Drive-by print updates.

I've still never gotten around to putting together that whole newsletter thing, for the record. Hence blog updates instead.

Anywho. It looks as though some of the other experimental Print-on-Demand titles have gone live. As of right now, Cindy Spencer Pape's Steam and Sorcery , R.L Naquin's Monster in My Closet , and Liz Flaherty's Jar of Dreams  have all gone live. I'm not sure if there are any others, but that's who's up, live, and you should definitely go check them out.

The last I've hear...

A London Style Teaser Blitz: LONDON FALLING by Chanel Cleeton.

RIGHT NOW, and for a super limited time, I SEE LONDON, Chanel Cleeton's first book, is just 99 cents. You should stop everything, I mean everything, and snap that up because it's a hell of a deal for a hell of a book by a hell of a girl (consider this my official blurb, y'all. Don't leave out a single "hell" either.)

Finding sun-drenched magic again.

"The truth of life is that every year we get farther away from the essence that is born within us. We get shouldered with burdens, some of them good, some of them not so good. Things happen to us. Loved ones die. People get in wrecks and get crippled. People lose their way, for one reason or another. It’s not hard to do, in this world of crazy mazes. Life itself does its best to take that memory of magic away from us. You don’t know it’s happening until one day you feel you’ve lost something...

You and me? We're so much more than merely pretty.

I've spoken before about my sometimes crippling self-esteem issues. Honestly, I can't even pinpoint the reasons behind them. I can't point to a specific moment or year or experience that made me suddenly go, "God no" when I looked in the mirror. It was a thousand tiny things that slowly accumulated over time, like a very slow, but steady, snowfall that turned into a heavy blanket of self-loathing.
The messed up thing about it is, when I look in the mirror I can separate my feelings about what...

"Men are afraid that women will laugh at them. Women are afraid that men will kill them."

Once upon a time, I tried to maintain two blogs. One geared specifically toward writing and writing things, and one for everything else. I kept the everything else one completely separate from my writing one. Only my friends and family knew about it. It's where I'd post things about my boys, about political type things, and anything that might be viewed as too controversial. Nobody had specifically told me not to post controversial things on my blog, but I looked around at other writers and...

Listen, Captain Jack Sparrow. We need to talk.

In the days immediately following WILD ONES's release, I did what I imagine many people with newly released books do: relentlessly Googled myself. I told myself I would not do this thing. That doing the thing would only lead to my sobs and pain. But of course I still did it because I'm a glutton for punishment and might be a little bit of a masochist and honestly, I just couldn't resist.

And, as predicted, I was immediately met with sites where my book was illegally uploaded.
Now, I'm not goin...

A wild blur of neurotypicality.

"She said we need to get him around....other...kids," Betty paused and gave me a significant look, as if I was too dense to pick up what he meant by other. "Said he needs other examples of how kids are supposed to act.

I'm not much of an eye roller, but I wanted to roll my eyes at that. "Next time you have to take him in spur of the moment like that, make sure you get a different doctor. Screw her."

"Still." Betty shrugged and glanced out at the yard where our tiny blur of a secondborn was ch...
