Future Happenings

I didn't know I could write until January of this year, let alone spill out a story so quickly. I've managed to release five novels since May due to that ability and the ton of hours I put in. I'm determined to get one more out right at the end of the year, and that would be Matt and Morgan (Soul Mates 101 series, Book 4). It's about half Matt and Morgan and half Nate and Tory. You'll finally find out why Matt is so guarded. There is that dark component, but also humor and sweet love, especially with the young blooming romance between Nate and Tory. Early next year, I'm hoping to release my first teen novel, which I am writing at this moment. Around Valentine's Day, I will be releasing a story with a love triangle. These two guys are sexy as ever, pining for the same girl. It's going to be one hot book!Before the end of 2014, I will release Nate and Tory. I'm not promising, but this novel should bring us to the conclusion of the Nashville gangs story. You will get to read the prequel to A Week for Love to Bloom, where you find out how Jonathan and Emily got together in college, and depending on the success of the that and the series, I might do one more book that ties in with A Week for Love to Bloom. It would take place several years in the future. Also, in 2014, I will be releasing my first erotica romance. This is new territory for me, so we'll see how it goes. I'm sure I'll throw something else in too for the year. New stories come to me everyday. Please feel free to contact me and tell me what you think about my writing and novels. Why Does Justin Call Lauren "Woman"?

In A Week for Love to Bloom, Justin calls Lauren "woman" repeatedly as a term of endearment. Some might find it offensive, but I feel it's pretty obvious in this story that he means it in a very playful, loving way.

I thought of using "woman" since my husband calls me that. He doesn't use it near as frequently as Justin, but when he does, I smile, knowing that he's happy and feels he can be playful with me. It doesn't get much better than hearing Patrick say, "Get over here and give me a kiss, woman." with his arms stretched open and a smile on his face.

I hope all my readers have someone playful and loving in their world, but if not, you can live vicariously through Justin and Lauren until you meet them.

Why Hawaii?

Summer 2011, my family was fortunate to have the opportunity to visit the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. It was a trip we never thought would happen in our lifetime, and it was a much needed vacation for my husband, our son and myself since we were grieving over the loss of our other child. It gave the three of us an opportunity to reconnect and see that we could find enjoyment in our life again. Beauty and wonder was still all around us. Ryan, the son we'd lost a year and a half earlier, would've wanted us to go on and live our life to the fullest.

We visited more small beaches than I could count, swam with sea turtles and participated in the Shark Cage tour I mention in The Mermaid and her King, along with a ton of other activities. We absolutely fell in love with the North Shore, especially Haleiwa, a small town in the area. I wasn't a writer then, but as soon as I began writing this year, I knew I wanted to write a novel that took place there.

Writing The Mermaid and her King and A Voice for my Soul to Sing gave my mind the opportunity to go back to that special place repeatedly. I also learned from that trip though, that beauty and opportunity is everywhere. We didn't have to stay in Hawaii to recognize and embrace it.

Flowers and Landscaping

You might notice in most of my novels that flowers, gardens or landscaping is mentioned. My family gardened while I was growing up, so I spent a lot of time helping and picking vegetables. My father has always loved flowers and grows the most gorgeous roses every year. His favorite is the Abe Lincoln. 
I have to admit that my yard is pretty sad now that I spend almost all my time writing, but I've always enjoyed to do the landscaping at our homes. I love color, so flowers draw my attention. When I see the new blooms and nature coming alive in the Springtime, it makes me think of love and new beginnings. This is one of the reasons I enjoy referencing them in my novels.
