El Cuerpo de Cristo te Necesita

“Todos ustedes en conjunto son el cuerpo de Cristo, y cada uno de ustedes es parte de ese cuerpo”. 1 Corintios 12:27 (NTV)

Una de las razones por las que necesitas estar conectado con una familia de la iglesia es para cumplir tu llamado de servir a otros creyentes de manera práctica. La Biblia dice: “Todos ustedes en conjunto son el cuerpo de Cristo, y cada uno de ustedes es parte de ese cuerpo” 1 Corintios 12:27 (NTV).

Tu servicio es esencial para el cuerpo de Cristo. Cada uno de nosotros tiene un rol que desempeñar, y cada rol es importante. No hay un servicio pequeño para Dios; todo importa.

Ningún ministerio en la iglesia es insignificante. Algunos son visibles, mientras que otros están ocultos y trabajan detrás de escena, pero todos son valiosos. Los ministerios pequeños u ocultos a menudo hacen la mayor diferencia. En mi hogar, la luz más importante no es la gran lámpara de nuestro comedor, sino la pequeña luz de noche que me impide golpearme el pie cuando me levanto en la oscuridad.

No hay correlación entre tamaño y significado. Cada ministerio importa porque todos dependemos unos de otros para funcionar.

Cuando una parte de tu cuerpo no funciona, te enfermas, y el resto de tu cuerpo sufre. Imagínate si tu hígado decidiera comenzar a vivir por sí mismo: “¡Estoy cansado! ¡Ya no quiero servir a tu cuerpo! ¡Quiero un año de descanso solo para ser alimentado! ¡Tengo que hacer lo mejor solo para mí! ¡Voy a dejar que otra parte se haga cargo!”

¿Qué pasaría? Tu cuerpo moriría.

Hoy en día, miles de iglesias locales están muriendo porque las personas no están dispuestas a servir. Se sientan como espectadores, y el cuerpo sufre.

Dios te llama a un servicio mucho más allá de lo que puedas imaginar. Te creó para una vida de buenas obras, que ya ha preparado para que hagas (consulta Efesios 2:10).

¡Cuando sirves a otros, en realidad estás sirviendo a Dios!

You Manage Your Money; You Don’t Own It

“Once there was a man who was about to leave home on a trip; he called his servants and put them in charge of his property. He gave to each one according to his ability: to one he gave five thousand gold coins, to another he gave two thousand, and to another he gave one thousand. Then he left on his trip.”

Matthew 25:14-15 (GNT)

Jesus says in Matthew 25:14-15, “Once there was a man who was about to leave home on a trip; he called his servants and put them in charge of his property. He gave to each one according to his ability: to one he gave five thousand gold coins, to another he gave two thousand, and to another he gave one thousand. Then he left on his trip” (GNT).

Instead of using a bank, when this rich man left for his long trip, he entrusted his property to his servants. When he returned, he asked each one for an account of how they’d handled his money.

What the rich man was looking for was good stewardship. The word stewardship is related to the Old English word for “manager.” Your stewardship—your management—is key to your financial freedom. The first law of financial freedom is the law of possession: Everything you have belongs to God. You are only a manager!

You are called to be a steward of your time. You are called to be a steward of your influence. You are called to be a steward of your health, your relationships, and your opportunities. God calls you to be steward or manager of everything you have.

You may say, “But wait a minute! I worked for my money, and now you want to tell me it isn’t mine?” Where do you think you got your body to work for your money? Where do you think you got your mind to work for it? Where do you think you got the energy to work for it? Where do you think you got the intelligence to work for it? Everything you have comes from God.

You don’t really own anything in life; it’s all on loan. You only get to use God’s money while you’re here on Earth. He’s loaned it to you for a few decades. He loaned it to somebody before you, and he’s going to loan it to somebody else after you die. You don’t own it; the Master owns it all. You just get to manage it. 

Do you know what the sign is that you’ve forgotten the law of possession? When you think your money is yours, you worry about it. You feel a pressure and stress that you weren’t meant to.

Money management is a spiritual discipline. God is watching how you handle his money to see what spiritual riches he can trust you with in heaven. This might make you feel pressure, but there is actually freedom in the law of possession.

When you remember that God is the owner and you are the manager, you’ll worry a whole lot less and focus more on managing God’s money well.

¿Qué le Dice Dios a las Personas en Soledad?

“Fue despreciado y rechazado: hombre de dolores, conocedor del dolor más profundo. Nosotros le dimos la espalda y desviamos la mirada; fue despreciado, y no nos importó”. Isaías 53:3 (NTV)

Si te despertaste sintiéndote solo esta mañana, Dios tiene algo que decirte: “Entiendo exactamente cómo te sientes”. Dios está contigo durante esta temporada difícil.

Si crees que Jesús no comprende la soledad, estás equivocado.

Jesús fue despreciado y rechazado por las personas que creó. Experimentó la soledad durante toda su vida.

Durante sus últimas horas, Jesús fue al Huerto de Getsemaní a orar. Este fue un momento emotivo para Él. Sabía que al día siguiente sería crucificado en la cruz, separado de su Padre.

Dado que Jesús necesitaba la compañía humana, se llevó a sus tres mejores amigos, Pedro, Santiago y Juan, al jardín. Les dijo: “«Mi alma está destrozada de tanta tristeza, hasta el punto de la muerte. Quédense aquí y velen conmigo»” Mateo 26:38 (NTV).

¿Qué hicieron? ¡Ellos se durmieron! Jesús regresó y dijo: “«¿No pudieron velar conmigo ni siquiera una hora?” Mateo 26:40 (NTV).

Jesús debió haberse sentido muy solo en ese momento.

Al día siguiente, fue clavado en una cruz, donde gritó: “Dios mío, Dios mío, ¿por qué me has abandonado?” Mateo 27:46 (NTV). Dado que Jesús cargaba con los pecados del mundo, el Padre no podía estar donde había pecado. Estaba realmente solo.

Jesús sabe lo que es sentirse solo. Y quiere aliviar tu soledad. Él se preocupa por ti y quiere ayudarte.

Quizás la soledad no sea un problema para ti hoy. Sin embargo, es posible que te sorprenda de quiénes son las personas en soledad que te rodean. A la soledad no le importa si eres hermosa, rica, exitosa o popular. Incluso las personas casadas pueden sentirse solas; algunas parejas nunca comparten una verdadera intimidad, cercanía y compañerismo. La pandemia ha dejado claro que nadie es inmune a la soledad. Eventualmente, cada uno de nosotros lo experimenta.

Si hoy te sientes solo, Jesús lo comprende y quiere aliviarte. La mejor forma en que Jesús puede aliviar tu soledad es haciéndote parte de su familia. Mediante su propia muerte y luego su resurrección, Jesús hizo posible que tu pertenecieras a la familia de Dios.

Cuando eres parte de la familia de Dios, es posible que aún enfrentes temporadas en las que te sientas solo. Pero nunca volverás a estar realmente solo.

Reflexiona sobre esto:

¿Qué épocas de tu vida han sido solitarias? ¿Qué te ha ayudado a aliviar tu soledad?¿Qué significa para ti saber que Jesús experimentó la soledad?Si eres cristiano, ¿cómo te ayuda el ser parte de la familia de Dios a aliviar tu soledad?

¿Estás listo para unirte a la familia de Dios?

Ser cristiano no significa que nunca volverás a sentirte solo. Pero sí significa que nunca estarás realmente solo. Serás parte de la familia de Dios para siempre. Si estás listo para entregar tu vida a Jesús, entonces haz esta oración:

Querido Jesús, me has prometido que, si creo en ti, todo lo que he hecho mal será perdonado, aprenderé el propósito de mi vida y me aceptarás en tu familia para siempre y en tu hogar eterno en el Cielo.

Confieso mi pecado y creo que tú eres Dios, mi Salvador. Te recibo en mi vida como mi Señor. Hoy, te entrego cada parte de mi vida. Quiero seguirte y hacer lo que me digas que haga.

Jesús, estoy agradecido por tu amor y tu sacrificio que me permite unirme a ti en el Cielo. Sé que no me lo merezco. Y te agradezco que no tengo que ganarme ni trabajar para mi salvación, porque sé que eso es imposible. Quiero usar el resto de mi vida para servirte en lugar de servirme a mí mismo. Humildemente te entrego mi vida y te pido que me salves y me aceptes en tu familia. En el nombre de Jesús oro. Amén”.

God Rewards Financial Faithfulness

“[The] master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!”

Matthew 25:21 (NIV)

Money is the acid test of your faithfulness. God uses it more than any other thing in your life to test your faith. Why? Because it’s the thing people have the hardest time with.

Look at the rewards God gives for wise money management: “[The] master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” (Matthew 25:21 NIV).

The law of compensation is this: God will reward you for good money management. Matthew 25 suggests three steps of this reward—affirmation, promotion, and celebration.

God affirms you by saying, “Good job! I was testing you to see if you could be trusted with what I gave you, and you passed the test. Well done, good and faithful servant. 

The second step is promotion. As you show faithfulness with a few things, God will give you greater responsibility.

Then, as you show your responsibility, God will celebrate with you. You will share in God’s happiness!

Jesus said, “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money” (Matthew 6:24 NIV).

Notice he doesn’t say you shouldn’t serve God and money. He says you can’t. It’s impossible. Nobody can serve two masters. So you’re going to have to decide what will be number one in your life: God or money.

Money is a terrific servant but a terrible master. When it masters you, you’re always under stress. You’re always worried. You’re always uptight about it.

But when you master your money—when you make it your servant—it serves you. When money works for you, instead of you working for your money, you will have peace.

Sabemos Cómo Termina la Historia

“Y se predicará la Buena Noticia acerca del reino por todo el mundo, de manera que todas las naciones la oirán; y entonces vendrá el fin”. Mateo 24:14 (NTV)

La conclusión de la historia es inevitable

Creo esto con todo mi corazón. Es un hecho consumado. Se acabará. Será terminado. No hay duda. Leí el capítulo final.

La Palabra de Dios nos dice cómo va a terminar. Un día Dios va a envolverlo todo aquí en la Tierra, y se llevará a sus hijos a casa en el cielo para que estén con Él para siempre. La Biblia dice: “Y se predicará la Buena Noticia acerca del reino por todo el mundo, de manera que todas las naciones la oirán; y entonces vendrá el fin” Mateo 24:14 (NTV).

Les voy a decir algo realmente importante. No estamos tratando de establecer un reino aquí en la tierra. Estamos tratando de poblar el Reino de los Cielos. Queremos que todos nuestros amigos y todos los demás estén con nosotros en el Cielo. Nuestro objetivo es llevar a las personas al Reino de Dios para que puedan estar con Él por la eternidad.

¿Cómo damos gloria a Dios? Obtenemos gloria cuando lo amamos con todo nuestro corazón. Dios recibe gloria cuando amamos a otras personas en la familia de Dios. Dios recibe gloria cuando amamos a las personas que no son amadas. Dios recibe gloria cuando compartimos las Buenas Nuevas con todos. Dios obtiene gloria cuando le confiamos los problemas en nuestras vidas que no pueden resolverse excepto a través de un milagro. Y Dios obtiene gloria cuando sabemos y confiamos en que el final es inevitable y que Él gana.

¿Suena eso como la forma en que quieres vivir tu vida? Si es así, haz esta sencilla oración hoy:

“Querido Jesucristo, quiero ser parte de lo que estás haciendo en el mundo. Creo que quieres usarme. Quiero volver a mi primer amor: tú. Quiero ser tus manos y tus pies en el siglo XXI. Ayúdame a creer y vivir según tus convicciones. En tu nombre oro. Amén”.

Reflexiona sobre esto:

¿Qué deberías cambiar en tu vida cuando crees que Dios ya ha escrito el final de la historia y que gana?¿En qué problema o situación aparentemente imposible necesitas confiar en Dios?¿Con quién puedes compartir el Evangelio hoy para que puedan unirse al Reino de Dios?

No importa lo que hayas hecho o dónde hayas estado, Dios quiere que te unas a Él en su Reino eterno algún día. Así es, tienes un lugar en la familia eterna de Dios listo y esperándote. La invitación está abierta de par en par. Solo cree y recibe.

¿Estás listo? Aquí hay una oración con la que puedes comenzar: “Querido Dios, sé que cuando muera, te daré cuenta de mi vida. Sé que he pecado contra ti y he vivido según mi plan, no el tuyo. Quiero que eso cambie, comenzando ahora mismo. Quiero apartarme de mis pecados y volverme hacia ti.

Gracias por enviar a Jesús a morir por todo lo que hice mal para no tener que pagar la pena. Sé que no merezco tu perdón. Sé que solo tu gracia puede salvarme, Señor. Nunca podría ser lo suficientemente bueno como para llegar a un lugar perfecto.

Jesús, gracias por amarme tanto que cargaste con toda mi culpa. Me hiciste aceptable para el Cielo y humildemente te pido que me salves. Yo creo en ti, Jesús. Y creo que mantendrás tu promesa de salvarme instantáneamente, ciertamente, por completo y eternamente. Y sé que cuando deje esta Tierra, me uniré a ti en tu Reino. En el nombre de Jesús. Amén”.

How to Live with Significance

“Only those who throw away their lives for my sake and for the sake of the Good News will ever know what it means to really live.”

Mark 8:35 (TLB)

Why don’t I feel more fulfilled? Far too many people are asking themselves that question. They’re not happy, they’re not satisfied—in fact, they’re miserable.  

Here’s a story that illustrates why. Climbing Mount Everest is one of the challenges that inspire people to do something big. Many people try to reach Everest’s summit—but there are also climbers who die in their attempt. Many of the corpses line the path up the mountain. Yet people still want to climb the mountain, though it has no real redeeming social value.

A few years back one climber, David Sharp, was clearly in trouble on the mountain. There were at least 40 other climbers who noticed his obvious need but did little to help him. He died on Mount Everest because none of the other climbers were willing to put their personal goals on hold or risk their own safety to help him.

The truth is that most people are like that. Your own personal drive to have more, be more, do more—or even to protect yourself—causes you to lose sight of what really matters. But that isn’t how God wired you. Life isn’t about what you make, who you know, what you do, or looking out for yourself. Life is all about love—loving God and loving others.

Jesus says in Mark 8:35, “Only those who throw away their lives for my sake and for the sake of the Good News will ever know what it means to really live” (TLB).

God wired you in such a way that you’ll never be happy unless you’re giving your life away in his work. You were made for something greater than yourself. The Bible calls this your mission in life. Significance doesn’t come from status, salary, or sex. It comes from service.

It’s only when you give your life away that you’ll feel fulfilled—like you’re living a life of significance.

Confía en que Dios Hará Grandes Cosas

“Jesús los miró y les contestó: —Para los hombres esto es imposible, pero para Dios todo es posible”. Mateo 19:26 (DHH)

Todo es posible con Dios.

“Jesús los miró y les contestó: —Para los hombres esto es imposible, pero para Dios todo es posible” Mateo 19:26 (DHH).

¿Por qué la Iglesia Saddleback lanzó el Plan P.E.A.C.E.? ¿Qué nos hace pensar que podríamos llevar a miles de iglesias a afrontar los cinco problemas más grandes del planeta? La respuesta es que tenemos un gran Dios.

La gente dice: “¿Quién te crees que eres?” Pregunta equivocada. La pregunta es: “¿Quién creemos que es Dios?” Mi Dios puede hacer cualquier cosa.

Jesús dijo: “Debido a su fe, así se hará” Mateo 9:29 (NTV).

Dios quiere usarte. Quiere bendecirte. Quiere hacer cosas maravillosas en tu vida. Quiere que cambies el mundo. Pero está esperando que confíes en Él.

Deja de decir: “No puedo”. “No puedo hacer que este matrimonio funcione”. “No puedo hacer lo que Dios quiere que haga”. “No puedo amar a los que son diferentes a mí”. ¡Esas son mentiras! Todo es posible con Dios.

Efesios 3:20 dice: “Y ahora, que toda la gloria sea para Dios, quien puede lograr mucho más de lo que pudiéramos pedir o incluso imaginar mediante su gran poder, que actúa en nosotros” (NTV).

Por eso, a través de este devocional, te reto. Porque sé que tienes un potencial enorme, mucho más allá de lo que jamás imaginaste. Dios quiere usarte, y de acuerdo con tu fe, se hará.

¿Sabes cuál es la mayor oposición a tu fe? No son otras personas. No son críticos. Ni siquiera es el diablo. Es tu propia incredulidad.

Tienes una opción. Puedes elegir creer en Dios o no. Puedes elegir confiar en Dios o no. Hay muchas cosas sobre las que no tienes control. Pero puedes elegir tener fe en Dios. ¿Quieres que Dios haga grandes cosas en tu vida? Entonces empieza a creer.

Reflexiona sobre esto:

¿Cuándo has visto a Dios hacer grandes cosas como resultado de la fe de alguien?¿En qué áreas confías fácilmente en Dios? ¿En qué áreas te es más difícil confiar en Él?¿Crees que Dios puede usarte para hacer grandes cosas por Él? ¿Por qué o por qué no?

Invest in Your Eternal Home

“Though I appreciate your gifts, what makes me happiest is the well-earned reward you will have because of your kindness.”

Philippians 4:17 (TLB)

Every time you’re generous, you invest in your eternal home.

Jesus called this principle “storing up treasure in heaven.” He actually used this phrase six times in the Bible! When Jesus says something six times, you better pay attention. If you don’t, you’re going to miss the blessing.

In Matthew 6:19-20, Jesus says, “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal” (NLT).

Most people get less than 100 years on this planet; then you have to leave all earthly treasure behind. But you will get to enjoy your heavenly treasure for eternity.

So how do you store up treasure in heaven? How do you send it on ahead? You do it by investing in people.

God wants you to invest in people because those investments have eternal consequences and rewards. There are only two things that will last forever: the Word of God and people. People will spend eternity in either heaven or hell, and your investment in someone could make all the difference.

Philippians 4:17 says, “Though I appreciate your gifts, what makes me happiest is the well-earned reward you will have because of your kindness” (TLB).

Paul wrote to the Philippians to express his appreciation for their support. But he said what meant the most—what brought him the most joy—was knowing that their sacrifice and generosity gave them treasure in heaven. They invested in him, but they also invested in their eternal home.

You will be rewarded for everything you’ve given away. Are you giving away your time? You’re going to be rewarded in heaven. Are you giving away your energy? You’re going to be rewarded in heaven. Are you giving away your money? You’re going to be rewarded in heaven.

As you go about your day, look for ways to be generous and invest in your eternal home.
