Mondays With Columbo: A STITCH IN CRIME

With Leonard Nimoy's passing earlier this year, it should not be surprising that much of his non-Star Trek work would be reexamined. (Nimoy tended to dismiss his work on Mission: Impossible soon after Trek was canceled).

Part of that work includes Nimoy's turn on Columbo's second season as Dr. Barry Mayfield, a heart surgeon who decides to murder his partner Edward Heidemann (Will Geer). It's an episode that both Columbo podcasts - The Columbo Podcast  and Just One More...

Doctor Who: FACE THE RAVEN (Review)

(Some mild spoilers, but none around the ending. I promise).

After the relatively dismal Sleep No More , Doctor  Who really needed to kick the series back into high gear. After a first half that was well-laid out, allowing its stories to play out more (and avoiding the crash-boom of the Matt Smith years) provided the show with a well-needed buildup.

Face The Raven is simply brilliant...and not for the reasons you may think.

First, the story manages to mix tones and elements in a mo...

Surprise News On Saturday!

Found out earlier today from pals Ron & Rob of Airship 27 Productions....

You know that Black Bat story I wrote - and was published in Airship 27's Black Bat Mystery Vol 3 a few months ago?

Well, it's now available as an audiobook via Amazon and Audible.com.

So please buy in whatever format works for you - trust me, it's a good story.

Mom says so.

Go Read - Chicago Now's ONE CAUSE AT A TIME

In an effort to maintain my National Blog Posting Month (where I'm challenged to write 30 posts in 30 days), I'm maintaining it by linking to a post for another site.

You all know that I write for Chicago Now about technology & social good....but I chose to take up this month's challenge to all Chicago Now bloggers to write a post - in one hour - about our favorite inspirational quote.

So here it is - my meditation on Winston Churchill's "If you're going through hell, keep going....

Taking A Pause

Things have been really busy this week.

Health issues with Mom. She's home, she's better, but it's been a bit trying.

So if I've been silent on social media, it's only been because my focus has been where it needs to be.

Thanks, and now, back to NaBloPoMo!

Where Stories Come from: MOOSE & SKWIRL

As I stated last week, my short story "All Roads Lead to Rome" in Pro Se Productions' The Adventures of Moose & Skwirl isn't just notable because it's another published work....but it's my first pitched-and-published work.

Let's go back to approximately late 2013/early 2014 - I'm in the midst of job seeking/freelance seeking, and I need something to take my mind off of things. Projects to keep me busy. Idle hands and whatnot.

So I began looking at Pro Se Productions' website...especial...

Public Domain Drive-In: FLYING DEUCES

Right now, health issues with Mom are keeping me from blogging (and don't be surprised if I give up on NaBloPoMo). But until then, I know I need a good laugh - how about some Laurel & Hardy?
