Emma wakes in a hospital, wit...

The Music behind #ARCHETYPE
Music inspiration didn't come easy while writing this novel, which has never happened before. But this particular song happened along, and it felt so much like Emma... Let me put it to you this way: it was startling.
You can find more music inspiration for ARCHETYPE on my Pinterest page. Repin the cover and earn entry points in the ARC giveaway!

Meet #ARCHETYPE ~ Foster & Sonya
Foster… Nothing much to say about him without giving things away.
For me, he’s that guy friend every girl should have. Definitely one of my favorite characters in the book. (Might have something to do with the occasional snarky remark…)
“You can be such a girl sometimes,” he said.
I reached up and smacked his uniformed shoulder. “I am a girl.”
“No, you aren’t,” he said and shrugged. “Well, not always.”
“My husband would tell you I am all the time.”
“Your husband gets to go places...

Meet #ARCHETYPE ~ Dr. Travista
Here we are on day 4, and this week wouldn’t be complete without Arthur Travista.
While Travista is a supporting cast member, I really think of him as a main. He’s in the novel so much, and plays such a huge part in everything that happens to Emma. She likes to say that Declan molds her into the woman she becomes, but I think Travista plays a huge part in that as well.
Travista is a genius. That’s all there is to it. He has worked for the Burke family his entire adult life, which makes him...

Meet #ARCHETYPE ~ Noah
Today, I give you, Noah.
(Did you just hear a few swoony sighs? I think I just heard some swoony sighs.)
Telling you about Noah is going to be difficult, but I’m going to give it a try…
Mmmm… Never mind. I’m just going to let this snippet speak for itself.
Noah turns to face me with an expression that is almost friendly. He plays for any audience we may have in the room, but his eyes reveal the same bloodlust from the hallway. I am not fooled.
“You let...

Meet #ARCHETYPE ~ Declan

Today I want to introduce you to Declan, CEO of Burke Enterprises and Emma’s husband. He’s one of those characters who was supposed to be one thing, but ended up something else entirely.
He makes me sigh, people.
Emma wakes up with no memory, and no knowledge of how the world works. She has to learn how to do everything down to speech. In a sense, she’s a newborn, and Declan teaches her. He’s patient and kind. He’s incredibly sexy. He’s protective…
…even if it means protecting her from her...

Meet #ARCHETYPE ~ Emma
In preparation for the ARC giveaway next week, I thought I’d introduce you to the cast. So today, I’m starting with the heroine, Emma.
I like to think of Emma as having a mind of her own. She wrote ARCHETYPE, and I wrote PROTOTYPE. She had a real-life story to tell, and I just made some stuff up that could have happened after.
Emma is mild in manner, but knows what she wants. And she’ll get it. Believe me. For example, she woke me at 1 in the morning in September 2011 with these words:
In...

Charissa: We swear we do serious things like mother our children and write fecking cool books, but today we decided to have a little fun.

Chariss...
