an angels kiss in spring
Will you help me find 6 poetic devices in the song "Lolita" by Lana Del Rey?
One that creates rhyme & is repetitive -
“Hey, Lolita, hey I know what the boys want, I’m not gonna play”
An anapest example -
“Would you be mine? Would you be my baby tonight? Could be kissing my fruit punch lips in the bright sunshine.”
If you just look up an example of devices and then look at the lyrics of the song, you should have no problem! I hope it goes good, love!

it is that I want to become.

He tells you that you are the most
beautiful thing he has ever seen
yet he is taking someone else home.
He texts you lyrics from his favorite
songs and tells you that these lines
remind him of you the most, but he
is making a mixtape with the same
songs and giving it to someone
who isn’t you. He tells you that he
will wait for you, will always want
you but he is waking up on Sunday
morning, in bed with someone else
while you are at home wondering
if you will ever be enough.

"The sun is shining so bright
but you keep all your blinds closed.
You don’t touch..."
but you keep all your blinds closed.
You don’t touch your breakfast
even after it took you an hour to make.
You felt hungry at first, but when the food
was on the plate before you, you lost your appetite.
Everything reminds you of them;
things, songs, but mostly places.
You don’t want to leave your house
but your room still smells like their love.
It takes you hours to put yourself together,
to shower, to find an outfit and the energy
to start your car and leave the driveway.
Every place that you drive past reminds you
of them. The park where you first kissed,
the sidewalk where they first held your hand
in public, the coffee shop where they told you
you were the only one. You keep telling yourself
that tomorrow will be better, that it will feel better.
That today is meant to be spent aching over reminders
and reassuring yourself that you did the right thing.”
