Now THAT'S art!

Here's an idea: Go to a yard sale and buy a cheap landscape painting. The more boring, the better!

Then paint a monster in it. That's what this guy does!

Yummy Vegetable Drink Creature!

In Japan, they have a vegetable drink called Yasaiseikatsu, which means "vegetable life". In ads, its mascot is a weird orange bird-thing called Asakatsutori ("lively morning bird"). An advertising example below!

Classic Books…in LATIN!

Latin rules! Or at least, Latin used to rule, back in the days when it was the official language of the ancient Roman Empire. And from that mighty position, Latin helped create later languages like English, Spanish, and Klingon.

There are lots of good reasons to learn Latin phrases. After all, there are hundreds of thousands of Latin roots in English, and the legal system is full of Latin phrases. And these Latin words are super easy to learn. For example, do you know the Latin word for "Ouch!"? It's "Uah!"

See what I mean?

But the best reason to know some Latin is so you can translate children's books into Latin. The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and Winnie the Pooh are great… as is Walter the Farting Dog! List of Latin kids' books here.

Why is this cat jumping for joy?

Because it just finished painting a masterpiece!

You may be wondering why cats paint in the first place. I learned all about why cats paint in this fine book:

Via.
