Like me, you probably find this infuriating.

Not because there shouldn't be quotation marks around this Brady Bunch book title, although that IS annoying. ("The Treasure of Mystery Island," indeed!)
No, the thing that makes my blood boil is that they left Alice out of the cover photo. What were they THINKING?!
From here.

Writing in a Bookstore Window, Day V

I left my laptop alone for two minutes, only to return and find that my novel had been rewritten . . . for the better!

Friday's take: A bag of peanuts (yes, I work for peanuts) and a note reading, "Here's a tip: Booksellers make excellent characters!"

Tai = One cool kid.

ME: Would you like to know how I wrote The Big Book of Girl Stuff? It's actually a fascinating story, blahblah—
GIRL: Just sign the book, baldy.
So, after a week of writing in a bookstore window, would I
ever try to a cheap stunt like this again? Well, here's how I'll be working for the next few months.

Want to get all of your holiday shopping done at once?

Just buy 15 copies of the computer game "Street Cleaning Simulator."
People will LOVE you for this; who doesn't want to keep the streets clean?

Writing in a Bookstore Window, Day IV

A reader stopped by to read my F.A.Q.s. Afterwards, he took note of my tip jar, and left me something for it, namely . . .

"Make sure to get a good night's sleep"?!
We are not amused.

That brought my tip jar take to one skull-and-crossbones and one piece of advice regarding sleeping habits.

Fortunately, I was able to laugh it off with the help of Jeff Smith's wonderful Bone series.

Writing in a Bookstore Window: Day III!

A young man named Jack startled me
with his Richard Nixon impression.

"Like this?"

Wednesday's
tip jar take:
$2!

Moments later, someone sent me a picture of sleeping panda cubs. The cuteness sent me into a temporary coma.

While paralyzed, I saw the most wonderful visions!
