I hail from the planet, Southern California. I'm guilty of most Californian cliches. Aside from being an insecure writer, I'm also a classically trained chef who never cooks, a baker who believes carbs are a gift from the Gods, an activist, and an exhausted autism mom. ...more

Movies, music, books, pictures. A conversation. My inspiration for my latest book came from a conversation I had with my mother about dogs sensing heart attacks, or seizures in humans. There's inspiration all around us, we just have to be mindful to look and listen for it. (less)

I'm not sure how I missed all of these questions for 2 whole years, but I'll answer them now...

I had just graduated from culinary school and was debating on what to do afterward. School was a full time gig. Five-Six days a week, and anywhere between 6-12 hour days. It was grueling, and it took over my life, my thoughts, my everything for an entire year. After graduation I felt lost. There were many changes happening in my personal life at the same time. I've always kept a journal, and I write more when I'm going through a rough patch in life, so I started writing in my journal.

A mixture of my personal struggles and feeling lost without school turned my journal entires into a fictional story. Placing myself back in school, back in the drama, and far away from my reality at the time.

That's how my first story was born. A few of my friends from culinary school knew I was writing about our experiences, and they encouraged me to publish. So I did. The rest is history.

Sex, Love and Food Porn

Never in a million years did I think I would be writing my first blog about my first novel on this lovely day. You see this little lady could never truly commit to any one job/career in life. So, what did I do? I tried everything..Dog grooming, photography, journalism, cake making genius. It wasn't until my life so graciously through me a curve ball covered in cow manure that I felt like I had not Read more of this blog post »
