Blurb Time-A Week for Love to Bloom
Is it coincidence or fate that brings Justin Garrison and Lauren Evans together on the same dark, country road one May night? Twenty-five year old Justin quit his job on an oilrig in California and traveled back to his hometown of Masonville, Tennessee. He intended for his vacation in Masonville to be a pit stop on his path to creating a future elsewhere, but an encounter with the beautiful and independent Lauren Evans turns Justin’s future plans upside down. After a devastating betrayal by her father, twenty-one year old Lauren is left to manage her family’s garden and nursery business in Masonville. Although guarded from the betrayal, she still longs to find love. After a few chance encounters, Justin and Lauren are unable to resist each other. The magnetic attraction between them opens their worlds to an enthralling period of lust and passion. Will the intensity be too much for them to trust, or will a secret Justin’s family holds about Lauren destroy their chance at a future together?

Teaser-A Week for Love to Bloom
Lauren jumped out and walked back to meet up with him in the road. The darkness had her questioning her decision once again. “Listen, I’m sorry. I got spooked. Please let me give you a ride.” The man furrowed his brow. “No thanks. I’m good.” Lauren grasped her hips and lightly stomped her right boot at an angle in front of her. “Just let me give you the damn ride. I feel bad about yelling at you and throwing you out.” She observed him trying to conceal a smile and figured he found her change in behavior amusing. “Fine. If you’re sure.” They both walked back to her truck. “Sorry, I’ve never picked up a hitchhiker before. I’ll admit I’m questioning my sanity.” “If it makes you feel better, I’m not a hitchhiker. I chose to walk, and murder is not a pastime of mine, either.” Lauren took a glimpse at him. She felt safer once she saw a grin on his face. “Are you headed somewhere close?” she asked. “I’m staying just a couple of miles down the road. So … what are you doing out this way so late on a Friday night? And I couldn’t help but notice your work boots. What are those all about?” Lauren kept her eyes on the road as a chuckle escaped her. “I didn’t see that question coming. I was out of town today visiting someone, so I had a long trip back, and as far as the work boots ... I work outside every day. Do you make it a habit of admiring women’s shoes?” “Masonville may be in the country, but I don’t recall seeing many women in work boots when I lived here, especially any that were attractive. I was just curious.” Lauren blushed. She passed the road she lived on and made a mental note that where he was staying was only a half-mile from her home. After driving a little further, the silence made her uncomfortable. “Did you grow up in Masonville?” she asked. She glanced his way as the cool breeze whisked through his tousled hair. Lauren thought the length was just right; long enough to run her fingers through. She was unaware of how long she stared at him until he grinned and pointed to the road in front of them. Lauren swiftly looked straight ahead as her face turned crimson. “I’m from here, but I’ve lived out of state a long time. The house is right up there on the left,” he said, pointing to a spacious home that Lauren always admired whenever she passed it. She pulled up into the driveway. Justin got out of the truck and grabbed his bag before he leaned back into the passenger side and smirked. “You know, you really shouldn’t pick up men on the side of the road. They might be serial killers or even worse—axe murderers.” He ran a hand through his wind-blown hair. Lauren flashed a grin. “I guess I got lucky this time.” “Can I get your name in case I take up stalking instead of murder?” he asked.

Why I Started Writing
There are a few reasons I started writing. One reason is because I started reading romance novels over the last couple of years and couldn't believe how much I fell in love with a lot of the characters. I found myself daydreaming often about different plots. My good friend Red Tash is a writer, and I got inspiration from watching her on her book publishing journey. You can find her website in my links.
I started wondering if I could do it, so I told Red my plot and she encouraged me just to go for it. I did that very week and I have been on a roll ever since. I have written four books in a series, although only one is near ready for publishing.
Another reason I decided to write is because I wanted a career I could do from home or anywhere really. I was a stay at home mom for many years, so I lost a lot of the skills I had from previous jobs. I earned an associates degree in human services three years ago and was accepted to a university to go on and receive my bachelors, but a tragedy took place in my life and then I wanted no part of social work. That is the third reason I decided to write...
My sixteen year old son Ryan passed away from suicide March 4th, 2010. The last three years have been brutal for my family and me. I needed an outlet. I needed something to distract me from the pain. Writing has done that for me. I've been a different person since January, and it has truly saved my life.

Hello, hello!
This is my first post. How exciting! I am a new author who only started writing in January. It is the first writing I have ever done other than in school which was a LONG time ago. My first novel will be out in mid to late May and is a contemporary romance. It is called A Week for Love to Bloom, the first novel in the Soul Mates 101 series. I will have the cover up in the next couple of weeks and hopefully a teaser. If you are interested in that sort of read then please stay tuned, and if you know others who like that genre then please spread the word.
I look forward to meeting some great writers!
Thanks,
Scarlet
