Goodreads asked Trish Anderson:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Trish Anderson I'm not sure how I missed all of these questions for 2 whole years, but I'll answer them now...

I had just graduated from culinary school and was debating on what to do afterward. School was a full time gig. Five-Six days a week, and anywhere between 6-12 hour days. It was grueling, and it took over my life, my thoughts, my everything for an entire year. After graduation I felt lost. There were many changes happening in my personal life at the same time. I've always kept a journal, and I write more when I'm going through a rough patch in life, so I started writing in my journal.

A mixture of my personal struggles and feeling lost without school turned my journal entires into a fictional story. Placing myself back in school, back in the drama, and far away from my reality at the time.

That's how my first story was born. A few of my friends from culinary school knew I was writing about our experiences, and they encouraged me to publish. So I did. The rest is history.
