Designing Bloodmark

Being a designer myself I took on the challenge of creating all of bloodmarkspromotional items, websites and of course the book itself. From tshirts, tattoos, the elements on blog andmy author site, bookmarks to the dust jacket and typography.

Kickstarter Fulfillment — Phase One

I’m so proud to announce that the Kickstarter rewards have started being shipped out! The tshirts and temporary tattoos left my hands this morning on their journeys out into the world. I can’t possibly thank all those people enough. They really helped fund this project and inspired me. Every single dollar donated made a difference on this project.I love you all! And am so greatful that you joined me on this wild journey.

Bloodmark has Been Sent to Print

I officially upload the Bloodmark design files to the printer! I can’t believe it! The day is truely here. Bloodmark is in prepress, I’m so excited to be working with Friesen to print the hardcover book. I can’t wait to hold one of my books in my hands. I might even kiss it.

Bloodmark Bookmarks!

I designed Bloodmark bookmarks for promotional handouts during events and for my Kickstarter pack. Literary Membership

I’m officially a member of the LOFT Literary Center of Minneapolis! Felt pretty stinkin’ cool to get my membership card in the mail. The LOFT is insideOpen Book, which is an amazing place to visit especially if you love type. They have nearly endless amounts of lead type and antique letterpresses. You can feel the energy of all those there to create something, whether art or words, it is powerfully inspiring.

The Bloodmark tshirts for the Kickstarter project are complete for September shipment. Right on schedule! Thanks to the guys and gals over at Coldside for their brilliant screenprinting work. The Life-cyle of Writing

When I started writing Bloodmark I didn’t anticipate all the intricate steps that Bloodmark would go through before it finally reached the final version. From my first crappy version to professional editing to proofing and finally to completion, it took over a year.
