The Scars Keeper Teasers
Here are the first two teasers from The Scars Keeper releasing November 16th! This is a YA novel that's heart-stirring and full of angst. It's about self-harm and abuse yet a beautiful love story that reveals a deep level of loyalty, love, respect and strength. It's also a story about teens coming together and realizing they're not so different from one another. I hope you will pre-order it.

Let's Spread Kindness
For those who are not friends with me on Facebook, this is my most recent post. I wish to share it with you.
I can no longer deal with the negativity I see on social media. If you insult others, call names and belittle because someone's beliefs are different than your own, or if you spew negativity, hatred or racism, then you're not the kind of person I'd choose to have as a friend in real life, so why should I have you as one on Facebook or other social media sites??
It's not people's race, sexual orientation, political or religious views, careers, wealth or poverty I judge. It's how they treat others. It's whether or not they exhibit goodness in their hearts. Same goes for the deceit and negativity in the book world. I've become untrusting, jaded and downright sad most days because of how I and others have been mistreated, and it stops here.
Tolerating the cruelty and negativity is not worth making a buck. I'll continue to write for my readers, along with myself because I love it, and if my business doesn't grow because I chose to surround myself with goodness and light then so be it.
I won't compromise my principles any longer. Happiness, love, good health and self-respect is my idea of success. Not my popularity or wealth. Individually, we might only be a speck in this colossal world, but if we contributed our goodness, then as a whole we would truly make the world a better place. ❤️

The Scars Keeper Excerpt

Avery's POV:
Now that the trees are no longer sheltering us, I can see his serious face. “We can’t continue spending time together. You can come to the clearing, but if I see you there, I’m turning back,” he says.“Why?”“If you were my girlfriend, you wouldn’t be spending time with another guy, and I already told you I’m not gonna be that other guy.”It’s bold and heightens my nerves, but I can’t resist tucking a strand of his hair behind his ear like he so often does. “Maybe I need to be single then because I’m finding I like spending time with you.”He briefly closes his eyes, but in a beat, he’s wrapping a hand around my wrist to lower it, causing my fingers to slip from his hair. “I can’t get close to you, and don’t bother asking why because I can’t tell you. Good night, Avery.”

Fail to Trust
Travis's POV:
There’s a knock on my apartment door. I smile, already knowing it’s Becca. She texted me saying she was on her way over with exciting news. She’s giving me her radiant grin when I open the door. Her blond hair is up high in that messy ball I love.“You’re not going to believe this. My parents just gave Molly and me a trip to Europe for the next two months. They said it’s a late graduation present.”I stare at her in silence. Unsure of what to think or say.“Can you believe it?” she asks.“No, I can’t. I thought your parents liked me.” I honestly did think Becca and Reese’s parents approved of me, but this has me questioning that, along with Becca’s feelings for me.We’re supposed to be assuming Reese’s lease at her apartment next week, and conveniently Becca’s folks are now giving her a trip to Europe. What the hell is that about?“They do like you, Trav, but they want to give me this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity before I join the working world and settle down.”“I don’t care what shit they fed you, this is to separate us.” Becs steps closer and slides a hand through my hair.“Aww, sweetie, I don’t believe that for a second. This has nothing to do with us moving in together. But if that were the case, we would have to let it divide us, and we won’t allow that. They’ll see when I return that nothing has changed.”
