I don’t just write books.

Bloodmark_quotes_climbinside

As I finish up my revisions of Bloodrealms, the second novel in the Bloodmark Saga,in final preparation for my editor to receive it, I realize that I don’t just write books, I climb inside and live there. The entire experience of writing Bloodrealms was like returning to my old friends and picking up the adventure right where we left off, as though no time had passed between writing. I am endlessly thrilled about Bloodrealms and I can’t wait to share it with the world. It’s so good!Bloodrealm...

Bloodmark at Breen’s

breens_pharmacy

When I was growing up in Benson, it was a big deal to go to Breen’s Pharmacy. They have a fun cafe counter where we would sit down and order a burger and a tiny glass of pop. And while we waited they had an entire store full of great things to look at and eventually I’d fall in love with something and try to convince my parents I desperately needed it. They have everything from cards, picture frames, glass figures to books and jewelry. I could walk the aisles over and over again looking for p...

Fantastical Adventures Through the Paper Realms

creepy_woods2

An amazing review on Fantastical Adventures Through the Paper Realm. Now don’t be fooled by the 3 Star rating on the review of Bloodmark. She says so many amazing things about the book! I couldn’t be more thrilled. I have to quote Emilee, “Allow yourself to get lost in this novel. Curl up inside of it and breathe it in deeply. Look to it for enjoyment, don’t criticize it. You can find things to criticize, but you’d be robbing yourself of an awesome story.” You have to read her review, it’s pr...

Bloodmark Solar and Lunar Calendar

Sketching Bloodmark

Bloodmark Lunar Solar Calendar

While creating the world within the Bloodmark Saga and writing the first book Bloodmark and the second Bloodrealms, I started taking Celtic and Pagan histories and combining them with Bloodmark’sworld, and what came out was a calendar. An entirely hand drawn wheel of the year.

The Bloodmark Calendar is a solar/lunar ritual calendar including seasonal festivals. The Elder Gods rule the celebrations of Beltaine, Lughnasadh, Samhain, and Imbolc with royal and nobel packs with the Tree of Life at...

Bloodmark Marketing

I was invited to do a book signing for Bloodmark at McKinney’s in Benson, MN and I had a blast. A bunch of people stopped out to see me! I got to catch up with some old family friends that knew my mom and some old friends of mine. My sixth grade teacher even came to visit! I was thrilled to see Pat Wagenman, she was the teacher who read True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle by AVI to my class, and hooked me on reading and writing. She told me and two of my best friends what she remembered about...

A Year in Tears

Aurora Whittet and her mom

A year to the day. It seems so very much longer than that. The anniversary of my mom’s death. March 28, you will never be the same. You will always haunt my thoughts. You will always be there reminding me what I lost, reminding me what I loved, reminding me what can never be replaced.

I dream of her so frequently that sometimes when I open my eyes in the morning I forget she’s gone. As though I had stolen a few more precious moments with her in my dreams and they have become my new memories.

I...

A Little Love from a Twi-Hard

Keeper's Book Reviews Bloodmark a Twi-hard perspective

So the review of Bloodmark on the Keeper’s Book Reviews, isn’t exactly a positive one for most of the read. Preethi is a Twi-Hard, they can be a hard nut to crack. For the most part she rips Bloodmark apart for her various reasons, but the part I find intriguing is despite her squabbles with Bloodmark, she still says, “Surprisingly, this werewolf book was actually pretty good.” Then she goes on to say, “I’ll probably read the second book in the series.” And finally she scores it a 3/5 star, w...

Literary Litter

Literary Litter reviews Bloodmark by Aurora Whittet

Literary Litter reviews Bloodmark! There are several awesome lessons to be learned from this review and one of them is something the whole world should know. I sent Bloodmark to Shawn of Literary Litter back in November, and in March I still hadn’t seen a post yet, so I reached out to her to check in and see if she needed anything from me. She realized she had read the book and hadn’t yet posted about it because lets all face it, life happens.

In all relationships both personal and professiona...
