Solo la Familia de Dios Perdurará

“¡Gloria a él en la iglesia y en Cristo Jesús por todas las generaciones desde hoy y para siempre! Amén” Efesios 3:21 (NTV)

Durante los últimos días, hemos visto cómo puedes glorificar a Dios. Una de las mejores maneras en que puedes mostrar la gloria de Dios es uniéndote a la familia de Dios, la iglesia.

La Biblia dice en Efesios 3:21: “¡Gloria a él en la iglesia y en Cristo Jesús por todas las generaciones desde hoy y para siempre! Amén” (NTV).

¿Sabías que la familia de Dios es lo único que va a durar por la eternidad? Dentro de mil años, si la Tierra todavía está aquí, no habrá Microsoft. No habrá Hollywood. No habrá ninguna de las cosas a las que estamos acostumbrados hoy. De hecho, la Biblia promete que incluso el Cielo y la Tierra como los conocemos hoy no durarán para siempre; un día habrá un Cielo y una Tierra nuevos.

Pero todavía habrá la familia de Dios. Cuando todo lo demás se haya ido, la iglesia de Dios permanecerá.

Si la familia de Dios es lo único que durará para siempre, ¿no quieres unirte a ella? Ser parte de la familia de Dios, la iglesia, tiene todo tipo de beneficios. Una iglesia local te amará y te ayudará a crecer en la verdad y en conocimiento bíblico. Es un lugar donde puedes compartir tus talentos y beneficiarte de las habilidades de los demás.

Unirte a una familia espiritual será una de las cosas más importantes que hagas con tu vida. La iglesia está haciendo una diferencia en el mundo que va a durar más que tu carrera, tus pasatiempos y cualquier otra cosa que hagas.

¿Qué estás esperando? Encuentra tu familia espiritual y únete a una iglesia local hoy.

La familia de Dios es lo único que durará para siempre. ¿Cómo se alinean tus prioridades con esa realidad?Si no eres parte de una iglesia local, ¿qué pasos necesitas tomar en esa dirección?Si eres parte de una iglesia local, ¿cómo estás usando tus dones y habilidades para servir a otros en la iglesia y en tu comunidad?

¿Listo para unirte a la familia de Dios?

No importa lo que hayas hecho o dónde hayas estado, tienes un lugar listo y esperándote en la familia eterna de Dios. La invitación está abierta. Solo cree y recibe.

¿Estás listo? Aquí hay una oración con la que puedes comenzar:

“Querido Dios, sé que cuando muera, te daré cuenta de mi vida. Sé que he pecado contra ti y he vivido según mi plan, no el tuyo. Quiero que eso cambie, comenzando ahora mismo. Quiero alejarme de mis pecados y volverme hacia ti.

Gracias por enviar a Jesús a morir por todo lo que he hecho mal, para no tener que pagar la condena. Sé que no merezco tu perdón. Sé que solo tu gracia puede salvarme, Señor. Nunca podría ser lo suficientemente bueno para entrar en un lugar perfecto.

No Matter What You’ve Done, God Will Take You Back

“With deep love I will take you back.”

Isaiah 54:7 (GNT)

This Christmas season, do you need a little refreshment in your life? Are you feeling a little dried up? Do you need some revival?

Come back to God.

You may say, “Rick, you don’t know what I’ve done.” I don’t need to know, because it doesn’t matter who you are or what you’ve done. God still wants you to come back to him.

You may say, “Isn’t God going to scold me? I’ve been away from him for months, years, decades.” Here’s what the Bible says God will do when you come back to him: “With deep love I will take you back” (Isaiah 54:7 GNT).

God isn’t mad at you. God is mad about you! No one will ever love you more than the Creator who made you. God the Father created you, Jesus the Son died for you, and God’s Spirit wants to live in you. Christmas is proof of God’s love for you.

Many people can’t feel God’s love because they’re listening to the wrong voices. If you listen to what other people say about you, it’ll get you down. If you listen to what you tell yourself, it’ll get you down. Stop believing everything you tell yourself, because it’s not all true. You lie to yourself more than you lie to anybody else. You’re not the best judge of you, because your feelings lie all the time. (This is true for all of us!)

You have to decide whom you’re going to believe. Are you going to build your life on what everybody else thinks about you? Are you going to listen to what the critics say about you on social media? Are you going to listen to your own feelings?

Or are you going to listen to what God says about you, which is the truth?

Acts 3:19 says, “Now it’s time to change your ways! Turn to face God so he can wipe away your sins [and] pour out showers of blessing to refresh you” (MSG).

You’re deeply flawed, but you are deeply loved, and you are infinitely valuable. You may have come to the end of yourself and feel like you don’t have anywhere to turn. But there is always Someone to turn to.

With deep love, God will take you back.

Talk It Over

Do you believe God loves you despite the worst things you’ve ever done? Why or why not?
Whose voice do you listen to most often? Whose opinion holds the most weight in your life?
What are some of the things God says about you in his Word? Do you trust that those things are true?

Have you trusted Jesus for your salvation?

The Bible says we can only get to heaven by trusting in God through his Son, Jesus Christ. And we don’t need to earn God’s love or work our way into heaven. The Bible says, “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV).

If you haven’t trusted in Jesus and committed to following him, why wait any longer? If you’re ready to step across that line and make a decision to believe in Jesus Christ and follow him, pray this prayer:

“Dear Jesus, you promised that if I believe in you, everything I’ve ever done wrong will be forgiven, I will learn the purpose of my life, and you will accept me into your eternal home in heaven one day.

“I confess my sin, and I believe that you are my Savior. You have promised that if I confess my sin and trust you, I will be saved. I trust you when you say that salvation comes by grace, through faith, and not by anything I do. I receive you into my life as my Lord. Today I’m turning over every part of my life to your management. You have the right to call the shots in my life.

“Jesus, I want to use the rest of my life to serve you instead of serving myself. I commit my life to you and ask you to save me and accept me into your family. In your name I pray. Amen.”

Tus Dones son para Otras Personas

“Dios, de su gran variedad de dones espirituales, les ha dado un don a cada uno de ustedes. Úsenlos bien para servirse los unos a los otros”. 1 Pedro 4:10 (NTV)

Cuando todos usamos nuestras habilidades para ayudarnos unos a otros, Dios es glorificado. La Biblia dice: “Dios, de su gran variedad de dones espirituales, les ha dado un don a cada uno de ustedes. Úsenlos bien para servirse los unos a los otros” 1 Pedro 4:10 (NTV).

Dios te preparó para poder hacer una contribución. Él no te dio talentos y habilidades para tu propio beneficio. Son para el beneficio de otras personas. Y, a su vez, los talentos de otras personas son para tu beneficio.

Estoy muy agradecido por las personas que son talentosas en áreas donde yo no lo soy. Por ejemplo, estoy agradecido por los contadores, ¡porque soy pésimo en la contabilidad! Y estoy agradecido por las personas que tienen habilidades mecánicas. No podría arreglar un carburador si tuviera que hacerlo. ¡Ni siquiera sabría dónde está!

Todo el mundo tiene diferentes talentos.

Un talento que Dios me ha dado es tomar la Palabra de Dios y dejarla clara para que otras personas la entiendan. Cuando uso esa habilidad, tú eres bendecido.

Pero aquí está el punto: tú también tienes talentos. ¿Cómo los estás usando para bendecir a otros? Si no lo estás haciendo, ¿cuándo vas a empezar?

Cuando no usas el talento que Dios te dio, otras personas son defraudadas. Pero cuando usas tu talento y habilidades para servir a otros, ellos son bendecidos, y Dios es glorificado.

Reflexiona sobre esto:

¿Qué dones te ha dado Dios?¿Cómo los estás usando para servir a otros? ¿Cómo crees que Dios quiere que los uses para beneficio de los demás?¿De quién en tu vida puedes aceptar ayuda para que utilice sus dones para dar gloria a Dios?Si todavía no has confiado en Jesús y no te has comprometido a seguirlo, ¿por qué esperar más? This Christmas, Get to Know Your Savior

“He came to the world that was his own, but his own people did not accept him. But to all who did accept him and believe in him he gave the right to become children of God.”

John 1:11-12 (NCV)

Nobody’s perfect. That’s pretty common knowledge! I’ve met thousands of people as I’ve traveled around the world, and I’ve never met anybody who claimed to be sinless.

I don’t measure up to my own standards, much less God’s—and you don’t either. We all have flaws, and we all make fumbles.

That’s why you need to know Jesus, the Savior who came to die for your sins.

Heaven is a perfect place—no sorrow, sadness, or sickness. Heaven is beyond your wildest dreams! Heaven is perfect, but you and I are not. If God let imperfect people into heaven, then it wouldn’t be a perfect place. If God let us into heaven with all of our imperfections, then heaven would be no better than earth.

But God had a plan: He came to earth at Christmastime. He sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to live a perfect life in your place. Then Jesus died to pay for all of your sins so you don’t have to. You get to go to heaven by just trusting him. What a deal!

“He came to the world that was his own, but his own people did not accept him. But to all who did accept him and believe in him he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:11-12 NCV).

When you trust in Jesus as your Savior, you become part of God’s family, and that family is going to last forever.

God created everybody. God loves everybody. God has a purpose for everybody. But God is only the Father of those who choose to become part of his family by meeting the family requirements: Believe in his Son. That’s the condition.

God made you, but he also saved you. The reason he came at Christmas was to die for all your sins.

I can’t think of a better reason to give him your focus and devotion.

Trust Jesus as Your Savior today

What better time than Christmas to trust Jesus as your Savior? If you’re ready to commit your life to him today, then pray this prayer:

“Dear Jesus, you have promised that if I believe in you, everything I’ve ever done wrong will be forgiven, I will learn the purpose of my life, and you will accept me into your eternal home in heaven one day.

“I confess my sin, and I believe that you are God, my Savior. I receive you into my life as my Lord. Today, I’m turning every part of my life over to you. I want to follow you and do what you tell me to do.

“Jesus, I am grateful for your love and for your sacrifice that makes it possible for me to join you in heaven. I know I don’t deserve it. And I thank you that I don’t have to earn or work for my salvation, because I know that’s impossible. I want to use the rest of my life to serve you instead of serving myself. I humbly commit my life to you, and I ask you to save me and accept me into your family. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

Cómo Amar como Dios lo Hace

“Acéptense unos a otros, tal como Cristo los aceptó a ustedes, para que Dios reciba la gloria”. Romanos 15:7 (NTV)

¿Sabías que cada vez que demuestras amor, le das gloria a Dios?

Así es como funciona. Cada vez que muestras cómo es Dios, le das gloria. Y Dios es amor. Entonces, cuando amas, muestras la gloria de Dios.

Dios dice: “Yo soy amoroso. soy compasivo Quiero que seas como yo. Quiero que desarrolles mi carácter”.

Nunca vas a ser Dios. Pero Dios quiere que te vuelvas piadoso. Quiere que desarrolles su carácter, de tal padre tal hijo, de tal padre tal hija. Él quiere que aprendas a amar a las personas como Él las ama.

Hay muchas maneras de amar como Dios lo hace. Una manera de amar a otras personas es aceptándolas.

Romanos 15:7 dice: “Acéptense unos a otros, tal como Cristo los aceptó a ustedes, para que Dios reciba la gloria” (NTV).

Dios quiere que aceptes a todos, pase lo que pase. ¿Significa eso que tienes que aprobar todo lo que hacen? ¡Por supuesto que no!

Hay una diferencia entre aceptación y aprobación. Si bien Dios te ama y te acepta incondicionalmente, no aprueba todo lo que haces. Debería ser lo mismo para ti. Puedes aceptar a todos sin aprobar todo lo que hacen.

El amor no es decir: “Apruebo todo lo que haces”. El amor es decir: “Te acepto a pesar de lo que hagas”.

Con cada persona que te encuentres hoy, aprovecha la oportunidad de darle gloria a Dios amando como Él ama, con aceptación incondicional.

What to Do When You Start to Worry

“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways.”

Psalm 37:7 (NIV)

You may not hear the word “fret” much anymore. It’s an older word that just means “worry.” When you fret, you get stressed out, anxious, and impatient. You worry because things are either happening too fast and you can’t handle the change or because things are going too slow and you want God to speed things up.

We don’t usually mind waiting if we can gripe about it. But when you choose to wait patiently on God instead of fretting, it is a statement of faith. You’re making a declaration about God’s character. When you wait patiently, you’re saying that you trust God and have faith in him. You’re humbly admitting your dependence on him.

The Bible says in Psalm 37:7, “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways” (NIV).

One of the biggest reasons we get stressed out is because we’re constantly comparing ourselves to others. Instead of focusing on God’s love and what he’s done for us, we look at other people, focusing on what they have that we don’t.

Comparing yourself to others is never wise. Why? Because you’re one of a kind! God has a plan for your life that’s different from his plan for anyone else. If you’re wishing that God gave you another person’s plan, then you’re going to miss the plan for your life! Comparing leads to fretting. When you compare, you start worrying.

But worry is worthless. Any second you spend worrying is wasted, because worry can’t accomplish anything. Worry can’t change the past. It can’t control the future. It’s only going to make you miserable today. It’s like sitting in a rocking chair, going back and forth, back and forth. You don’t make any progress, and you use a lot of energy.

Philippians 4:6 says, “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers” (MSG).

Worry will never change anything, but prayer will. So don’t fret this Christmas season. Just pray!

Entrégate para que Vivas en el Poder de Dios

“Pues el reino de Dios no consiste en las muchas palabras sino en vivir por el poder de Dios” 1 Corintios 4:20 (NTV)

Para vivir una vida plena, debes vivir por el poder de Dios.

La Biblia dice en 1 Corintios 4:20, “Pues el reino de Dios no consiste en las muchas palabras sino en vivir por el poder de Dios” (NTV).

¿Sabías que Dios no bendice a las personas autosuficientes? Bendice a las personas que dependen de Él y se entregan a Él.

Dios quiere usarte, pero insiste en que vivas por Su poder. Efesios 3:20 dice: “Ahora que toda la gloria sea para Dios, quien puede lograr mucho más de lo que pudiéramos pedir o incluso imaginar mediante su gran poder, que actúa en nosotros” (NTV).

A través de su poder, Dios puede hacer más en ti y a través de ti de lo que puedas imaginar. Entonces, ¿cómo obtienes el poder de Dios en tu vida? Hay tres maneras:

Obtienes el poder de Dios al orar.
Si no tienes ningún poder en tu vida, eso podría significar que no estás orando. La oración y el poder van juntos.

Obtienes el poder de Dios al tomar riesgos para obedecer a Dios.
Cuando te arriesgas a hacer lo que Dios te dice que hagas, incluso cuando es difícil o impopular, incluso cuando te puede costar, incluso cuando no tiene sentido, incluso cuando nadie más lo está haciendo, Dios derramará su poder en tu vida.

Obtienes el poder de Dios al no rendirte.
Para que Dios haga crecer tu fe, Él la probará. Cuando estás pasando por dificultades, retrasos, desesperación o desánimo, Dios te está enseñando a confiar en Él. Espera, y Dios te bendecirá. ¡No te rindas!

Empieza a vivir en el poder de Dios entregándole tu vida hoy.

Resilient People Know How to Be Still

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”

Mark 1:35 (NIV)

The key to resisting stress is the very thing that many Christians do the least: spend time alone with God. And yet this spiritual practice is absolutely essential to building a resilient spirit and managing chronic stress.

Prayer is a great stress reliever. It’s a decompression chamber, where you can release the stress of keeping up appearances and living up to others’ expectations. It’s how you unload your burdens and admit you can’t carry them on your own. It’s where you are reminded that God is ready and willing to help you with every stressful thing you experience in life. It’s cathartic.

How do you develop a habit of spending time alone with God? Habits are developed through practice and repetition. It’s not a habit unless you do it over and over again, until it happens regularly and consistently.

Jesus developed spiritual habits. The Bible says in Luke 22:39 that it was Jesus’ habit to leave Jerusalem and go across the valley to the Mount of Olives to pray. And Mark 1:35 says, “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed” (NIV).

Jesus was convinced that, no matter how busy he was, he needed time alone with God to pray. Do you have any time like that in your life? Do you ever slow down and get quiet before God so you can reflect and be renewed? If you want to be a resilient person, then you have to develop the habit of spending time with God.

While word spread about Jesus and huge crowds of people were coming to hear him speak, Jesus made time alone with God a habit. The Bible says, “Jesus often slipped away to be alone so he could pray” (Luke 5:15-16 NCV). If Jesus felt the need to frequently leave the crowd and get alone with God, then think about how much more we must need that.

Because noise often causes stress, you need to start your morning with God instead of with your phone, TV, radio, or social media feeds. Be still, be quiet, and be open to the work God wants to do in you make a habit of meditating on his Word and being in his presence.

Para Tener la Bendición de Dios en tu Vida, ponlo a Él Primero

“Lleven una vida que Dios considere digna. Pues él los llamó para que tengan parte en su reino y gloria”. 1 Tesalonicenses 2:12 (NTV)

Hablo con personas todo el tiempo que me dicen: “Tengo tanto y, sin embargo, me siento insatisfecho. Tengo una buena familia, un buen trabajo y buenos amigos. Soy parte de una gran iglesia. Entonces, ¿por qué me siento tan insatisfecho? Mi respuesta es: ¡Es porque fuiste hecho para más que esto! Fuiste creado para algo más que sobrevivir.

Hasta que comiences a vivir en el Reino de Dios, por el poder de Dios y para la gloria de Dios, nunca encontrarás la realización en la vida.

¿Cómo vives una vida plena, el tipo de vida que Dios te diseñó para vivir?

La Biblia dice en 1 Tesalonicenses 2:12: “Lleven una vida que Dios considere digna. Pues él los llamó para que tengan parte en su reino y gloria” (NTV).

¿Qué significa vivir en el Reino de Dios? Significa que haces de la agenda de Dios tu agenda. Tú haces de la voluntad de Dios tu voluntad. Te preocupas por lo que a Dios le importa. Pones a Dios primero en cualquier área que quieras que Él bendiga.

¿Qué significa poner a Dios primero en tu vida? Aquí hay cinco áreas donde puedes poner a Dios “PRIMERO”:

Finanzas. Si quieres que Dios bendiga tus finanzas, incluso durante tiempos difíciles, comienza a diezmar.

Intereses. Ponlo primero en tus pasatiempos, tu carrera y tu recreación. Dale a Dios la primera consideración en cada decisión.

Relaciones. Ponlo primero en tu familia, tu matrimonio y tus amistades.

Agenda. Dale la primera parte de cada día. Cuando te despiertes, siéntate a un lado de tu cama y di: “Dios, si no hago nada más hoy, solo quiero amarte un poco más y conocerte un poco mejor”.

Problemas. Acude a Dios primero cuando tengas un problema. La oración nunca debe ser tu último recurso. Debe ser tu primera opción.

Pon a Dios primero en todo. Entonces mira cuánto te bendice Dios.
