Why Does Justin Call Lauren "Woman"?

In A Week for Love to Bloom, Justin calls Lauren "woman" repeatedly as a term of endearment. Some might find it offensive, but I feel it's pretty obvious in this story that he means it in a very playful, loving way.

I thought of using "woman" since my husband calls me that. He doesn't use it near as frequently as Justin, but when he does, I smile, knowing that he's happy and feels he can be playful with me. It doesn't get much better than hearing Patrick say, "Get over here and give me a kiss, woman." with his arms stretched open and a smile on his face.

I hope all my readers have someone playful and loving in their world, but if not, you can live vicariously through Justin and Lauren until you meet them.
