Dios Está Trabajando Todas las Cosas para tú Bien

“Y sabemos que Dios hace que todas las cosas cooperen para el bien de quienes lo aman y son llamados según el propósito que él tiene para ellos” Romanos 8:28 (NTV)

 

Dios es un Dios bueno, y Él tiene buenos planes para tu vida. Otras personas tienen malos planes para tu vida, y puedes tener algunos planes malos para ti mismo, pero Dios solo tiene buenos planes para tu vida.

No todo en tu vida puede ser bueno –Dios no prometió eso. Él nunca dijo que todo lo que te sucedería sería bueno. Amigo, vivimos en un planeta imperfecto. Nada funciona perfectamente. Tu cuerpo es imperfecto. No siempre funciona de la forma correcta. Tu mente es imperfecta. No siempre piensa de la forma correcta. El clima es imperfecto, la economía es imperfecta. Las relaciones son imperfectas. Nada es perfecto.

Dios no nos prometió perfección. ¡A eso se le llama cielo!, donde no hay tristeza, pena, enfermedad ni sufrimiento. No debemos esperar que el cielo esté en la tierra, porque la tierra está llena de imperfección. Pero aún en medio de todo este quebrantamiento, Dios tiene un buen plan para tu vida. Él es más grande que tus malas decisiones, y Él puede corregir incluso la peor decisión en un buen plan. ¡Qué buen Dios! Él puede convertir las crucifixiones en resurrecciones.

La Biblia dice en Romanos 8:28, “Y sabemos que Dios hace que todas las cosas cooperen para el bien de quienes lo aman y son llamados según el propósito que él tiene para ellos” (NTV). Esto no es una promesa para todo el mundo. No todas las cosas cooperen para el bien de todos. Sino que todas las cosas cooperan para el bien de quienes dicen, “Dios, te doy mi vida. Quiero cumplir el propósito para el cual me creaste” e incluso entonces, no dice que todas las cosas sean buenas. Dice que todas las cosas cooperan para tu bien –incluso lo malo e incluso lo amargo.

¿Te has dado cuenta de que cuando horneas un pastel, los ingredientes individuales no saben bien? La harina por sí misma no sabe bien. Los huevos crudos no saben bien. La vainilla sola no sabe bien. Pero mezcla todo, y podrás crear una deliciosa pieza de arte.

Cuando permites que Dios trabaje en todos los “ingredientes” juntos, Dios puede tomar la amargura, ponerla en la masa, y hacerte mejor. ¿Por qué? Porque Él es un Dios bueno.

Entre más ores, vas a conocer mejor tu propósito. Y entre mejor conozcas tu propósito, Dios va a usar todo en tu vida –incluso la amargura y las cosas imperfectas.

God Is Working All Things for Your Good

God is a good God, and he has good plans for your life. Other people have bad plans for your life, and you may make some bad plans yourself, but God only has good plans for your life.

Not everything in your life may be good—God didn’t promise that. He didn’t say everything that happens in your life would be good. Friend, we live on a broken planet. Nothing works perfectly. Your body is broken. It doesn’t always work the right way. Your mind is broken. It doesn’t think the right way. The weather is broken, the economy’s broken, relationships are broken. Nothing is perfect.

God did not promise us perfection. That’s called heaven! In heaven, there is no sorrow, sadness, sickness, or suffering. We should not expect heaven to be on earth, because the earth is filled with brokenness. But even in the middle of all this brokenness, God has a good plan for your life. He is greater than your bad choices, and he can fit even foolish decisions into a good plan. What a God! He can turn crucifixions into resurrections.

The Bible says in Romans 8:28, “We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them” (NLT). This is not a promise for everybody in the world. Not everything is working together for good for everybody. But everything is working together for good for those who say, “God, I give you my life. I want to fulfill the purpose you made me for.” And even then, it doesn’t say all things are good. It says they all work together for your good—even the bad and even the bitter.

Have you noticed that when you make a cake, the individual ingredients don’t taste good? Flour by itself does not taste good. Raw eggs do not taste good. Vanilla by itself does not taste good. But mix it all together, and you can create a tasty masterpiece.

When you let God work all the “ingredients” together, God can take the bitter, put it in the batter, and make you better. Why? Because he’s a good God.

The more you pray, the better you’re going to know your purpose. And the better you know your purpose, the more God can use everything in your life—even the bitter and broken things.

The Connection Between Purpose and Prayer

Is there anything God can’t do? There are a lot of things God can’t do. He can’t deny himself. He can’t be evil. God is good, so by nature, he cannot do bad things. Everything God does is good. And so, because God is good, God’s plans for your life will always be good.

Jeremiah 29:11-12 says, “‘I know what I am planning for you,’ says the Lord. ‘I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you a hope and a good future. Then you will call my name. You will come to me and pray to me, and I will listen to you’” (NCV).

Do you see the connection between prayer and God’s plans for your life?

I’ve said this many times, but I’ll say it again: You are not an accident. There is a purpose for your life. There are accidental parents, but there are no accidental children. Your parents may not have planned you, but God did, and he wanted you alive.

Now, God didn’t have to create a plan for your life. He could have just let you be born and then wander around aimlessly.

But God has never made anything without a purpose. Everything has a purpose and a plan. God gave you a plan for your life. Why? Because he loves you. He is a good God, so he put a lot of thought into creating you.

And now you may ask, “Well, how do I know God’s plan?” God’s plans for your life are revealed and realized through prayer. The more you pray, the more you’re going to understand God’s plan for your life. When you pray to him, he listens, and he answers and reveals more of himself to you.

La Conexión Entre el Propósito y la Oración

 

“Pues yo sé los planes que tengo para ustedes —dice el Señor—. Son planes para lo bueno y no para lo malo, para darles un futuro y una esperanza. En esos días, cuando oren, los escucharé” Jeremías 29:11-12 (NTV)

¿Hay algo que Dios no pueda hacer? Hay muchas cosas que Dios no puede hacer. Él no puede negarse a sí mismo. Él no puede ser malo. Dios es bueno, así que, por naturaleza, Él no puede hacer cosas malas. Todo lo que Dios hace es bueno. Por lo tanto, Dios es bueno, el plan de Dios para tu vida siempre será bueno.

Jeremías 29:11-12 dice, “Pues yo sé los planes que tengo para ustedes —dice el Señor—. Son planes para lo bueno y no para lo malo, para darles un futuro y una esperanza. En esos días, cuando oren, los escucharé” (NTV).

¿Ves la conexión entre la oración y los planes de Dios para tu vida?

He dicho esto muchas veces, pero lo volveré a decir: No eres un accidente. Hay un propósito para tu vida. Hay padres por accidente, pero no hay niños por accidente. Tus padres posiblemente no te planearon, pero Dios si, y Él quería que vivieras.

Ahora, Dios no tendría que crear un plan para tu vida. Él pudo dejar que nacieras y que anduvieras sin rumbo.

Pero Dios nunca ha hecho nada sin un propósito. Todo tiene un propósito y un plan. Dios te dio un plan para tu vida. ¿Por qué? Porque Él te ama. Él es un Dios bueno, así que puso mucho empeño en crearte.

Y ahora puedes preguntar, “Bien, ¿Cómo conozco el plan de Dios?” Los planes de Dios para tu vida son revelados y realizados a través de la oración. Entre más ores, más vas a entender el plan de Dios para tu vida. Cuando oras, Él escucha, y responde y revela más de Él hacia ti.

What Is God Really Like?

If knowing who God is shapes the way we pray, then what is God really like?

Well, God has many characteristics. He is all-knowing (omniscient), he is all-powerful (omnipotent), he can be everywhere at the same time (omnipresent). The Bible tells us God is holy, just, kind, loving, and faithful.

There are many, many characteristics of God that we could study, but we’re going to spend a few days looking specifically at the goodness of God, because the goodness of God is the basis for all prayer. If God is not a good God, then we have zero motivation to pray.

The only reason there’s any good in the world is because God is the Creator of the world, and he is a good God. His goodness is in the universe. You can’t spell “good” without “God.” If there’s no God, then there is no right and wrong or good and bad.

People often ask, “Why is there evil in the world?” It’s simple: God doesn’t force us to do good. Evil exists because God gave us a free choice and we choose not to do good a lot of the time. Evil is really easy to explain. The hard thing to explain is why there is is any good in the world. In a world of “dog eat dog” and tough luck, the only reason there is good is because God is a good God.

Because God is always good, we can know certain things about prayer. When you understand these things because you understand how good God really is, you’re going to enjoy prayer. It won’t be a duty anymore. It will be a delight!

Over the next few days, we’ll look at several implications of the goodness of God in your life and how it’s going to change the way you pray from now on.

¿Cómo Realmente es Dios?

 

“Pues el Señor es bueno. Su amor inagotable permanece para siempre, y su fidelidad continúa de generación en generación ”. Salmos 100:5 (NTV)

Si sabes quién es Dios, esto da forma a la manera en que oras, ¿cómo es realmente Dios?

Bueno, Dios tiene muchas características. Él todo lo sabe (omnisciente), Él todo lo puede (omnipotente), Él puede estar en todas partes al mismo tiempo (omnipresente). La Biblia nos dice que Dios es santo, justo, amable, amoroso y fiel.

Hay muchas, muchas características de Dios que podríamos estudiar, pero vamos a pasar unos días analizando específicamente la bondad de Dios, porque la bondad de Dios es la base de toda oración. Si Dios no es un Dios bueno, entonces no tenemos ninguna motivación para orar.

La única razón por la que hay algo bueno en el mundo es porque Dios es el Creador del mundo y Él es un Dios bueno. Su bondad está en el universo. No puedes deletrear “bondad” sin “Dios”. Si no hay Dios, entonces no hay lo correcto ni el error ni bien ni mal.

La gente a menudo pregunta: “¿Por qué hay maldad en el mundo?” Es simple: Dios no nos obliga a hacer el bien. El mal existe porque Dios nos dio una opción libre y elegimos no hacer el bien la mayor parte del tiempo. El mal es realmente fácil de explicar. Lo difícil de explicar es por qué hay algo bueno en el mundo. En un mundo despiadado y de mala suerte, la única razón por la que es bueno es porque Dios es un Dios bueno.

Porque Dios siempre es bueno, podemos saber ciertas cosas acerca de la oración. Cuando entiendas estas cosas porque comprendes lo bueno que es Dios realmente, disfrutarás la oración. Ya no será un deber. ¡Será una delicia!

Tienes que Conocer a Dios Para Saber Cómo Hablar con Él

 

“Pues el Señor es bueno. Su amor inagotable permanece para siempre, y su fidelidad continúa de generación en generación ”. Salmos100:5 (NTV)

¿No odias cuando la gente te llama por teléfono y no se identifica? Simplemente comienzan a hablar tan pronto como respondes, asumiendo que sabes quién es. Cuando no sabes si es el presidente o el chico de la pizza al otro lado de la línea, esto afecta mucho tu conversación. No sabes qué tono utilizar. Estás un poco prevenido.

Incluso cuando estás hablando con alguien en persona, si no sabes mucho acerca de esa persona, tiendes a ser más formal. Siempre puedo decir que las personas con las que me encuentro en la ciudad son parte de la Iglesia de Saddleback porque dirán: “Hola, Pastor Rick, ¿cómo te va?”. Pero cuando alguien dice: “Hola, reverendo Warren”, está claro que saben quién soy, pero no saben tanto de mí.

La proximidad y la relación determinan cómo le hablas a alguien. Lo que sabes sobre alguien determina tu conversación con esa persona.

Lo mismo es verdad con Dios. Tu comprensión de cómo es realmente Dios da forma a todo lo demás en tu vida, incluida tu vida de oración.

Mucha gente tiene ideas erróneas acerca de Dios. Algunas personas piensan que es un Dios gruñón, que está malhumorado y molesto todo el tiempo, y piensan que nunca podrán complacerlo. Algunas personas se imaginan al Dios “tigre agazapado”, que está listo para saltar sobre ellos cuando hacen el movimiento equivocado. Algunas personas le tienen como al padre rudo, que está de mal humor y cambia de opinión continuamente sobre ellos.

Algunas personas piensan que Dios es el policía cósmico, cuyo objetivo es asegurarse de que cumplan las reglas, o el Dios dictador, que nunca está satisfecho y siempre exige más y más y más. Y algunas personas tienen lo que yo llamo el Dios de plastilina y solo lo hacen en la forma que quieran.

Alguna vez escuché a alguien decir: “Me gusta pensar en Dios como…” Bueno, lo siento, pero en realidad no importa cómo piensas que es Dios. ¡Importa lo que la Biblia dice que es!

A.W. Tozer escribió: “Lo que te viene a la mente cuando piensas en Dios es lo más importante de ti, porque afecta a todo lo demás en tu vida”.

Es importante que conozcas al verdadero Dios. Si tienes una idea equivocada acerca de Él, entonces la oración será un deber y un trabajo pesado. ¡Dios no quiere que ores por culpa! Quiere que le hables porque lo amas. Y lo amarás más a medida que lo conozcas mejor a través de su Palabra.

You Have to Know God to Know How to Talk to Him

Don’t you hate it when people call you on the phone and don’t identify themselves? They just jump right in as soon as you answer, assuming you know who it is. When you don’t know if it’s the pope or the pizza guy on the other end, it affects your conversation a lot. You don’t know what tone to use. You’re a little more guarded.

Even when you’re talking with someone in person, if you don’t know much about that person, you tend to be more formal. I can always tell when people I run into around town are a part of Saddleback Church because they’ll say, “Hey, Pastor Rick, how’s it going?” But when someone says, “Hello, Reverend Warren,” it’s clear they know who I am but not that much about me.

Proximity and relationship determine how you talk to somebody. What you know about somebody determines your conversation with that person.

The same is true with God. Your understanding of what God is really like shapes everything else in your life, including your prayer life.

A lot of people have misconceptions about God. Some people think he’s a grumpy god, who’s cranky and upset all the time, and they think they can never please him. Some people picture the “crouching tiger” god, who is ready to pounce on them when they make the wrong move. Some people have the flaky father god, who’s moody and changes his mind continually about them.

Some people think of God as the cosmic cop, whose goal is just to make sure you keep the rules, or the dictator god, who’s never satisfied and always demanding more and more and more. And some people have what I call the Play-Doh god and just make him into any form they want.

Ever heard somebody say, “I like to think of God as . . .”? Well, I’m sorry, but it doesn’t really matter what you think God is like. It matters what the Bible says he is!

W. Tozer wrote, “What comes to your mind when you think about God is the most important thing about you, because it affects everything else in your life.”

It’s important that you know the real God. If you have a misconception about him, then prayer is going to be a duty and drudgery. God doesn’t want you to pray out of guilt! He wants you to talk to him because you love him. And you will love him more as you get to know him better through his Word.

Dios Quiere Llevarte Más Profundo en la Fe

“—Puedes irte —le dijo Jesús—; tu fe te ha sanado. Al momento recobró la vista y empezó a seguir a Jesús por el camino” Marcos 10:52 (NVI)

No sé cuál es tu próximo paso, pero yo sé que necesitas darlo. Tal vez tu siguiente paso sea aceptar a Jesucristo en tu vida. O puede ser que sea tiempo de que te bautices. Quizás necesitas unirte a la iglesia, estar en un grupo pequeño, dar el diezmo, encontrar un ministerio, ir a un viaje misionero, o invitar a un amigo a la iglesia. No sé cuál es tu próximo paso, pero sí sé que: Tienes uno. Dios nunca finalizará de profundizar tu fe. Siempre hay un próximo paso.

Si no das ese siguiente paso, te quedarás atrapado en una rutina – y la única diferencia entre una tumba y una rutina es la longitud. Si no te mueves hacia adelante en fe, vas a morir. Tu corazón se enfriará y te sentirás más distante de Dios. Él no te ayudará con los pasos dos, tres, cuatro y cinco hasta que no des el paso uno. Si estás pidiendo ayuda a Dios en algo, Él te está preguntando, “¿Por qué no hiciste lo que te dije que hicieras?” Es posible que estés “aspirando” a hacer algo. Deja de aspirar y ponte a hacerlo.

Antes de que Bartimeo conociera a Jesús, él se sentaba a un costado del camino, un hombre ciego que pedía limosna. Después que el Señor hizo que recobrara la vista, el “empezó a seguir a Jesús por el camino” (Marcos 10:52 NVI). ¿Cuál de esas dos frases describe tu vida: sentarse al costado del camino o seguir a Jesús por el camino? ¿Cuál de estos dos estilos de vida piensas que es más complaciente? ¿Cuál crees que tiene más gozo, más significado y mayor satisfacción? ¿Cuál quieres que represente tu vida?

Solo hay una forma de seguir a Jesús en el camino: Da el paso siguiente.

La fe es más que creer. La fe es más que pensar, hablar o tener convicciones sobre Jesús. La fe es una acción. Es un movimiento; es una actividad. La fe es algo que haces. De hecho, en la Biblia en Santiago 2:14 dice, “¿de qué le sirve a uno decir que tiene fe si no lo demuestra con sus acciones?” (NTV)

¿Dónde conseguimos fe para tener un nuevo comienzo? Solo hay una fuente: Jesucristo.

“Pero gracias a él ustedes están unidos a Cristo Jesús, a quien Dios ha hecho nuestra sabiduría —es decir, nuestra justificación, santificación y redención” (1 Corintios 1:30 NVI). Bartimeo no tenía idea que Jesucristo iba a pasar por ahí ese día. Para él, era un día más. Pero Dios le dio una oportunidad inesperada que le ofreció a él un nuevo comienzo. Dios te da esa misma oportunidad. No la dejes pasar. Da tu próximo paso en fe antes de perder esta oportunidad.

¿Qué estás esperando para dar el próximo paso de fe en tu vida?
¿Cómo trataste de justificar la procrastinación de dar ese próximo paso para seguir a Jesús?
¿Cuál es el “siguiente paso” que darás hoy para moverte hacia la fe?

¿Aceptaste a Jesús como tu Señor y Salvador?

La Biblia dice que todos somos pequeños ante la grandeza de Dios. Aun así, Dios nos ama – aunque pecamos y tenemos defectos. De hecho, Dios nos ama tanto que envió a su Hijo, Jesús, para limpiar nuestros pecados, y que seamos parte de la familia de Dios.

Si nunca aceptaste el amor de Dios e invitaste a Jesús a tu corazón, quiero que tengas la oportunidad de hacerlo ahora. Si las palabras de esta oración expresan tu sentir, entonces hazle saber a Dios orando como una forma de decirle “Yo también”

“Querido Dios, no entiendo todo, pero te agradezco por amarme. Te agradezco por estar para mí y por enviar a Jesús para salvarme en lugar de condenarme”

“Confieso que he pecado contra ti y admito que necesito a Jesús como mi Salvador. Quiero tener una relación con Jesús. Quiero seguirlo y hacer lo que Él me pida”

“Te pido que me salves de mi pasado, mis arrepentimientos, mis errores, mis pecados, mis hábitos, mis dolores y mis complejos”.

“Te pido que me salves para cumplir tu propósito. Quiero saber para que me pusiste en este planeta. Y quiero cumplir para lo que fui creado. Quiero aprender a amarte y confiar en ti, y ser parte de tu familia para siempre. En tu nombre, Amén”

God Wants to Take You Deeper in Faith

I don’t know what step you need to take next, but I do know that you need to take it. Maybe your next step is to accept Jesus Christ into your life. Or perhaps it’s time to be baptized. Maybe you need to join a church, get into a small group, start tithing, find a ministry, go on a mission trip, or invite a friend to church. I don’t know what your next step is, but I do know this: You have one. God will never be finished taking you deeper in faith. There is always a next step.

If you don’t take the next step, you’re going to get stuck in a rut—and the only difference between a grave and a rut is the length. If you don’t move forward in faith, you will die. Your heart will grow cold, and you will feel more distant from God. He isn’t going to help you with steps two, three, four, and five until you take step one. If you’re asking God to help you with something, he’s asking you, “Why haven’t you done what I’ve already told you to do?” You may have been “aiming” to do something. Stop aiming and pull the trigger.

Before Bartimaeus met Jesus, he was sitting beside the road, a blind man begging for handouts. After he received his sight from the Lord, he “began following [Jesus] on the road” (Mark 10:52 NASB). Which of those two phrases describes your life: sitting beside the road or following Jesus on the road? Which of those two lifestyles do you think is more fulfilling? Which do you think has more joy, more meaning, and more satisfaction? Which one do you want to represent your life?

There’s only one way to follow Jesus on the road: Take the next step.

Faith is more than believing. Faith is more than thinking, talking, or having convictions about Jesus. Faith is action. It is movement; it is activity. Faith is something you do. In fact, the Bible says in James 2:14, “If people say they have faith, but do nothing, their faith is worth nothing” (NCV).

Where do you get the faith to begin a fresh start? There’s only one source: Jesus Christ.

“Everything that we have—right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start—comes from God by way of Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 1:30 The Message). Bartimaeus had no idea that Jesus Christ was going to pass his way that day. To him, it was just another day. But God gave him an unexpected opportunity that offered him a fresh start. God is giving you the same opportunity. Don’t miss it. Take your next step of faith before the opportunity passes you by.

 

Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior?

The Bible says we all fall short of God’s perfect standard. Yet God still loves us — even though we sin and we’re flawed. In fact, God loves us so much that he sent his Son, Jesus, to cleanse us from our sins, and to bring us into the family of God.

If you’ve never accepted God’s love and invited Jesus into your heart, I want you to have that opportunity now. If the words of this prayer express your heart, then let God know that by praying them as a way of saying, “Me too.”

“Dear God, I don’t understand it all, but I thank you that you love me. I thank you that you are for me and that you didn’t send Jesus to condemn me but to save me.

“I confess that I have sinned against you, and I admit I need Jesus as my Savior. I want a relationship with Jesus. I want to follow him and do the things he tells me to do.

“I ask you to save me from my past, my regrets, my mistakes, my sins, my habits, my hurts, and my hang-ups.

“I ask you to save me for your purpose. I want to know why you put me on this planet. And I want to fulfill what you made me to do. I want to learn to love you and trust you and be in your family forever. In your name I pray, amen.”
