Ch-ch-changes…
July is winding down and I’ve done a virtual crap-ton of writing during it. I completed 2 books, wrote an unexpected short that makes me laugh, and am working on the final Stronghold book (not quite halfway on that one, but soooon).
On the non-writing side, I’m side-eying my site and thinking it needs an update. Not an update-update, but an overhaul. There are a couple of pages I want to add content to and reorganize and I want a new overall look.
So. Once I finish Stronghold (sooooon), I’m going to be playing with new themes and other fun stuff.
Because I can.
Psst. In the meantime, check out the various series pages. You might find some hints about what’s coming soon.
Holy CRUMB! I had some free time and not the site has a new look! Poke around. Look at things. FIND STUFF TO OGLE!
I don’t mind. Really.

Operation Dragon has arrived!
The first in my slew of new releases is out now. Operation Dragon, book 2 in the Monstrous Matchmaker series, stars none other than the sweet Max from The Wicked Dragon. Can you see a theme with the MM series? Yep, Ari will be hooking up her monstrous friends in the same order she boned them.
I’m going to be honest, I’ve been so focused on writing recently (I have FIVE books I’ve written in the past few months that are in various stages of editing/ready to be released) I don’t remember if I ever shared the blurb or cover for Operation Dragon. NO WORRIES, THOUGH. I can do that now…
Operation Dragon (Monstrous Matchmaker #2)
With one happy couple firmly under her belt, budding supernatural matchmaker Ari Colton is determined to help any other lonely heart who comes her way.
A flighty cockatrice with a penchant for bikini tops and cowboy hats? NO PROBLEM.
She knows a wicked dragon with an open mind who would love going on a date with the sassy, motor-mouthed, half-dragon waitress. And if they happen to hit things off and find their happily ever after? EVEN BETTER.
Ari’s determined to make her supernatural dating agency the best in the community and she’s not above twisting a few wings to make things work.
Warning: This book contains one bikini wearing waitress who can’t keep her mouth shut and one hunk of a dragon who likes things a little rough. No bikinis or fur-lined boots were harmed in the writing of this book.
As with book 1, Operation Dragon will only be available for Kindle. Once I get enough books out to create a bundle, you’ll be able to read about Ari’s sexy matchmaking attempts on other platforms. Until then…

Spotlight on: A Veiled Truth by Amanda Shofner
While I’m busy putting the finishing touches on Operation Dragon (MAX! SQUEEEEE!), y’all should go check out Amanda Shofner’s newest release. It’s set in her Hunted world, but it works as a standalone (although all the books are very, very good, so you should pick them ALL up) and I liked it A LOT.
(Also, check out that cover art. *preens a little*)
A Veiled Truth (The Hunted #2.5) by Amanda Shofner
A 31,000 word novella set in The Hunted world
She’s about to learn life isn’t like her controlled experiments.
Edie Brown is a lab rat, dedicated to improving the lives of her fellow Gifted. And while she saved countless Gifted soldiers with her research during the war against the Hunters, she’s haunted by the one person she hasn’t saved: her aunt. With a new pair of joint illusionists to help her, Edie’s closer than ever to a breakthrough.
But her well-ordered scientist’s life unravels when her best friend Marcus proposes a different kind of experiment — one that puts her heart at risk — and her aunt collapses, leaving Edie wondering if she’s too late to help. She’s not about to give up yet, though, not when there’s still a chance she can cure her aunt — and find the one thing she didn’t even know she needed.
Visit Amanda’s site for purchase links and a peek at chapter 1.
(Psst. Today’s the last day you can get it for under a buck. UNDER A BUCK! Oh, GAWD! Someone throw a joke about deer in here. PLEASE! It’s killing me to say something like that and not follow it up with a terrible pun.)

Buried Bodies is here!
Buried Bodies is the standalone (ha. Right. Standalone. I already have plans for another book with some of the characters you meet in this book. So, yeah. Standalone. I don’t think that word means what I think it means.) book that popped into my head a while back. Girl. Body. Trunk of her car. Oh, and werewolves. Because… well, werewolves.
It’s out now. YAY! This is a NA paranormal romance that’s light on the sexy times. Well, there’s some kissing. And nudity. Because werewolves like to be naked, OKAY? Just go with it.
Jenny Reynolds may be a mere human, but her life is anything but ordinary.
She’s juggling her senior year of high school, a sick mom, a brother who depends on her, and, oh yeah, there’s the matter of a body in the trunk of her car. As if that isn’t enough, the werewolf quarterback of her high school’s all-shifter football team has started sniffing around.
Evan Carmichael never noticed Jenny as more than the cute girl in his class until the day he smelled blood and death on her. Now she’s all he can think about. And when a werewolf becomes intrigued, he’ll do anything to keep the object of his fascination safe.
Even hide a body.
What’s a girl to do when the most beautiful boy in school wants to help her out of her jam? If she’s smart, she takes him up on the offer…

Oopsies.
Whoa. What happened to May? And the first half of June?
Oh, I KNOW! I was busy writing and…well, writing.
At the moment, I have three books ready to hit my editor’s desk – Operation Dragon, Cursed Wolves, and Buried Bodies. As soon as they can be fit into her schedule, those babies are in the bag.
In other words, I haven’t dropped off the face of the planet, I just got lost in my writing cave for a while. Oops.

Looking back on April
April was a Camp NaNo month. I love NaNo events. I seriously just flat-out love them. I don’t know if it’s knowing there are thousands of other people doing the same thing I am or the thrill of watching my number graph inch steadily upward that does it for me, but I tend to be very productive during these events. Basically, whether I hit my goal or not, it’s a win because I’m writing.
What did I work on in April?
– Finished Cursed Wolves (Grimwood #2). This book still needs some TLC because I KNOW there are passages that don’t quite work the way I want them to work, but the first draft is done.
– Finished Operation Dragon (Monstrous Matchmaker #2). These books are pretty straightforward (monster sexin’ with no terribly complex themes), so I don’t anticipate any major rewrites on this one.
– Finished Operation Merman (Monstrous Matchmaker #3). I wasn’t planning on working on this one, to be honest. But a scene got stuck in my head and I decided to fiddle with it once I wrote MM2. The next thing I knew, the book was almost done and I was congratulating myself.
– I wrote a fair chunk on an as-yet-untitled contemporary menage I’ve been working on for… umm, a while. I love the book itself and I really enjoy the characters, but it’s a lot harder to write than any of my others. Still, it’s close to be completed and I am PLEASED with it.
– With two days remaining in the month, I told myself I could play around and write whatever caught my fancy. I needed a break from the menage and I wasn’t quite ready to start the next Stronghold book. I had a scene looping through my head about a girl driving to school with a dead body in the trunk of her car. BOOM. As I write this post up Saturday morning, I’m hoping to have that little gem finished by the end of the weekend. It’s tentatively titled Buried Bodies and it has the aforementioned human girl and a small pack of werewolves. Because I love me some werewolves.
There you have it. I wrote a fair amount in April and I’m terribly pleased with everything I accomplished.
Now, here’s to an equally productive May!

Spotlight on: Snowcroft Safehouse by Christi Snow
Last week I pointed out that book 1 in the Snowcroft Men series was on sale. This week, I’m SUPER excited to announce that book 2 is out and wants you to buy it. Which makes the book sound weirdly creepy. IT’S NOT. I swear. It’s sweet and sad and sexy and had lots of dude lovin’. *slow thumbs up* Also, it has a secondary character I absolutely fell in love with. Laaawwwwww! Poor man.
Anywho. Here’s the skinny on Snowcroft Safehouse…
Snowcroft Safehouse (Snowcroft Men #2) by Christi Snow
A year ago Declan Jasper was entertaining sold-out arena crowds as the lead singer of Black Rainbows. But that came to an explosive end when the band got caught up in a criminal cover-up, one that ended with the entire band dead. At least that’s what everyone is supposed to think.
Now, Dex is hiding in plain sight, working as the school band director in a sleepy little mountain resort town while under the protection of a hard-nosed FBI agent. Instead of eyeliner and black leather, he now wears glasses and corduroy. Instead of having sexy coeds—both male and female—throw themselves into his bed, he’s dealing with teenage angst and grumpy parents.
At the top of his troubles list is Kelsey Walker, a junior high bundle of rare musical talent in the form of one confused, messed-up adolescent. Dex figures the problem comes from her broken home and wants to help. But when he meets her father, sexy bar-owner, Jack Walker, he realizes that instead of helping he’s probably just bringing more trouble and danger to their door.
Dex has to stay alive until the trial to bring his bandmates’ murderers to justice, but can he do that if it means sacrificing his own happily ever after?
It’s available at Amazon and other places. YAY! And *ahem* check out that dedication after you pick it up. *buffs nails and gives everyone the slow finger guns*

Spotlight on Christi Snow’s Snowcroft Lost
I’m SUPER excited that the second book in Christi Snow’s Men of Snowcroft series is coming out this week. To celebrate, Christi has book 1, Snowcroft Lost, on sale for a limited time.
This is a seriously fun, seriously sexy m/m series that’s full of twists and turns. SERIOUSLY.
Snowcroft Lost (Men of Snowcroft #1) by Christi Snow
Secrets and Lies…
Everyone has them. Big ones. Little ones.
For Trevor Mayne and Jamie Vaughn, secrets and lies are how they’ve made their fourteen year friendship work. Don’t talk about it. Ignore it and it won’t be real. Pretend like everything’s fine between the two of them.
Jamie can’t live like this anymore. He’s in love with Trevor, his best friend who just happens to be straight. Tired of hiding his feelings, he decides to walk away. From their friendship. From his hometown. From his business.
But before Jamie gets a chance to leave, a freak accident leaves Trevor with amnesia. A new blank perspective leaves him confused about the inconsistencies of what he’s told his life should be vs. the feelings that he knows he has. Now those secrets and lies, that should be safer than ever, are suddenly front and center and changing everything between them.
Their world is at risk because their secrets and lies aren’t the only ones at play here. There’s a bigger lie out there and it could just destroy everything as they get closer and closer to the secret hidden in depths of the Snowcroft forest.
I had such a good time with Trevor and Jamie in book 1. If you like a little man lovin’, snap up this book. And then grab book 2 on Friday!

Operation Werewolf has arrived!
GOOD NEWS! Operation Werewolf is live and kickin!
This series is going to be an Amazon exclusive (much like Ari’s original tales were), so you’ll have to head on over to them to pick it up.
Here’s the exciting part: I’m going to try something a little different for Operation Werewolf. The price point is going to be a bit higher than the Monstrous Tales series books ($2.99 for Monstrous Matchmaker versus $1.99 for Monstrous Tales), BUT I want to GIVE you book 1 in exchange for a review for ANY of my other books. So if you’ve read any of my previous pubbed books (not just Monstrous Tales, ANY OF THEM) and have reviewed them at Amazon (or elsewhere!), drop me an email at AuthorKellyApple[at]gmail[dot]com with a link to the review and I’ll send you a copy of Ari’s first attempt at matchmaking.
Easy enough, right? Email me, people! I want to give you something!
So, without any further ado… Operation Werewolf!
Operation Werewolf (Monstrous Matchmaker #1)
Being happily mated to a monster out of her wildest fantasies has given Ari Colton a burning desire to match her other monstrous friends up with their own dream girls. Her supernatural dating service might still have a few bugs to work out, but Ari knows she can find someone for anyone.
Her first paying customer? A lonely harpy who’s been unlucky at love more than once.
Which of her friends is willing to step up to the plate and help Ari’s fledgling business out? One wicked werewolf with a soft side for damsels in distress, that’s who.
Can a werewolf with his feet firmly on the ground find love with a flighty girl? Only time will tell.
Warning: This book contains one pretty, winged girl and one growly werewolf. No woodland animals were harmed in their explosive outdoor encounter.
(Psst. Book 2 has already been written. You’ll be seeing more of this series in the near future!)

Monstrous Matchmaker #2 blurb and cover reveal!
With Operation Werewolf off to the editor and a goodly chunk written on book 2, I figured now was as good a time as any to show off the cover for Ari’s next matchmaking adventure. TA-DA!
I really dig the cover on this one. Plus, writing Max the dragon is always fun!
