First Line Friday – Refuge
It’s my birthday tomorrow. What better way to celebrate than with zombies! (As an aside, finishing Stronghold, the final book in this series, feels like a major accomplishment. SO REVEL IN THE ZOMBIES, MY FRIENDS! REVEL IN THEM!)
Emma rubbed her eyes and shivered. A quirk of design and miles of chrome and tile left the kitchen chilly no matter the temperature outside.
Not that she was complaining.
Better to be cold inside than dead outside.
The way she’d been feeling the past couple of days, the cold wasn’t just physical. It cut through her soul and made her numb to the body in the dining room and the shambling figures who pressed against the windows with bloody fingers if she ventured past the kitchen doors.
RefugeAmazonRelease Date: February 15, 2015
Pages: 81
Genre: Post-Apocalyptic Romance
Emma barely survived the zombie outbreak that swept through the small town of Fox Hollow. Saved by a delivery man, she’s far from home and cast adrift. Only the calming influence of her knight in polyester shorts has kept her from falling apart completely.
Gavin understands all too well that the world has fallen into chaos. Saving Emma was the only thing he could do when he saw her being threatened by the residents of the retirement home. Trapped with one another to lean on, they have to figure out how to make things work in this crazy, messed up world.
The appearance of other living people from the upper floors might be the break they need to make it out in one piece. But only if they have the courage to step out of their refuge.
And only if Emma’s secret doesn’t destroy the fragile trust she and Gavin are building.

Preorder up!
The preorders for All the Reasons Why, the final book in the Anderson High Wolves series, are trickling in. I’m still waiting on B&N as of the writing of this post, but all the others are good to go. All are now up!
The release date is set for October 21st, which is soooooon! SOON! YAY!
I totally loved how Mason and Natalie played off one another and got to let their snark shine through. It was seriously fun to write.
All the Reasons WhyAmazon | Barnes and Noble | iTunes | KoboRelease Date: October 21, 2015
Pages: 92
Genre: New Adult, Paranormal Romance
Natalie Lombard didn’t set out to be the queen bitch of Anderson High, but that’s what she is. She also never planned on letting everybody know how badly she wants a werewolf football player in her life, but it’s the worst kept secret at school.
What they don’t know is Natalie needs protection and the only ones she thinks stand a chance against her worst nightmare are the wolves.
Mason Armstrong held his tongue as Natalie dated her way through the team. He wants her to want him, not settle for the biggest, quietest wolf in the pack because he’s the only one who will have her.
Finding out what drives her serial dating makes his wolf see red.
But figuring out how to fix her problem is only the beginning. Once her issues get taken care of, will she even want a wolf?

First Line Friday – Operation Werewolf
Ari. HA. What can I say about Ari? How about: She has good intentions. She doesn’t always think things through, but she means well. Now imagine her trying to set all her supernatural friends up with ladies who will appreciate them. GOOD TIMES!
“I’m sorry, you want to what me?”
Ari slumped down in her chair and regarded her best werewolf friend from under beetled brows. It was a look she’d been practicing in the mirror lately and she thought it made her look fierce and confident.
Steepling her fingers, she waited until Michael had stopped pacing to glare at her before talking. “I want to set you up with someone. Trust me, Mikey, she’s a nice girl.”
“She’s a harpy. Literally. A woman whose lower half is a bird. How do you imagine that would work?” Michael threw himself down into a chair and let his head fall back so he was staring at the ceiling. “C’mon, Ari. I know you want your business to succeed, but I really, really can’t imagine what a harpy and I would have in common.”
Operation WerewolfAmazonRelease Date: April 12, 2015
Pages: 45
Genre: Monster Erotica
Being happily mated to a monster out of her wildest fantasies has given Ari Colton a burning desire to match her other monstrous friends up with their own dream girls. Her supernatural dating service might still have a few bugs to work out, but Ari knows she can find someone for anyone.
Her first paying customer? A lonely harpy who’s been unlucky at love more than once.
Which of her friends is willing to step up to the plate and help Ari’s fledgling business out? One wicked werewolf with a soft side for damsels in distress, that’s who.
Can a werewolf with his feet firmly on the ground find love with a flighty girl? Only time will tell.
Warning: This book contains one pretty, winged girl and one growly werewolf. No woodland animals were harmed in their explosive outdoor encounter.

First Line Friday – Haven
The second book in the Stronghold series came out one year ago this past week. Which means (say it with me, now)…We’re revisiting Marcus and Sarah for this week’s FLF.
Sarah shifted, trying to find a comfortable position on the two chairs she’d pushed together to form a makeshift bed. They were a touch too small for her to stretch out, forcing her to keep her knees slightly bent, but putting them any further apart made her ass sag through.
Sagging ass was no way to spend the evening.
But then, neither was being trapped in a room with creatures right outside who would eat you if they saw you.
HavenAmazonRelease Date: October 15, 2014
Pages: 78
Genre: Post-Apocalyptic Romance
It’s been a week since the virus that turned normally sane people into ravenous monsters ripped through their town. Desperate to get to his family, Marcus and Sarah had ended up at the Three Pines Retirement Community by chance. Trapped on the second floor, they had a stash of food and a relatively safe haven to ride out what was going on outside the doors.
But their families were still out there and until Marcus knows the truth about what happened to them, he can’t sit idly by.
Sarah knows what Marcus is driven to do. Barricaded inside a retirement home with no contact with the outside world is killing him slowly. But the two of them against the hordes of flesh eating monsters roaming the streets seems impossibly suicidal. She’s seen enough horror movies to know that the only safe place isn’t going to be found in the town they both grew up in.
They need a plan, one that will give Marcus the peace of mind he needs and still keep them safe. It’s when they realize there are other uninfected in the building that things start to come together…

Operation MermanAmazonRelease Date: October 1, 2015
Pages: 40
Genre: Monster Erotica
Riding high on the thrill of hooking up two of her monstrous friends with mates, Ari Colton is setting her sights on the lonely merman in the mountain lake. The catch? He can't leave his watery home. Meaning she has to find someone who'd be willing to relocate to his oasis in the mountains for anything to come of it.
The female supernatural population isn't clamoring to sign up with her dating agency despite her successes, so Ari will have to dig deep to find a special someone who will meet all Thisseral's needs.

She thinks.
Warning: This book contains shenanigans. Wet shenanigans. Dry shenanigans. All sorts of shenanigans. And a horny merman who likes to show his stuff. As one does.

*stares blankly at everyone*
Hey. So I finished the final Stronghold book this weekend. This book seriously kicked my ass. Part of it is entirely my fault. I started it back in May and wrote on it sporadically in May, June, and July. By that, I mean a few thousand words here, a few thousand words there. I went into it expecting this book to be roughly twice the length of previous books in the series. I figured that even with those dinky numbers I’d have it done in no time.
Ha.
The 30K I predicted turned into nearly 70K. Meaning Stronghold is the currently clocking in as my longest book date. Which is awesome! YAY! But I didn’t really factor that length into my overall writing schedule. (which I’m terrible at keeping to, btw. TERRIBLE.)
HOWEVER, I did finish several books in the months I was working on Stronghold. I’m aiming to have a new series start up in November (that’s still tentative, but it’s my plan), of which 2 books are written and a 3rd is almost done. The down side of that is that I wrote them out of order. So, book 1 is completed. Book 2 is almost done. Book 3 is plotted. Book 4 is done, but needs to be reworked to fit in with the timeline on the earlier books. (What? I like to be contrary.)
I had a point to this. I swear. Maybe it was to expect the Stronghold series to close out early in 2016. I need a break from that bad boy before I can tackle editing it.
In the meantime, Operation Merman goes live on Thursday the 1st (you can preorder it at Amazon) and the 3rd book in the Anderson High Wolves series will be coming to you sometime before the end of October.
Now I’m going to fall back and regroup to see what I need to work on next.

First Line Friday – Demon Besieged
Demon Besieged turned a year old this week. What better way to celebrate than by sharing the first few lines?
Using the type of magic that could be bought in back alleys was considered ill-advised for a reason. Besides the fact that you never really knew what you’d end up with or how potent the magic was, it tended to be rougher and hurt.
But when the only option you had to travel to another plane to avenge your sister’s death could be found in a dark alley, you took what you could get.
That was what Jazz kept telling herself as the magic twisted her up and burned like the very fires of the hell dimension she had traveled to.
Demon BesiegedAmazon | Barnes and Noble | iTunes | Scribd | Kobo | InkteraRelease Date: September 21, 2014
Pages: 121
Genre: Paranormal Romance
She’s determined to avenge her sister’s death.
Jazz’s journey to the demon plane takes an unexpected turn when she finds not only her sister alive but shacked up with the very demon who was supposed to have killed her. And the worst part? An infuriating demon bodyguard stirs longings in Jazz that she doesn’t want to face.
He sees something more.
Arix is intrigued by the sassy werewolf. Even when she’s making a mess of things, her fiery personality calls to him. She might be rough around the edges, but he senses a heart of gold under all her bluster.
Together they could be perfect.
What’s a demon to do when the wolf he wants to claim is determined to stay single? Turn up the heat and show her what she’ll be missing, of course.
Warning: This book contains a werewolf who constantly puts her foot in her mouth and a demon who likes a challenge. Never underestimate the power of good innuendo.

First Line Friday – All the Reasons Why
The Anderson High Wolves series is winding down. Mason and Natalie’s story will be hitting the virtual shelves mid-October. Which means, we need a little teaser…
For Natalie Lombard, the clock had started ticking toward the moment her life was destined to change a little over two years ago.
Everybody else in her senior class was counting the months until graduation. Not her. She had her eye on the end of January. The twenty-ninth, to be exact.
The sad part of this countdown was how she dreaded it.
What was coming wasn’t good. Quite possibly, it was the worst nightmare she could imagine.
Whenever she had these thoughts, she’d remind herself there was the slightest possibility she’d given the coming moment more weight than it deserved. Maybe things would be okay. Maybe what had been whispered to her hadn’t been as sinister as she imagined.
Then she’d be forced to sit through another excruciating video call with her family and she’d be reminded there was no way out of her predicament if he did decide to follow through.
No way, but one.

First Line Friday – Sanctuary
I have such a soft spot for zombies. Well, not the zombies, exactly, but the circumstances surrounding zombies. Broken societies do it for me, okay? Meaning we’re revisiting the first book in the Stronghold series today!
The bruise on Liss’s hand looked like an elephant if she squinted and tilted her head. It ran from the base of her index and middle fingers down past her wrist. In some places it was such a deep purple it looked black.
Turning her hand slightly, Liss watched as the elephant became a long-necked giraffe.
If she hadn’t been in a panic at the time, it would almost be funny trying to figure out what shapes she could find in it. But the terror of grasping hands and gnashing teeth still rode her hard and there wasn’t much fun to be found.
SanctuaryAmazonRelease Date: June 14, 2014

Genre: Post-Apocalyptic Romance
When the dead become ravenous monsters, you either find the strength to survive or end up like them.
Liss and Drew had been acquaintances before they were trapped in the stairwell with the living dead outside. Now they had to depend on one another to stay alive.
With food scarce and safety even scarcer, the two have to make a choice: Leave their safe haven and find somewhere they can dig in for the long haul or let themselves die trapped in a place that seems to be getting smaller every day.
Drew has a plan, one that will give them a chance to survive. The question is… can he convince Liss to trust him and his plan before she’s too weak to outrun the zombies?
