you may never be able to “right a wrong” in your world.

A very wise teacher once said to me, “Who would you have to make wrong in order to get things right?” As long as you need to continue to make your sources “right,” you may never be able to “right a wrong” in your world. Neale Donald Walsh

This quote resonated with me today as I received news from a colleague out in Bahamas.
During this month, Hurricane Dorian battered a number of islands including Bahamas. I have the great fortune of being in Bahamas in July. I loved it. I met some wonderful people, I had fun, I fell in love with the place
Today I was told that one of the families that I met did not survive the hurricane. It was a sobering conversation reminding me that we get to choose how we live and when that time comes, it comes ready and uncompromising.
Who would we make wrong for a hurricane happening?
Who would we make wrong for natural disasters?
Isn't it just part of the cycle of life?
And something that we have no control to?
Just our response to it?
This had be pondering this morning
How do we respond to the things that we cannot control
How do we accept and not look for the right and wrong and the blame?
May the families affected by Dorian RIP
May Bahamas rise strong
Peace

Sometimes we just have to be real

An act of personal and loving self-service is that you stop telling yourself nonsense. Carolyn Myss
Sometimes we just have to tell ourselves the truthSometimes we just have to tell ourselves that mistakes makes mastersSometimes we just have to talk to ourselves with a loving yet firm voice Sometimes we have to peak to ourselves with compassionSometimes we just have to remind ourselves that not everything will go the way we intend for Sometimes we have to be real

What is Your Definition of Power?

To bring any creation from the realm of imaginative vision to concrete manifestation, you must learn how to wield power effectively. Power is a quality of your soul, so it is already within you. You access it by clearing the beliefs, stories, and patterns that keep you from applying it skillfully to shape a life and business you truly love. Hiro Boga

How do you define Power?

There are so many descriptions of what power is, what is looks like, what it is supposed to be and who has it?
Like success, I have learnt that I get to describe what Power means for me, in that way I take the stress off myself and walk towards my own definition of what Power is.
In reading the work of Hiro Boga who believes that Power comes from within, I have also come to the conclusion that all of us were born with power, we forget that we have it inside us when we run towards the external definition of power which rests on the pillars of money, position and status.

Power to me is a decision to use the gifts given to each of us
It is the decision to remember that we come from Source and if we do come from Source we can tap into that source at any time
Power is knowing that we can bounce back from set backs
Power sets into motion the service, abundance, prosperity and consistency.

What is your definition of Power?

Peace

What Is Filling Your Void?

Your void wants to be felt not filled. Steph Feels

Uncomfortable feelings are well....uncomfortable! We don't like to feel them, we run from them.
We suddenly find so many things to fill the void in our lives. People fill it with shopping, sex, drink, food, social media, you name it. Rather than face the uncomfortable feeling, we run from it.
We run from feeling of discomfort, we run if we think it will bring us pain.
Feelings are guides, they point us in a direction. If we ignore the guides it is so easy to get lost.
We have to know and remember that our guidance comes from feelings and decisions are best made with a balance of both head and heart
Many times our heart's decisions are illogical, it gives us uncertainty. so we shy away from those decisions waiting on certainty and signs
What we don't understand is that our feelings are the signs and we may never get the validation and certainty that we crave.
The next time you feel a void, sit in it for a moment, let it wash over you, this too shall pass, don't run to the mall, to the TV, to the phone, to the man, to the woman, to the bottle. After the feeling passes then decide what is best for the celebration!

Peace

Let People Be

There is no right or wrong way to be spiritual, everything is spiritual since all is Spirit. Adhering to a specific diet or lifestyle doesn't make you more spiritual than anyone else, although your ego might convince you otherwise. It's all the same, baby. Zoey Ann

The ego wants us to believe that we are superior to others based on the things that we do, the clothes we wear, the places we visit, where we have gone to school and the list goes on.
The ego is simply about separation.
Just because someone does not do what you do, in the same way, with the same passion and intensity does not make them inferior to you.
Everyone is different, every one has different experiences which leads to how we behave, how we respond, how we act.
If it brings you peace without harming anyone else, how they respond is their business, not yours.
Our lives is our responsibility.
No one else's
We must always remember that all of us are connected.
There really is only the illusion of separation.
Let people be, just as you would want them to let you be
Peace

Fun is an Investment too

Let no one tell you that taking a vacation is not an investment. People assume investments only make sense when you "deny" yourself nice things & invest in some market-tagged thing. Doing things for your well-being like having fun or taking rest and time out IS important . Chao Mmbogo

Confessions on the Journey - I am craving a vacation and I was feeling guilty about taking one. The people around me are not interested in vacations, they are workaholics. I drank the KoolAid and now I am out here craving a vacation.
I peeped at my calendar two days ago and saw that it is literally full up until the end of September and got a tad bit depressed.
Yesterday it seemed that an event on the calendar may be cancelled, I actually got so happy I started planning vacations in my head right away! That is how much I want to be somewhere quiet doing nothing!

Vacations gives us an opportunity to reboot, to revive, to re frame our minds and bodies. Once done well, it is a catalyst for inspiration.
Don't let anyone tell you that you are wasting your time and money when you want, need and crave a vacation.

Share with me some of your favourite spots and vacation rituals
I am looking to plan one very soon
Peace

Do You Use Affirmations?

Affirm: I change who I am first and watch how everything in my life changes for the better. It all starts with me. How I think, how I feel about myself, and how I use my time. Taking responsibility for my action and behavior only helps me become the best that I can be. Idil Ahmed

Do you use affirmations? Affirmations are positive statements that can help you to challenge and overcome self-sabotaging and negative thoughts.

Confessions on the Journey -I was not a fan of affirmations at all. It's funny when we believe life is going well and everything is lined up we move along in a certain type of way. Then when shit hits the fan we look for everything available to take us out of the muck and mire.
And that was exactly my introduction to affirmations. I was literally at a point in life where I was willing to do new things to start feeling better. I decided to write my own affirmations and say them out loud on a daily basis.

When I began, it felt as if I was lying to myself. The rational brain at work telling me well this is not exactly the case honey! It took time for me to rewire my thinking to let myself know what this is a statement to challenge the old patterns and thoughts that overtook me and helped in making poor decisions.

When the self sabotaging thought surface, I speak to it with an affirmation. I saw it until the self sabotaging thought subsides. Automatically now when it comes up the affirmation appears and they do a dance in my brain. The affirmation usually wins!

Using affirmations have really helped me along the Journey in rewiring my brain and my approach to situations.

Some of my favourites are:

1. All is well and so am I

2. I am never alone

3. I am worthy of abundance

4. The more I love my body the healthier I feel

5. I bring only the best thoughts to this day

6. I release all tension, I release all fear, I release all guilt

What are some of your affirmations?

Peace

Acceptance leads to Transformation

Accepting something about ourselves does not mean that we don't intend to change it. In fact, it's when we fully accept something that we increase our capacity to transform it. Danielle La Porte

The definition I love most about acceptance is recognition of a thing as it stands. Recognition minus the judgement of self and others. Acceptance is tough. Well at least for me - confessions on the Journey
I want to fix, I want to change it immediately, and sometimes I even wish I had a time machine to go back in time and make this different.
Acceptance drops the need for all of that and just leads us to recognising the truth of the matter in that particular moment.
As soon as we accept, we can decide.
Acceptance takes courage, discipline and release of judgement and ego.

Taking steps towards acceptance means that we are willing to face a thing and face the feelings that are associated with it.

It brings a level of freedom if we are willing to do the work.
Acceptance is the precursor to change.

What have you been unwilling to accept?
Peace

Letting Go of Attachments brings Peace of Mind

In truth, possessions don’t make us safer — they only give the illusion of security. Having more things around you doesn’t make it more likely you’ll survive tough financial times . Zen Habits

Over the last few days, I have been thinking about the things, people and beliefs that I am attached to and why?
How do they improve or affect the way I live?

I have learnt that the attachment to something, someone or a belief can be a form of fear particularly when in the moment one does not want to let go. Even if holding on is harming us.

I started asking myself - what am I afraid to let go of?
It as a tad bit hard to admit the answers honestly to myself but when I did come around to facing it my answers were:

1. My definition of what success is
2. My youth and health

I know now, that I am afraid of growing old and unhealthy and not achieving my dreams.
Having come to terms with these answers, I went on to further ask myself - what is the worst that can happen- after contemplating that for a while it became easier to reckon with it knowing that the fear of it is bigger than the reality of what may happen, because we just never know!

We think when we let go we will lose something important, we think we are giving up. The truth is, letting go is a form of strength, it makes room for new and gives peace of mind. Knowing that whatever happens will be a lesson or a blessing opens the door for being grateful for every experience even if it is not fun!
So what are you attached to?
Peace
