Solo hay una Forma de Mantenerte Integro

 

“¿Cómo puede un joven mantenerse puro? Obedeciendo tu palabra” (Salmo 119:9 NVI).

En una cultura que está absolutamente obsesionada con la apariencia y la imagen, ¿Cómo puedes mantenerte real cuando tantas personas están simulando? No tienen integridad. Están escapando, engañando y haciendo trampa. Ellos no mantienen sus promesas.

¿Cómo te mantienes real?

Solo hay una manera. Tienes que buscar más la aprobación de Dios que la aprobación de otras personas. Esa es la única manera que siempre serás una persona de integridad. Si te importa lo que Dios piense, vas a hacer lo correcto. Pero si te importa más lo que otros piensen, a menudo vas a hacer lo incorrecto.

Salmos 119:9 dice, “¿Cómo puede un joven mantenerse puro? Obedeciendo tu palabra” (NVI).

La única manera en la que vas a conocer lo que Dios aprueba y lo que él piensa de ti es cuando lees la Biblia. ¡Debes permanecer en la palabra de Dios! Si no lo haces, no tendrás la fuerza y la estamina para vivir con integridad.

Si no tengo un tiempo a solas con Dios en la Palabra, si me lo pierdo incluso por unos pocos días, me doy cuenta ¡todos se dan cuenta! porque comienzo a volverme irritable. Si no permanezco conectado a Dios a través de su Palabra, no tendría ningún poder espiritual para explicar claramente la Palabra de Dios a ti. No tendría la fuerza de vivir con integridad.

Vivir con integridad requiere poder espiritual, porque lo que es correcto a menudo es poco popular. Vas a cansarte tratando de hacer lo correcto y ser real y mantener tus motivaciones reales, y necesitas estar equipado y renovado.

Haces eso al leer y estudiar la Biblia, la Palabra de Dios.

Forgive People Who Oppose You

When you face opposition because of your faith, you need to recognize the source of the opposition.

It’s not other people. It’s not your coworkers. It’s not a political party. It’s not some other nation or religion. It’s not a competitor. The pressure you feel to cave in or be quiet or sit down when you should stand up is not coming from other people. It’s really coming from Satan.

In Revelation 12:10 Satan is called “the accuser of the Christians.” His number one job is to knock you down.

There is an unseen spiritual battle going on all around you. The pressure to keep you from doing the right thing is not really coming from other people. They’re just weapons. Most of the time they don’t even know they’re being used. The real issue is spiritual warfare.

Ephesians 6:12 says, “We are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world” (GNT).

Satan knows it’s pointless to attack Jesus Christ directly, so instead he attacks those who follow Jesus. He uses the media and music and popular culture and anything he can to ridicule those who have placed their faith in Jesus. He’s behind the voices saying, “Those Christians are out of date. They’re on the wrong side of history. They don’t know what they’re talking about. They’re bigots.”

Here’s what the Bible says you should do: “Stay away from stupid and senseless arguments. These only lead to trouble, and God’s servants must not be troublemakers. They must be kind to everyone, and they must be good teachers and very patient. Be humble when you correct people who oppose you . . . They have been trapped by the devil, and he makes them obey him, but God may help them escape” (2 Timothy 2:23-26 CEV).

If you don’t have the Holy Spirit in your life, then you have no defense against Satan. He can master your moods. He can lead you into depression. He can make you angry.

You may think you’re strong, but you’re not strong enough to fight Satan’s attacks on your own. What you need to do is recognize the source—the Devil, not the person attacking you—and treat the opposition the way Jesus did.

How did Jesus treat those who opposed him? Even on the cross he said, “Father, forgive them. They don’t know what they’re doing.”

The people who attack you don’t know what they’re doing. The people who put down Jesus and church and Christianity? They don’t know what they’re doing.

You need to pray, too, “Father, forgive them” so that you can show love even under attack and so you’ll have more energy to fight the real enemy.

Perdona a la Personas que se Opongan a ti

 

“Así, humildemente, debe corregir a los adversarios, con la esperanza de que Dios les conceda el arrepentimiento para conocer la verdad, de modo que se despierten y escapen de la trampa en que el diablo los tiene cautivos, sumisos a su voluntad” (2 Timoteo 2:25-26 NVI).

Cuando te enfrentas a la oposición debido a tu fe, necesitas reconocer la fuente de la oposición.

No son otras personas. No son tus compañeros de trabajo. No es un partido político. No es otra nación o religión. No es un competidor. La presión que sientes por ceder o permanecer en silencio o sentarte cuando debes ponerte de pie no proviene de otras personas. Realmente viene de Satanás.

En Apocalipsis 12:10, a Satanás se le llama “el acusador de los cristianos“. Su trabajo número uno es derribarte.

Hay una batalla espiritual invisible a tu alrededor. La presión para evitar que hagas lo correcto no proviene realmente de otras personas. Solo son armas. La mayoría de las veces ni siquiera saben que están siendo utilizados. El verdadero problema es la guerra espiritual.

Efesios 6:12 dice que: “No luchamos contra enemigos de carne y hueso, sino contra gobernadores malignos y autoridades del mundo invisible, contra fuerzas poderosas de este mundo tenebroso y contra espíritus malignos de los lugares celestiales” (NTV).

Satanás sabe que no tiene sentido atacar a Jesucristo directamente, por lo que en su lugar ataca a los que siguen a Jesús. Utiliza los medios, la música, la cultura popular y cualquier cosa que pueda para ridiculizar a los que han puesto su fe en Jesús. Él está detrás de las voces diciendo: “Esos cristianos están desactualizados. Están en el lado equivocado de la historia. No saben de qué están hablando. Ellos son fanáticos”.

Esto es lo que la Biblia dice que debes hacer: “No tengas nada que ver con discusiones necias y sin sentido, pues ya sabes que terminan en pleitos. Y un siervo del Señor no debe andar peleando; más bien, debe ser amable con todos, capaz de enseñar y no propenso a irritarse. Así, humildemente, debe corregir a los adversarios, con la esperanza de que Dios les conceda el arrepentimiento para conocer la verdad, 26 de modo que se despierten y escapen de la trampa en que el diablo los tiene cautivos, sumisos a su voluntad.” (2 Timoteo 2:23-26 NVI).

Si no tienes el Espíritu Santo en tu vida, entonces no tienes defensa contra Satanás. Él puede dominar sus estados de ánimo. Él puede llevarte a la depresión. Él puede hacerte enojar.

Puedes pensar que eres fuerte, pero no eres lo suficientemente fuerte como para combatir los ataques de Satanás por tu cuenta. Lo que debes hacer es reconocer la fuente, el Diablo, no la persona que te ataca, y tratar a la oposición como lo hizo Jesús.

¿Cómo trató Jesús a los que se opusieron a él? Incluso en la cruz dijo: “Padre, perdónalos. No saben lo que están haciendo “.

Las personas que te atacan no saben lo que están haciendo. ¿La gente que dejó a Jesús y la iglesia y el cristianismo? No saben lo que están haciendo.

También debes orar: “Padre, perdónalos” para que puedas mostrar amor incluso bajo ataque y así tengas más energía para luchar contra el verdadero enemigo.

Reflexiona sobre esto :

Si Satanás está detrás de las acciones equivocadas de la gente, ¿por qué siguen siendo responsables por Dios de lo que hacen?
¿Cuál es el efecto sobre ti, física, emocional y espiritualmente cuando eres capaz de perdonar a tus enemigos?
¿Cuáles son tus áreas de debilidad que Satanás ataca más fácilmente? Pídele a Dios que crezca tu fe en esas áreas y te dé fuerza para mantenerte firme.

Solo Necesitas la Aprobación de Dios

 

“No es nada vergonzoso sufrir por ser cristianos. ¡Alaben a Dios por el privilegio de que los llamen por el nombre de Cristo!” (1 Pedro 4:16 NTV).

Nunca te avergüences de defender la verdad y hacer lo correcto. La Biblia dice en 1 Pedro 4:16, “No es nada vergonzoso sufrir por ser cristianos. ¡Alaben a Dios por el privilegio de que los llamen por el nombre de Cristo!” (NTV).

Déjame hacerte algunas preguntas: ¿Te va a matar un insulto? No. ¿Te va a matar una reprimenda? No. ¿Alguien te está llamando por un nombre o te está etiquetando porque has tomado una posición para que Cristo te haga daño? No. ¿Alguien en línea que está tratando de atacarte y llevarte a un argumento que te va a derrotar? No. No te va a matar.

Necesitas entender algo que liberará tu vida: no necesitas la aprobación de otras personas para ser feliz.

Es posible que hayas estado tratando de obtener la aprobación de cierta persona durante muchos años. Odio decírtelo, pero si no la has recibido hasta ahora, no lo vas a obtener. ¡La buena noticia es que no la necesitas! No necesitas la aprobación de nadie para ser feliz.

No importa lo que hagas en la vida, a alguien no le va a gustar. No puedes evitar la desaprobación. Entonces, si vas a tener la desaprobación de la gente de cualquier manera, también puedes tener su desaprobación por hacer lo correcto en lugar de hacer lo incorrecto.

Es importante recordar esto cuando te enfrentas a la oposición. Si las opiniones de otras personas son más importantes para ti que las de Dios, entonces se derrumbarán cuando esas personas te ataquen por tu fe en Jesús. Pero si te enfocas en Dios y lo que sabes que es correcto, entonces puedes tomar una posición firme.

“Manténganse firmes contra él y sean fuertes en su fe. Recuerden que su familia de creyentes en todo el mundo también está pasando por el mismo sufrimiento” (1 Pedro 5:9 NTV).

Piensa en un momento en el que podrías haber defendido a Jesucristo y lo que es correcto. ¿Cómo afectó tu deseo de aprobación tu respuesta?
¿Dónde puedes encontrar el aliento que necesitas para mantenerte firme cuando las personas se oponen a tu fe?
¿Por qué ayuda saber que hay otros creyentes que también están sufriendo por el Evangelio?

You Only Need God’s Approval

Never be embarrassed for standing for the truth and doing what’s right. The Bible says in 1 Peter 4:16, “It is no shame to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by his name!” (NLT).

Let me ask you some questions: Is an insult going to kill you? No. Is a putdown going to kill you? No. Is somebody calling you a name or labeling you because you’ve made a stand for Christ going to hurt you? No. Is some troll online who’s trying to bait you and drag you into an argument going to take you down? No. It’s not going to kill you.

You need to understand something that will liberate your life: You don’t need other people’s approval to be happy.

You may have been trying to get the approval of a certain person for many years. I hate to tell you, but if you haven’t gotten it by now, you’re not going to get it. The good news is you don’t need it! You don’t need anybody’s approval in order to be happy.

No matter what you do in life, somebody’s not going to like it. You can’t avoid disapproval. So, if you’re going to have people’s disapproval either way, you may as well have their disapproval for doing the right thing rather than the wrong thing.

This is important to remember as you face opposition. If other people’s opinions matter more to you than God’s opinion, then you’re going to crumble when those people attack you because of your faith in Jesus. But if you focus on God and what you know is right, then you can make a firm stand.

“Stand firm against [Satan], and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are” (1 Peter 5:9 NLT).

Busca Maneras de Unir a las Personas

 

Todo lo nuevo viene de Dios, quien nos ha reconciliado con él a través de Cristo y nos ha dado el trabajo de reconciliar a toda la gente con él. Lo que quiero decir es que a través de Cristo, Dios estaba tratando de reconciliar al mundo con él, sin tener en cuenta los pecados de nadie. Ese es el mensaje de reconciliación que nos encargó anunciar” (2 Corintios 5:18-19 PDT).

Cuando quieres reparar una relación donde hay conflicto, tienes que concentrarte en la reconciliación, no en la resolución.

¡Hay una gran diferencia!, la reconciliación significa reestablecer la relación. No significa que te vuelves a casar con tu ex. Solo significa que están en paz uno con el otro.

La resolución significa que resuelves cada malentendido, y eso nunca va a suceder. Porque la verdad es, que hay algunas cosas en tu matrimonio, tus amistades y tus relaciones de trabajo de las que nunca estarás de acuerdo, porque todos somos diferentes. Pero puedes estar en desacuerdo sin ser desagradable. A eso se le llama madurez. A eso se le llama sabiduría. A eso se le llama ser como Cristo.

Podemos tener unidad sin uniformidad. Podemos caminar mano a mano juntos sin vernos a los ojos. Mi esposa, Kay, y yo hemos estado casados por más de cuarenta años, y no estamos de acuerdo en muchas cosas. Pero caminamos mano con mano y nos aguantamos mutuamente. Estamos en paz.

Esto es lo que he aprendido de aconsejar matrimonios: Si te enfocas en restaurar tu relación, a menudo el problema se vuelve insignificante. ¿Cuántos de tus más grandes argumentos son sobre las cosas más pequeñas? Muy pocos, sospecho. Necesitas volver a enfocarte en la relación.

Hay mucho conflicto en el mundo. Está lleno de guerras, divisiones, argumentos, prejuicios, racismo y terrorismo. Y como resultado, tenemos relaciones quebrantadas. Tenemos una economía inestable. Tenemos un gobierno inestable. Tenemos matrimonios quebrantados. Y tenemos vidas y corazones heridos.

Te reto como creyente a comprometerte a ser un agente de reconciliación en un mundo lleno con conflicto. Ser un constructor de puentes, no de muros. Busca formas de reunir a las personas en lugar de separarlas.

La Biblia dice en 2 Corintios 5:18-19 “Todo lo nuevo viene de Dios, quien nos ha reconciliado con él a través de Cristo y nos ha dado el trabajo de reconciliar a toda la gente con él. Lo que quiero decir es que a través de Cristo, Dios estaba tratando de reconciliar al mundo con él, sin tener en cuenta los pecados de nadie. Ese es el mensaje de reconciliación que nos encargó anunciar” (PDT).

Si eres un seguidor de Jesucristo, tienes el ministerio de la reconciliación. Es tu trabajo salir a la sociedad y decir, “Dios ha hecho todo para que tengan una relación con él. Él ya pagó el precio por todos sus pecados. No tienes que ser su enemigo. Él no está enojado contigo. Él está enojado por ti. Reconcíliense con Dios. Estén en paz con Dios. Y luego esparzan esa paz con todos los demás”.

¿Cuál es un punto de contención en tu matrimonio o una amistad que no has sido capaz de resolver?
¿Qué pasos puedes tomar para concentrarte más en esa relación y reconciliación en lugar de intentar de resolver el problema?
¿Cómo puedes trabajar para ser un agente de reconciliación justo donde estás en tu familia, trabajo y comunidad?

Look for Ways to Bring People Together

When you want to repair a relationship where there is conflict, you have to focus on reconciliation, not resolution.

There’s a big difference! Reconciliation means reestablishing the relationship. It doesn’t mean you’ll remarry your ex. It just means you’re at peace with each other.

Resolution means you resolve every disagreement, and that just isn’t going to happen. Because the truth is, there are some things in your marriage, your friendships, and your work relationships that you’re just never going to agree on, because we’re all different. But you can disagree without being disagreeable. That’s called maturity. That’s called wisdom. That’s called being like Christ.

We can have unity without uniformity. We can walk hand in hand together without seeing eye to eye. My wife, Kay, and I have been married for more than 40 years, and we don’t see eye to eye on a lot of things. But we walk hand in hand and support each other. We are at peace.

Here’s what I’ve learned from counseling marriages: If you focus on restoring your relationship, oftentimes the issue becomes insignificant. How many of your biggest arguments were over the smallest things? Very few, I suspect. You need to get back to focusing on the relationship.

There’s a lot of conflict in the world. It’s filled with wars, division, arguments, prejudice, racism, terrorism, and partisanism. And as a result, we have broken relationships. We have a broken economy. We have a broken government. We have broken marriages. And we have broken lives and broken hearts.

I challenge you as a believer to commit to becoming an agent of reconciliation in a world filled with conflict. Become a bridge builder, not a wall builder. Look for ways to bring people together rather than tear them up.

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:18-19, “[God] has restored our relationship with him through Christ and has given us this ministry of restoring relationships. In other words, God was using Christ to restore his relationship with humanity. He didn’t hold people’s faults against them, and he has given us this message of restored relationships to tell others” (GW).

If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you have a ministry of reconciliation. It’s your job to go out in society and say, “God’s done everything to put you back in fellowship with him. He’s already paid for all your sins. You don’t have to be his enemy. He’s not mad at you. He’s mad about you. Be reconciled to God. Be at peace with God. Then spread that peace with everybody else.”

Cuando haya Oposición, elige la Adoración sobre la Preocupación

 

“Si sufren por hacer lo correcto, Dios va a recompensarlos. Así que no se preocupen ni tengan miedo a las amenazas. En cambio, adoren a Cristo como el Señor de su vida. Si alguien les pregunta acerca de la esperanza que tienen como creyentes, estén siempre preparados para dar una explicación” (1 Pedro 3:14-15 NTV).

El cristianismo no es para los débiles de corazón. Se necesitan hombres y mujeres valientes para seguir a Jesús.

La gente en todo el mundo está sufriendo más de lo que sufrimos aquí en los Estados Unidos. Pero ¿qué te cuesta seguir a Cristo? Es poco probable que alguna vez enfrentes una opresión violenta. Pero te enfrentas con la represión silenciosa todos los días a medida que nuestra cultura se vuelve más y más secularizada y anticristiana.

No importa de dónde seas, cuando te enfrentas a la oposición debido a tu fe, es natural sentir miedo. Entonces, ¿cómo deshacerte del miedo a la oposición? ¿Cómo deshacerte del miedo a la desaprobación? ¿Cómo deshacerte del miedo a ser rechazado?

Necesitas estar lleno del amor de Dios. La Biblia dice que no hay temor en el amor y que el amor perfecto expulsa todo temor. Cuando te enfrentas a la oposición, te enfocas en el amor de Dios por ti. Las personas que descansan en la seguridad del amor de Dios no temen el rechazo. No temen la desaprobación.

La Biblia dice en 1 Pedro 3:14-15, “Si sufren por hacer lo correcto, Dios va a recompensarlos. Así que no se preocupen ni tengan miedo a las amenazas. En cambio, adoren a Cristo como el Señor de su vida. Si alguien les pregunta acerca de la esperanza que tienen como creyentes, estén siempre preparados para dar una explicación” (NTV).

Hay dos opciones cuando te sientes presionado a guardar silencio acerca de tu fe en Cristo: puedes preocuparte o puedes adorar. Eso significa que o te asustas u oras. O te enfocas en el problema, la presión y la persecución, o te enfocas en Dios.

Tienes que desviar tu atención de la presión que sientes y dirigir tu atención hacia Dios. Eso es lo que es adorar: enfocarse en Dios. Cuando te enfrentas a la oposición, adora en lugar de preocuparte.

When Opposed, Choose Worship over Worry

Christianity is not for weaklings, wimps, or the faint of heart. It takes courageous men and women to follow Jesus.

People all over the world are suffering like we in the United States will never suffer. But what is it costing you to follow Christ? It’s unlikely you’ll ever face violent oppression. But you deal with silent repression every single day as our culture becomes more and more secularized and anti-Christian.

No matter where you are from, when you are faced with opposition because of your faith, it’s natural to feel afraid. So how do you get rid of the fear of opposition? How do you get rid of the fear of disapproval? How do you get rid of the fear of being rejected?

You need to be filled with God’s love. The Bible says that there’s no fear in love and that perfect love casts out all fear. When you face opposition, you focus on God’s love for you. People who rest in the assurance of God’s love aren’t afraid of rejection. They aren’t afraid of disapproval.

The Bible says in 1 Peter 3:14-15, “If you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats. Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it” (NLT).

There are two choices when you feel pressured to be quiet about your faith in Christ: You can worry, or you can worship. That means either you panic or you pray. Either you focus on the problem and the pressure and the persecution, or you focus on God.

You have to turn your attention away from the pressure you feel and turn your focus toward God. That’s what worship is—focusing on God. When you face opposition, worship instead of worry.

Three Things to Remember When You’re Opposed

When you feel pressured by the world because you love Jesus and other people don’t, you need to remember three things:

Opposition can make you more like Jesus.

Jesus says in John 15:18-20, “If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you. Do you remember what I told you? ‘A slave is not greater than the master.’ Since they persecuted me, naturally they will persecute you. And if they had listened to me, they would listen to you” (NLT). 

If you’re going to grow up and be like Jesus Christ, you’re going to have to go through the things Jesus went through, including loneliness, discouragement, stress, and temptation. Why would God spare you when he didn’t spare his own Son from those things?

Opposition will deepen your faith.

Your faith is like a muscle. A muscle doesn’t grow when you sit in a chair and eat popcorn. A muscle grows by being stretched, strained, and tested. You’re never going to grow a muscle if no weight is ever pulling in the opposite direction.

If you don’t have opposition in your life, your faith is not growing. The strongest believers in the world right now are those who are having their faith tested the most. The Bible says in 1 Peter 1:7, “These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world” (NLT).

Opposition will give you eternal rewards.

Matthew 5:10-12 says, “God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven” (NLT).

God’s going to bless anybody who’s persecuted because they live for him. Notice that you don’t get rewarded for being rude or obnoxious. If you live a self-righteous life when you get persecuted, you’re not a martyr. You’re just a jerk.

You don’t get rewarded for that. You get rewarded for being like Jesus. When you share your faith, do it with gentleness and respect, just like Jesus, and you will be rewarded for it one day in heaven.

Remember those three things whenever you’re harassed for your faith: It can make you more like Jesus. It can deepen your faith. And you will be rewarded for it in eternity.
