Mindfullness Is Connection to Self
Mindfulness -the art of being aware of what is happening in the present moment
- Tich Na Haan
One of the lessons I am currently learning is about being mindful. Being in the present moment when I am doing something or being around others, just being present full stop.
Confessions on the Journey - My phone has become part of my body. I walk around with it, I sleep with it, I go to the bathroom with it, I run with it. The only time I don't have it with me is when I am exercising with my trainer.
With mindfulness, I realised, that when the phone is with me I am not present where I am. I want to answer the messages, to check the IG, you name it, I find an excuse to be away from where I am and in another place aka the phone.
With mindfulness, being present involves giving everyone and everything my full attention until I am finished. Listen, it is harder than I thought because of old habits and conditioning. Since I have been mindful, I have realised that I enjoy being in the moment, that I feel so more connected and focused as opposed to splitting my time and getting piece of what is being offered in both areas.
Mindfulness in my eating as well. I would sit and eat with my phone going through messages or whatever caught my fancy. As I practice being mindful, sitting and eating outside on the porch is an entirely different experience.
I have learnt that being present is an opportunity to be with the Self, with the Source.
I will continue to practice it and see what happens
Peace

Co-creation is a collective enterprise
We do indeed create our own reality but we also influence each other’s reality. Co-creation is a collective enterprise.
Carolyn Myss
There is an entire debate in many parts of the US about reopening for business
because the economy is suffering.
When I first heard that I was shocked, and admittedly a little angry. I interpreted it to mean that the economy's suffering is more important than human's suffering.
I took it to mean that the businesses survival must come first above any person' survival.
People depend on the economy and the businesses to survive, rather than we need people, healthy people, to rebuild the economy and open businesses which wil now fit our post Rona world.
I really had to ground myself after seeing and putting meaning to this.
There is a school of thought that humans cannot do with businesses and working. Given our history and our current reality this indeed seems the case. I was hoping that this pause due to the Rona would provide us with an opportunity to change, to rework, to reboot how we approach many things. My anger came from seeing that the US in particular was not about to do that.
So what did I learn?
1. Keep doing your own retooling and re-working- your tribe will find you
2. Feel the anger, don't let it consume you, let it move you to act
3. Contribute positive energy to the conversation rather than complaining about what is.
Be very clear how you want to contribute to co-creation
4. Love people anyway
Peace

Beliefs demand loyalty
Beliefs demand loyalty. If you try to move away from the things you believe in, they will punish you. The belief will make you feel guilty. Guilt is your punushment for abandoning what you believe
Iyanla Vanzant
Many of us will go down fighting literally for what we believe. Don't get me wrong, I am not judging the choice to fight at all, I am merely making an observation.
We fight for what we believe in
We make it a point to stand in those beliefs.
My lesson has been balance.
What if those beliefs are not serving you anymore, not promoting your highest self?
When we question those beliefs we feel guilty
When we go against our beliefs in our actions we feel guilty.
The balance is in knowing what brings you peace and what is serving your highest self.
Question the beliefs when you are not at peace because usually when we are not at peace it means we must make another choice
What Beliefs Are You Loyal to?
Are they Punishing you?
Are you at peace?
Peace

Lessons in Getting Out of My Own Way
if no one else has said this to you. i am saying this to you. there is genius in you. there is splendor. wonder. gifts beyond gifts. Nayyirah Waheed Lessons in Getting Out of My Own Way1. Mixed Messages Confuse the Universe – be clear, get clear, make a decision, take action, learn as you go then adjust2. Resist the temptation to use the words “try” “ah trying ah ting” substitute it with I will, I must, I can – so much more powerful3. Stop watering dead things4. The Universe never judges or criticizes us, it only takes us at the value we place on ourselves and then reflects that back to us in our daily lives5. Stop hanging out with the “what’s wrong and who’s to blame crew” – hang out with the possibility tribe6. Get Still (stop the busyness, running, defending everything, fighting, hiding under a cause) Ask Yourself – what changes must I make to move forward and then sum of the courage to make them7. Love Yourself through it All

Share Your Gift With The World
I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle: be patient, bearing with one another in love.”
Ephesians 4:1,2
Yesterday I looked at what they called an IG Battle between two musicians. In this time there are so many innovative ways that are cropping up to keep us entertained and connected.
The premise of the IG Battle is that two musicians go against one another and they play or show their greatest works.
Apart from the fact that I throughly enjoyed the music, I learnt two things from the event
1. Keep it Simple - Sometimes Less is More. One of the musicians came on IG with a full band. One came with a guitar and a laptop - the full band was plauged with technical difficulties that the a huge chunk of the session had to be aborted.
2. Share your gifts with the world, whether the world is big or small, share it because your gifts will heal you and it will heal someone else. Imagine if the painters, writers, singers, dancers, gurus did not share their gifts how different the world would be
3. Humilty makes a difference. Why? Because it lets you and everyone know that even in a battle there is nothing to prove, nothing to fight about.Just to show up and do your best resting easy in the gift that you were given.
4. Be Gracious - A little bit of gratitude goes a long way
Peace

Worthy
You wasting time being in competition mode when this universe abundant and your expression is completely unique.
Dounia
Confessions on the Journey - I have been looking on at the number of people using the socia media platforms and Zoom to spread their messages during our new normal. I have been judging some of them. I felt that some felt forced, artificial. I admit that there was some judgement in the mix. Forgive me!
I have also been asked to join in the conversation by four people thus far, to lend my voice to the space. This uncertain time I have been told, calls for a voice of reason in the mix and I can add to the collective voice of reason.
I gave the request some thought and I chose to decline. I felt a strong urge in this time to go within. I felt a strong urge to not force it, I felt competitive in the space and that feeling did not bring me any peace. It is a time for collaboration and unity.
I believe that I can continue sharing my lessons in a way that is authentic, in a way that flows from my heart rather than rushing in when I feel fear or a level of competition.
I believe that I can join the conversation when it feels peaceful to me to do so. When my judgement is less present.
How many of us get into a situation out of fear?
How many of us push and push and push and wait on the results. When the results appear we expect more and go away disappointed?
How many of us do something out of being asked and not wanting to disapoint another?
Let us remember that our gifts will guide us, our passion will push us and our miracles are waiting for us, we never have to miss or force it.
Do not struggle to be worthy when you already are
Do not rush the river...wait
Peace

Being Fully Present
The Power of Mindfulness : Mindfulness is the energy of being aware of what is happening in the present moment. Recognize things as they are . Titch Nan HanI am always fasicnated when I am led to a message just in time and on time. A talk on mindfulness popped up on my feed over the past few days. This lesson resonated because I have found myself lately doing many things at the same time, then I get sidetracked and forgot my first intention. I sometimes have to laugh at myself and ask myself " Ok lady, what were you really wanting to do?"Or sometimes I may be doing a task and still thinking about what I could have done better with the task that I just completed. Then there is the anxiety of not completing the other tasks ahead of me in a timely manner.Mindfulness reminds me to be present where I am. All in. Then move on to the next thing. Where ever I am, be all there. Fully!I always thought that multitasking was so cool. Women in my family were praised for their ability to multi task. So for me, the ability to do so many tasks at the same time as a super power.I have learnt the difference between multi tasking and mindfulness. There can be many tasks on during a period however when on that particular task be fully there, not passing through thinking about the task done before and the upcoming one.Focus, be fully present and then move. What you focus on grows and so if we focus on worry about past and future, our worry will grow.Being Fully PresentPeace

This world is a book
This world is a book and your soul is the title page. ~ Rumi
I have been doing quite a bit of introspection during this time, asking myself some questions which I would not normally ask, but this is not a normal time.I came accross a reading from Hiro Boga that summed it up so well that I have shared it belowForget handling your to-do list; how do you handle the weight of the world? The thing is, the weight of the world is not yours to carry — at least, not all by yourself. You are responsible for doing your part, for contributing, through your choices and actions, to the wholeness and healing of the world. But you are just one among many, many others who also work diligently towards this end. All you have to do is your part.If you want to live in a world filled with kindness, love, safety, respect, creativity and compassion, then begin by cultivating those qualities in your inner kingdom first. As you embody them in your own life, you change your personal ecology, which then changes the world around you.The only way to do this is to consciously engage. You can’t cultivate soul qualities by ignoring your feelings, or by transcending the rub of everyday life.
Whatever form your activism takes — whether it’s writing and speaking on behalf of social justice causes, community organizing, getting out the vote in your district, donating to support organizations that are doing the work on the ground, or something else — it will be far more effective when it’s grounded in your inner sovereignty and embodied truth.

Believe in Yourself or Who's Gonna?
I know my higher self is over me asking questions I already know just so I can get confirmation outside of myself
. Azuree
I was having a conversation with someone very dear to me about post Covid. What my strategy ought to be post Covid.
I set out some ideas, how I see them rolling out, writing a book, some other programmes. I had a mouthful.
She listened intently and her response was "I strongly suggest that your strategy out to be SELF BELIEF, believe in your self more and own it"
Well, confessions on the journey, I certainly did not expect that response at all.
And what resonated more is that she was absolutely spot on!
Simply, believe.
We all know that simple is not always easy
What great can we do without self belief?
What great can we do when the doubts over take us?
Not much!
So the strategy has been set - Believe in yourself or who's gonna?
Peace

The Search is Over
Love Gives Without Limits, For it Cannot be Contained
ACIM
One of my favourite lessons on love is learning that I AM Love.
Learning that I don't have to go looking for something that I already am, what I must do is remember who I am and look at the barriers that I have erected to give and receive love.
This leasson has put so much in perspective for me especially after a really difficult divorce.
I was in a mindset of ,I have to go out looking for love, then that switched to wait maybe I will never find love so let me just stop looking.
Now I know that - the search is over - You are it! You are the Love that you so seek.
When that clicked and I believed it, oh my word, how things changed.
How I showed up in the world, How I behaved, what I chose and declined.
I remembered that love can take many forms, there are many ways that love can show up and there are many things masquerading as love that are not at all loving.
Love does not bargain
Love does not demand we hide ourselves
Love is freedom and Love is You
Getting to this place of belief:
takes practice.
It takes courage
It takes believing
It takes showing up.
It takes willingness.
Peace
