10+ ideas to incorporate your creative life in your blog

There’s always much more to us than just our bookworm side. I love it when bloggers talk about their hobbies on their blog!

So here’s a list of ways you can do that on your blog.

A post on why your creative pursuit is important to you. Does it relax you, help you get rid of stress? A post on how you started doing X. Similar to the first one. Well, okay very, very similar, but this is more focused on the story of how you came to discover this was something you are passionate about. A How-t...

How to go to a party and survive socially and mentally

Last december, I went to a party.

For most people, that’s no big deal. For some, the odd thing would not to go to one at least once a week. But for me, it was the first party ever, excluding weddings, quinceañeras and children parties. And I was a big awkward mess, thinking about what could go wrong.

Now, nobody was forcing me. It was the birthday of two friends, and they were celebrating with dancing and drinking and you know… a party. And I just thought, why not? 90% of the guests were p...

Book Blogger Organization Posts + Checklist

Replying to comments? Being actually social in social media? Who has time for that? The problem is that it isn’t that we hate it. If we hated it, we wouldn’t do it at all, and wouldn’t feel so guilty about it.

Since we’re at the topic of organization, I thought it’d be nice to recap my organization posts so that it’s easier to find them!

4 Practical Steps to Get Organized with Blog+School

I’ve always loved this one because it’s something we all struggle with. If not with school, then wit...

A book of monsters, a disgrace and a kickass heroine

I’m so excited to do this omg. Like promised, from now own, I’ll be adding mini reviews in spanish of books I’ve read in spanish. For the longest time I’ve felt like I should incorporate spanish in some way to my blog if I couldn’t commit to translating everything. So here we go!

Estos son libros que leí en español, y por lo tanto ustedes también pueden porque ya han sido traducidos!

How do you prefer to read reviews?

Time and time again we’ve established that an important part of being a book blogger is reviewing books (you don’t need to do it though, read this post about what it means to be a book blogger). However, the thing is, to make people read them, there are so many things to consider:

The book’s popularity The book’s age Whether it’s a known author If the cover looks amateurish And then, the we actually review

Aside from not writing a review altogether, there’s only one thing we can contro...

A month of new books, renewed motivation and perpetual exhaustion

Happy Birthday to me!

I hadn’t done a Wrap-up post in forever. I didn’t get any new books in May per se, but the novelty of having acquired about 12 in april hasn’t worn off. I’ve barely made a dent on them, but that’s a good thing because I don’t want to read them all yet. At the same time though, I want to read them cover to cover!

Motivation levels fluctuating but mostly high

I’m trying to keep myself motivated in general, to write, and to, you know, wake up in the morning and face the...

The Puzzle Framework Part 2: Arranging the Pieces

This part of the framework is outlining in its purest sense. This is where it gets insteresting and we have to play with our story’s structure.

Why I now swear by story structure

All I used to know about story structure was that there was an introduction, or exposition; then the conflict, and then the resolution.

The end.

It was no surprise then that my first attempts at writing were sloppy, and cringe-worthy, at best. It all began changing once I learned more about what really went on...

Not Sure if Diverse Blogger, But Damn Sure Diverse

So, the blogging community has already adopted the label ‘Diverse blogger’, and it’s something easy to remember and anyway, it’s already accepted as the phrase that describes a blogger who isn’t either white, or able-bodied, cis-gendered, or any of the other ‘default’ characteristics.

But a lot of people are having a hard time identifying that way because of its wide connotation.

I was inspired to write this sort of response post from Jo, at Once Upon a Bookcase’s post about finding it dif...
