) When a new writing platform was all the rage with my writing buddies, I shied away. But no more! You can […]

My Muse is a Lie

Writers write. Or, so I've been told. What happens when we don't? We come up with other things to do. Laundry is piling up, so I can't write. The baby has been sick, so I can't write. I'm in a fibro flare, so I can't write. My muse is quiet, so I can't write. Or can I?

The truth is simple: my muse is a lie.

My Own “Wellness Project”

The last few years has been hard on me physically, and it’s getting old. Fibromyalgia, anxiety, panic disorder, Hashimoto’s, arthritis… the list goes on. I’m officially sick of being sick. It’s time for a project: a wellness project. With my birthday coming up, I’ve been taking stock of everything that I have, everything that I […]

Moving Boxes and Kids’ Books

It’s been a wild ride around my house lately. Things have been cast into boxes and bins as we’ve moved from one home to another. Last night – two weeks into the move – I was able to finally unpack and set up my desk so that I could write.

It finally feels like home!

*Not my cat… He wouldn’t sit still long enough.

I’m now writing on the main level of the house with views of trees from the front, side, and back, and the light is glorious. I hope that it continues to make me feel as motivated as...

#FridayFictioneers: Home

With the release of my new children’s book series, Lola’s Adventures, I’ve been writing and working like a mad woman. (More on that series soon.) I haven’t been able to spend as much time on other projects as I’d like, and as a result, I missed participating in #FridayFictioneers last week.

I missed it!

I’m so glad that this week I’m able to participate once again. Be sure to pop over to Rochelle Wisoff-Fields’ blog, Addicted to Purple, to check out this week’s submissions. Be kind, share the...

#FridayFictioneers: The Dare

Although I lost most of the short fiction that I’ve posted in the past due to tech goblins, those who have been book buddies with me for a while know that I love flash fiction.

That said, this new experiment with micro-fiction has really challenged me. I’m in love! This week’s practice is no different. I hope you enjoy it.

I’ve shared the previous two #FridayFictioneers entries on WriterBloggerMom.com, but this week I decided to share it where the rest of my writing lives. I’m not sure where...

Camp NaNoWriMo starts April 1!

Get your backpacks ready, campers! It’s time for this year’s April version of Camp NaNoWriMo! Join me as I finish parts 2 and 3 of The Widow Teal.

Join me in Camp NaNoWriMo 2017

What is Camp NaNoWriMo?

Just like National Novel Writing Month each November (NaNoWriMo), this project focuses on the written word. However, the flexibility with Camp NaNoWriMo is that you can focus on time, word count, pages, lines written, and more. Editing? No problem! Make it an hourly goal. Writing a script? That works, too! Focus on pages.

T...

Happy Cream Cheese Brownie Day! (and an excerpt)

Happy Cream Cheese Brownie Day! Seriously, it’s a real holiday.

In my upcoming cozy mystery series, Great Aunt Eve – who is dead, by the way – loves a good holiday. Her zest for life is shown through her excitement over the fantastic as well as the mundane. And today, we’re celebrating with her in mind.

Happy Cream Cheese Brownie Day from Stephanie Pitcher Fishman, Author

Cream Cheese Brownie Day

In case you want a little history on the day, there’s not much. It’s a day to celebrate both cream cheese – which is awesome – and brownies – also awesome. Do you nee...

Help Wanted: Alpha and Beta Readers

Help Wanted: Interesting people with a love of good stories, an open mind to various quirky characters, and a predisposition to slight sarcasm and fluffy books. Or family history. (I write that, too.)

Do you like to read? Do you like to read for free? Would you like to read MY books for free? If so, then you are perfect for the job!

Help Wanted: Readers!

Indie authors like me depend on our readers. We don’t work for big publishing houses. We work for you. We write because we love it. And, we grow our readership...
