Texas Outlaws: Jesse (The Texas Outlaws)

WANTED: A Red-Hot Rebel

Ever since his father’s famous bank robbery years ago, rodeo cowboy Jesse James Chisholm has been the bad boy of Lost Gun, Texas. A rule breaker. A heartbreaker. But he’s still haunted by his history, and the only girl who could match his wildness with her own—until she ditched her own bad-girl ways in favour of respectability….

But mayor-elect Gracie Jones isn’t quite the upstanding role model she projects. Underneath those conservative skirts and blouses? Very naughty underthings. Jesse’s return has stirred not only her long-slumbering wild side, but an insatiable hunger for this rugged, sexy cowboy. And this Texas town is going to see a side of the Wild West they never expected.

My thoughts:

Jesse James Chisholm’s father was out outlaw.  Ever since his father has passed he was always the outcast of the town.  He and now elect mayor Gracie were once a item way back when.   She goes out to the ranch to warm him the media is coming again to do a show about his father and where they are now.  Spark rise but neither one acknowledged what went on.  After times Jesse can not get Gracie out of his mind and wants her back in his bed for good.  She doesn’t want to listen.

I loved this story as both characters were stubborn and neither one wanted to give in to the other.  The author did a great job on that part of the story and the setting.  The book had me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what happens.  I will be reading more by this author and this series.

Thank you Netgally for allowing me to read this story for an honest review.

Blue Lines (Assassins #4) Review

Opposites do more than just attract in Toni Aleo’s latest Nashville Assassins novel about a very bad boy and the good girl he can’t resist.

The instant Piper Allen sees Erik Titov, she wants him—wants his rock-hard body, sure, but the strength and mystery that lie behind that superstar hockey jock demeanor, too. So when he sidles up to her at a bar and slinks his arm around her waist, she’s lost. What follows is the wildest night of her life . . . followed by inevitable heartbreak the next morning. And then, a few weeks later, a very big surprise: two blue lines on a pregnancy test.

Only a check to the head could make Erik fall for a nice girl like Piper. But since their crazy-sexy night together, he’s been trying to forget about her alluring body by falling into bed with every woman in Nashville, and it’s not working. So when Piper shows up at his house with a baby-bomb to drop, it doesn’t take much for Erik to suggest the nuclear option: marriage. While it’s supposed to be all for show, the second they say “I do,” the ice between them starts to melt into sizzling steam.

My thoughts:

Piper sees Erik and wants him right then and there.  They have a one night stand and Piper ends up with a secret.  Erik can’t get Piper out of his mind and Piper tries to get him out of her mind.  Erik has been warned he needs to clean up his act.  They act like a couple in front of their families as they got married.  Erik did it to show he can clean up but he ends up falling for Piper more than he thought and vice versa.

I have not read the other books in this series but I didn’t feel like I lost out.  The book was really good and the author had me wanting to know if Erik really could clean up his act or if he was going to fail.  I know what to read the others before this and after.  This is a series that will stick with me.

Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read the book for an honest review.

My thoughts:

This book was amazing. The stories were so good you didn’t want any of them to end.  Each story goes to the next with a new character.  They all take place in the Texas Panhandle when a train gets stuck in snow on the way to town people start to panic a bit.  Then a rough looking blacksmith takes in a lady and her two children he is supposed to hand the bell that is on the stuck train.  My favorite story if I had to pick one was the Saloon owner Anna she is on the way back to town with liquor in her wagon when she comes across a stranger named James.   They end up at a party that was thrown as they were getting deeper and deeper in the snow.  She has a rough past and he is a scientist.  They both come to know each other and he sticks up for her with the town folks who judge her.

The stories were wonderful and the authors did a great job with each story.  I wanted to read more and more. I will be checking on other books.

Slow Ride Home Review

Book one of The Grady Legacy

Losing his father was hard enough, but now Ben Grady must face the fact that he and his brother may not be sole owners of their beloved ranch. To protect his family’s legacy, he’s forced to rely on the legal prowess of the woman who stars in his erotic fantasies: Allie O’Keefe. Ben’s never forgotten the illicit encounter they shared fifteen years ago—or forgiven himself for letting her go.

Allie thought she’d moved beyond the scandal that cost her Ben in the past. But working so closely with the seductive rancher arouses the wild child within the cautious woman she’s become. Though she tries to keep business and pleasure separate, Allie soon gives in to temptation, and discovers Ben’s sensual skills surpass even her X-rated memories…

Allie has every intention of leaving Bull’s Hollow forever after her investigation is complete. But there are a few complications. Not the least of which is that while saving the ranch, Allie’s lost her heart.

My Thoughts:

Ben and his brother just lost their father and one of their barnes burned down. The insurance company send in a woman to investigate and it is not other then Ben’s ex Allie. She did not want to come out in the first place as she knew it would not go too well. Allie and Ben slowly come to terms with what happened between them and start to search of who would want to burn the barn and they might have someone else that is also owner of the ranch.

The characters of Allie and Ben worked well with each other. With the suspense thrown in you want to see where the whole situation goes between the two and if someone really did set the fire. The setting is good and the author does a great job bring out things to catch your interest.

I would highly recommended this book to read.

Thank you Netgalley for the free book to read for an honest reivew.

Romancing Rosalie by AnnMarie Oakes

My thoughts:

These box set for 99 cents was not bad at all.  I was lucky to get it from Netgalley for free for a honest review.  I adored all 4 stories.  They each grabbed the reader and made you want to read till the end.  You wanted to know of love was going to win out.  If I had to choose a favorite form the bunch it would have to be Almost Lonely.  The reason for this is an outlaw keeps his promise on coming back to visit Lottie and she is even more surprised he came.  The two fall in love and the story was heart warming.

All 4 stories are really good and the characters pop that was the main reason for loving the stories.  Each character brought something to the story and made you melt wanting to see the outcome.

Thank you Netgalley for the book to review.
