Excitement on the Horizon
There are so many moving parts in the Bloodmark world right now. It’s incredible. My editor reviewed my last round of edits, had a couple questions, I answered them she approved them and . . . THE NOVEL IS DONE BEING EDITED! And is officially being submitted to the proofer. Wahoooo! So I should have that back from the proofer in about two weeks.
Then I can look at all the changes and commit them. And then the novel is ready to be flowed into the book template that I’m working on designing now....

My Final Edit!
I am proud to announce I have completed my final edit of Bloodmark! I submitted it late last night to my lovely editor Amy at WiseInk. Now it’s her turn to do her final edit of the novel and then on to the proofer for proper grammar and spelling. I can’t believe how fast this is all going, how much I’ve accomplished and how amazing this journey really is. Check out all the steps I’ve gone through so far and will be going through in the next few months.

Bloodmark Tattoos
The official Bloodmark custom temporary tattoos have arrived! I’m so excited. I had the Boru Pack, Killian Pack, Dvergar Pack and the Hunters Mark created as temporary tattoos to help promote the Bloodmark novel as well as they are reward tiers for the Kickstarter project I did last winter. Check out the great pack Bloodmarks on my lovely hand/body models! Brett Stone with the Killian Pack, Brian Whittet with the Hunters, Chris Ryba-Tures with the Dvergar, Betsy Defenbaugh and myself with the...

The Romance of Candlelight
We returned from our trip to the Killdeer Mountains in North Dakota to find our house and the entire neighborhood without power and it won’t return for a few more days. So here I sit in the dark, working on the final draft of the novel by the beauty of candlelight. It is a bit romantic.
Thanks to my husband for capturing this moment.

A New Beginning
My mom was beautiful, vivacious and amazing. She cared about everyone around her and her love shined on everyone. The loss we all feel after her passing is a much greater pain than any of us could have guessed. Her love was so much apart of me that now there is a gaping hole. In the months without her, I’ve tried to call her nearly everyday, I’ve cried myself to sleep and I’ve missed her with every piece of soul. I’ve pitied myself and I’ve been angry.
But, today is her birthday. And we have c...

Is it a Loss or an Investment
All creative adventures have the moment of truth, whether we want to hear it or not. I have officially faced mine. The glass half full or half empty moment. By the time the novel is for sale to the public on November 1, 2013, I will have spent over 10k on the project. When all the first print of the novel sells, I will still have a significant loss. When you print with a traditional publisher and literary agent you as an author don’t take the “risk”, they do. Had I gone this route I would hav...

Delightful Batch of Updates
It’s been a busy week in the world of Bloodmark. My editor and I are working on getting estimates for printing the novel, the synopsis is nearly perfect, the bio is done, the custom tattoos have been ordered, meeting scheduled for the t-shirt production next week, the marketing plan is almost complete, the cover art is done, head-shots selected, I’m just finishing the production details for the bookmarks and my first round through the edit is only 46 pages from complete! Only 5 chapters and 4...

Eerie Elegance
I had the honor to work with the amazing Eliesa Johnson of Photogen Inc. for my headshots. She is such a delightful person, talented beyond measure, and she always makes me both look and feel beautiful. Not many people can make you look and feel pretty at the same time. We shot in Stillwater, Minnesota in a wooded area and on the rocky beaches.
When all was said and done, we had a blast catching up and playing in the woods. What an honor it is to be a part of nature and art. Then I received th...

If You Need Me I’m in the Fetal Position.
There are days when I just want to curl up in the fetal position and weep. Despite my excitement about writing, publishing, design and my love ofBloodmark. I find myself endlessly frustrated today and generally want to scream, but I can’t because my sweet baby is sleeping. So silent screams it is . . .
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I’m struggling to figure out printing costs compared to cost of book, to not losing money. Please note, if you haven’t read my previous posts, I hate math, numbers, reality a...
