Happy Birthday to Me
I know that we must make healthy choices in everything from food to lovers, and must take care of ourselves rather than always being anxious about the response of others. I know we must feel comfortable in our skin, no matter what shade it is.
Susan L Taylor
Confessions on the Journey - I have about 3 things that I fear for real for real for real ( that's 3 for real's, s its a lot of fear!)
1. I fear getting into water as I cannot swim
2. I fear dying alone
3. I fear getting old
Today is my birthday. The fear comes up like a beast annually, and came up like one tday! I invited it in this morning and we had a chat!
We spoke about embracing the present moment, we spoke about the wisdom that comes with experience, we spoke about the dreams unfulfilled that I have an opportunity to still fulfil if I so desire, and we spoke about how there ain't nothing that I can do to change this annual thing!
And to end it all we spoke about how great I look!
And with that the fear subsided, I was able to be in the moment and accept what was in front of me. I woke up early and took a hike to Avocat Falls on the North Coast, it was absolutely stunning and in that moment I let those fears go!
Happy Birthday to me
Peace

Trust Influence Behaviours
“Trust yourself, you know more than you think you do.”
– Benjamin Spock
Trust influences choices and behaviours
I keep that in the forefront of my mind. When we trust ourselves we can trust that our decisions are made with little or no need for validation from others, from permission from others and time passing tdue to indecision.
We recognise that even if we make a mistake or the proverbial shit hits fan we trust that we will be okay, whatever the decision is!
We trust that we can recover and move forward.
Our choices determine the type of lives we live because life is made up a combination of all our choices
The beautiful thing is that we can always make another choice until we transition from this life
There is absolutely no valid reason to sit in a situation that is no longer serving you when you can make another choice.
Make another choice and trust yourself, two of the best lessons that I have learnt thus far
Peace

Ask and You Shall Receive
You want help? Ask for help. You want love? Ask for love. If you want anything from the universe, anything from yourself, you must first ask.”
― Kamand KojouriAsking for support was never my strong point, I had this belief that asking for support showed that I was weak! I never even questioned that thought. I thought that asking exposed my own failings so it was easier and better to suck it up,or hide, or lay low until I fixed "it." Lay low until the storm passed or some other scene happened which would not allow me to ask anyone for anything! It was tiring! It was soul destroying. It was stoopid! And then shit hit fan, I had to do inner work. I learnt if, I cannot receive, I cannot give!Giving and Receving go hand in hand.I judged those who asked as weak, so I saw myself as weak.UnconsciouslyI also learnt that asking and giving to the weak is giving with conditions. Giving ought to be from the heart, for the joy of it, for the love, for the service.People generally like to help and support others, the way that life is set up, we are all connected, connection lends itself to support, and the best way to get support is to ask for it, with a clean heart, no judgement, for the greater good.Time and time when I forget I am reminded. The Universe works just like that!In July, the Nina Programme hosts a camp for young ladies. We, the awesome Pat and Avinash who support me no matter what, work in partnership with a care home for girls. As it happens it is a sponsored camp. Uusally by now we have the funds lined up, the place sorted and are ready to roll. As of yesterday we did not have the dime nor any promises of any!I was sad, I was down. I said I would cancel it.I woke up this morning and said "wait a minute? who did I ask?"
Then the inside chatter came flooding, the feelings of being weak, of me failing and not handling my business, truth be told I really spent little time on raising funds having been pulled in different directions over the past five months.I decided to ignore the chatter and ask people.I sat down and asked people who were friends, people who I met on the Journey.By the end of me asking I had some of the funds to start!
Ask for what you want, be clear, be willing to hear no, be willing to do the work, be willing to receive, be willing to ask again!
I am so grateful for the lessons
The NiNa Programme will commence on July 9th 2018Thank you to all who contributed

Check Yourself
To end the misery that has afflicted the human condition for thousands of years, you have to start with yourself and take responsibility for your inner state at any given moment. That means now
. –Eckhart Tolle
When you find yourself saying more than more, that it is someone else's fault, or blaming something or someone else for where you are in life or making external things the reason for you doing or not being able to do something. It is time to check yourself!
When it's never your fault - check yourself!
When you keep telling others that things are just not going to change - check yourself!
When you start saying that the The Universe and Your maker, however you call that person, just does not want you to use your gifts to live a joyous life - check yourself!
When you have done absolutely no work and say that "prayers will work" - check yourself!
When you have no faith in your vision, no faith in yourself - yourself!
People, we have a responsibility. An ability to respond to what is around us!
Constantly coming up with a different reason or excuse when things are not changing - that is living in denial
There is a difference between patience and denial
Patience is doing the work, having the faith and waiting for a result to manifest.
doing the work +having the faith
its goes together
Denial can be doing the same thing over and over and expecting something to change or ignoring doing the work praying that by some magic alone things will change
Check Yourself!
Echart Tolle says your choices can accept it, change it or leave.
If you are doing none of those then chances are you may be blaming, making excuses, living in denial or doubt. - Check Yourself!
Peace

Lessons from a Recovering "I'm Not Good Enough" Addict
"Not-enoughness is a concept, a feeling, a belief.
Not-enoughness is the constant feeling of dread you walk around with that says I must have, I must get, and acquire more to prove to everyone that I am worthy. The feeling of not-enoughness will not go away no matter how much you accumulate because it usually comes from a place of fear."

Fully Express Them
Emotions are one of the most beautiful parts of a human being and they should not be denied, suppressed or judged.
Many of us have given a great deal of our energy and power away to our emotions because we have not allowed ourselves to fully express them.
We end up holding onto them for years giving them great power to control us. When we allow them to be expressed we allow them the freedom to be released. If we deny our emotions we end up fragmenting ourselves creating all kinds of alter egos that get stored in our energy body . Sabrina Reber
Total penny dropping moment yesterday
One of the things that moves us out of situation where it seems difficult to let go is....wait for it
admitting our feelings and telling the truth to ourselves!
That's it folks!
By now you know, many of the solutions are simple, we just make it complicated.
Admit the fact that you still want what is not in your best intersts
maybe it is admitting that you want the person who is not ready to commit
maybe it is admitting that you want the job only because you are afraid that you may not find another one, that your bills cannot be paid
maybe it's admitting that you love those potato chips too much
Whatever it is!
Admit it to yourself and tell the truth
You, denying the truth will keep you there! You denying it will prevent the moving forward.
when you admit and accept, get still! You may not have to make a decision at once.
When you admit and accept, feel the feelings, cry, week, scream, stay in your PJ's if you must
Regroup and then come again
Peace

Your Purpose Brings You Joy
Everybody's purpose will not be there job, your purpose may not make you money. Some of us will have it as a job and some of us will not.Your purpose is what makes you joy
. Iyanla Vanzant
Many times on the journey I am asked the question "how do I find my purpose?"
or "how can my purpose make me money?"
Somehow purpose and loads of money have been linked. we have started believing that once we find our purpose that we become wealthy, we become problem free, we become famous. Am...newsflash life continues. I will admit life will be more fulfilling when one knows their purpose and yes the money comes. However it is not an automatic pill! There is still work to be done, discipline to be brought to the fore, and belief in self to be demonstrated.
What I have learnt is,
1. We don't have to FIND our purpose- we know it. We have to believe, we have to bring it to the fore, we have to move forward and be obedient when we get the nudgings from the Universe.
2. The execution of your purpose is linked to your beliefs- if we believe in lack, limitation, how it looks to others, external validation then executing our purpose becomes even more challenging. If we have a strong self belief the purpose manifests itself in reality. Maybe not how we would like it to look. Be open to something new.
3. Your purpose may not bring you an award or loads of money, but it will bring you joy and an inner peace.
4. Get still and know- stop looking at other people, other circumstances, and go within.

Do you listen to your Internal critic?
Everyone has a different version of an internal critic, and anyone who tells you that they are "fearless" and that they no longer have internal criticisms is...in total denial.
Kate Courageous
I have an internal critic - Confessions on the Journey!
That internal voice that speaks or sometimes shouts at me about...let's see
1. My weight
2. Did I say My weight?
3. Managing money
4. Did I say managing money?
5. How long my goals are taking to manifest
There are other ramblings, but the ones stated above, are on rotation.
What I have learnt however is,
I can hear the voice, answer and not let it run my life. I can hear it and not act or not act on it.
I invite it in, I ask the voice "is what you are saying true?"
I ask "who told you this to tell me?"
I ask "what are you here to show me that's useful"
(PS - if you are going to ask - don't ask it out loud in the company of others, trust me!)
then I move forward.
Is it easy? Nope
Is it worth it? Yup!
This approach has saved me not just unnecessary stress, but it continually pushes me out of my comfort zone.
I have also learnth that - Out of comfort zone is where the lessons and the fun is!
So, accept that there will be a voice, it may be a tad bit critical, it may be extremely critical, it may be stressing you out but it is really up to you what you do with the chatter!
Make up a system to cope
Just don't let it run you
Peace

Reprogramme Your Consciousness
Reprogramme yourself, Reprogramme Your Beliefs. Update. Replace.Reboot Your Consciousness
- Iyanla Vanzant
I have been listening to Iyanla Vanzant's Fixin Online Course, the topic is Relationships, and there have so many penny dropping moments, it literally stopped me in my tracks.
What caught me was the concept of relationships being a mirror. The people that come into your life mirror either how you feel about yourself or what you need to heal.
A mirror or what you need to heal!
I had to ask myself - ok who are the mirrors. When I realised who were the mirrors I took a deep breath- do you mean I have been treating my own self like this? No bloody way!!! total wake up call!
Looking at the relationships in my life with these lens have given me a different perspective. One of discernment and compassion.
What do I need to heal
What do I need to change
What do I need to adjust
What do I need to forgive
Peace

The Three P's of Relationships
The three P’s—passion, power and pain—that are part of every relationship - Iyanla Vanzant
All relationships I have learnt takes a certain amount of vested interest. How we show up in our relationships will determine how we show out.
Relationships mirror back to us where we are, what we are thinking, consciously, subsoncsiously and un consciously.
Look at the relationships in your life and they tell you a story, or maybe the lack of relationships
Be the relationship
Work
Friendship
Family
Intimate
our relationships tell us a story
The challenge comes in when we have conflicts, differing opinions and want our own way When we act and make decisions on fear and people pleasing.
There are tools which we can use to resolve conflicts, what happens is a combination of us not knowing these tools, not wanting to use these tools for many varied reasons including ego and wanting to be right and wanting to not look "bad" and the clincher is admitting our mistakes
Who likes admitting making a mistake?
All of it is part of the process, taking all as lessons and being comfortable with the discomfort knowing that in the long run its for a better situation.
Feel it all, the feelings are only guides
Peace
