Why I Started Writing

There are a few reasons I started writing. One reason is because I started reading romance novels over the last couple of years and couldn't believe how much I fell in love with a lot of the characters. I found myself daydreaming often about different plots. My good friend Red Tash is a writer, and I got inspiration from watching her on her book publishing journey. You can find her website in my links.
I started wondering if I could do it, so I told Red my plot and she encouraged me just to go for it. I did that very week and I have been on a roll ever since. I have written four books in a series, although only one is near ready for publishing.
Another reason I decided to write is because I wanted a career I could do from home or anywhere really. I was a stay at home mom for many years, so I lost a lot of the skills I had from previous jobs. I earned an associates degree in human services three years ago and was accepted to a university to go on and receive my bachelors, but a tragedy took place in my life and then I wanted no part of social work. That is the third reason I decided to write...
My sixteen year old son Ryan passed away from suicide March 4th, 2010. The last three years have been brutal for my family and me. I needed an outlet. I needed something to distract me from the pain. Writing has done that for me. I've been a different person since January, and it has truly saved my life.
