Writer’s Block: When the Silence is Deafening
From StephanieFishman.com:
Some people call it writer's block. Others talk about the muse leaving them. It doesn't matter what you call it because it comes down to the same thing: silence. When our words leave us, the silence is deafening.

Flash Fiction Friday: Stolen
From StephanieFishman.com:
I adore flash fiction and micro fiction. Those who have mastered it can transport you into a new world without pages and chapters. As Camp NaNoWriMo approaches, I've been playing around with ideas for a new piece of fiction. Writing micro or flash fiction has allowed me to get a feel for a story or a character quickly. I'm falling head over heals for it.

Flash Fiction Friday: Cold
From StephanieFishman.com:
Chele closed her eyes and immediately felt the coolness of the snowflakes as they landed on her face. Blinking, she could feel their weight on her eyelashes, tickling her cheeks as they lifted with each blink. Her nose crinkled as the snow tickled on her skin.

Don’t Be Shocked: Living Out ‘Warning’ by Jenny Joseph
From StephanieFishman.com:
I’ve recently dyed my hair purple. Yes, purple. Why? Life is filled with quirkiness. Life is filled with magical ideas with a twist of humor that so few let out until it’s too late. When I shared a photo of the new do on social media a dear friend reminded me of the poem Warning by Jenny Joseph. I am noticing some wonderful connections to this poem developing in my life.

Shine a Light on Fear
From StephanieFishman.com:
This all-encompassing fear has completely eaten me up in some weird twist of reality. I've finally committed to doing what I've longed to do since I was a little girl, and then I freeze? What kind of cruel joke is this? No joke. Fear. When you feel fear creeping into your project, creative or otherwise, you have to recognize it and stop it cold.

Finding Joy: A new resource for getting it back
From StephanieFishman.com:
Once upon a time, I was a very happy person. Then I wasn’t. Thankfully for me, that wasn’t the end. It was only the beginning.
After some rocky times, a few health problems, and even moments of loss last year, I realized that I wasn’t a product of my circumstance. I was created to experience joy. If I chose to allow all the muck and craziness of life steal that moment it by choice.
I’ve seen friends who battled cancer in their children who still experienced joy.
I’ve se...

Writer’s Workshop: 8 Forgotten Things that Defined My Grandmother
From StephanieFishman.com:
I’ve been so focused on creating my content calendar for the year – like all “good” bloggers do – that I forgot to just have fun with writing for a brief second. Throwing caution (and a few choice words) to the wind, I decided that I’m going to participate in Mama Kat’s Writer’s Workshop this year simply because I want to for the fun of it. The writing practice won’t hurt either. The prompt that I chose this week…
“List 8 things you think people forgot how to do.”
I do...
