Book Spotlight and Roxy’s Review – Marine With Benefits – Heather Long

Blurb:

She’s his best friend’s sister…

From cradle to grave, Derek and Keith grew up together, enlisted, served, and rose through the ranks together. When Keith died in the field, the last thing he asked was for Derek to keep watch over his sister. But every time Derek is around Kara, he wants to touch her. A promise stands between them and he refuses to seduce his best friend’s baby sister. Determined to get her out of his mind, he signs up for a one-night stand.

He’s the one she wants…

Ever since Kara ran into a shirtless Derek, she’s known he was the one. He promised to bring her brother home and he was there for her at his funeral. But he remains unattainable, no matter their chemistry. Frustrated, she takes a girlfriend’s advice and signs up for a one-night stand.

The last person they expected…

Dressed to kill, Kara doesn’t know whether to scream or cry when Derek turns out to be her date. He’s furious that she’d sign up for a night of sex with a perfect stranger, but together their reunion is combustible and neither can deny the power of their attraction.

He may have been her brother’s best friend, but she wants him to be her Marine with Benefits.

Author Interview – Morgan K Wyatt – Dangerous Curves – Giveaway

Let’s welcome Morgan K. Wyatt, a talented, multi-published author. With such a busy writing schedule, I’m sure Morgan’s fans would be curious to find out what she does to kick back and have some fun, as well as what’s her idea of the perfect date. But most importantly, we’ll find out about one of her latest releases, Dangerous Curves, which promises to be packed with excitement and, of course, romance.

Morgan, I’m delighted to have you here. Tell us a little about yourself.

Hi Roxy, thanks for inviting me. I am an Indiana farmer’s daughter. Any details about farming, hunting or outdoorsy stuff is experience-based. I was one of the first women to go through combat training trial. I am also the reason it probably took so long to approve women for combat. It was something about a grenade as I remember it.

I have two sons, one stepson, one daughter and a stepdaughter plus a brand-new husband. We’re still newlyweds. One indulged boxer mix dog is also part of the family.

What is your passion?

I have several passions with writing being the overriding one, followed by reading, cooking, eating what I cooked and gardening.

What do you do to just kick back and have some fun?

I love swimming, picking up seashells on the beach, and have recently developed a Pinterest obsession.

What is the funniest/weirdest pick-up line ever used on you?

My friend told me she asks attractive men in the grocery to help her pick out wine for a party. My son came home from the grocery informed me that some woman asked him to pick out wine. I had to fuss at my friend for hitting on my son.

On the other hand, I never recognize a pick up line. I assume the man really does want to know what cheese to serve with a dry wine, or what the best dog biscuit would be for an elderly dog, or even wants me to give him driving directions to the bookstore. You see those are the types, I attract. 

What is your idea of the perfect date?

I love warm weather, which means the date would be in the summer. I love surprises, so I would want to be surprised. All I would want to know is what clothes to wear or bring. A walk along the beach under a full moon would be a nice ending too. I will admit I am fortunate to have a husband who loves to surprise me.

Finish this sentence: I love a man who …tries to understand a woman’s viewpoint, instead of making assumptions.

How did you become a writer?

Blame it on my mother, who taught me to read and write at age four. I had to do something in school since I didn’t need to learn how to read and write. I told the other children how the reading books ended and I wrote them notes they couldn’t read. This was my first day of school. I am sure my teacher loved me.

Which genres do you write?

Contemporary and Historical romances

Non-fiction

Romantic suspense

Paranormal Time Travel

What do your significant others think about the stories you write?

My sweetie helps me a lot from proofing and working on the web site. He wrote most of the male dialogue for Unexpected Cougar.

Check out the website because he is thinking of going into a side business of making websites for authors. http://www.morgankwyatt.com

Do you have a book boyfriend?

Anyone Amanda Quick creates. I like her heroes because they are intelligent, deep and aloof.

Tell us about your latest release.

Dangerous Curves is one of my most current romance. This fun, sexy contemporary romance is about Krista Harlow who attends a school administrator’s conference hoping for a little flirtation and a break from her routine. She gets so much more when she attracts the attention of Wolfe Jackson, an agent who is looking for a domestic terrorist and the trail leads to Krista.

The tale has nail biting moments, sensual scenes and plenty of laughs. The book ends in a dramatic climax in a Renaissance Fair.

Is there anyone you give credit to for helping you write this book?

I always give my husband great credit because not only does he listen to me read dialogue, but also, he often cooks and clean when I go into edits.

What has the experience of writing this book taught you?

Little things matter. My wonderful editor, Larriane could not believe you didn’t have to wear motorcycles helmets in Indiana or Ohio. Adults don’t have to.

What can readers expect from you next? When?

Incognito, a contemporary romance novella from Secret Cravings Publishers has just been released.

Seeking Shelter, a women’s fiction novel from Secret Cravings, should be out near the end of August. This is not a romance, but rather the tale of how an abused wife picks the fragments of her life and is able to piece it back together.

Thank you so much for sharing, Morgan. Now let’s find out more about Dangerous Curves.

Blurb:

Wolfe Jackson is hot on the trail of a domestic terroristic who has been causing havoc and panic by blowing up factories. The trail, although sketchy, has led to a convention in the Midwest. Is it a false trail? Wolfe is unsure, but he knows that a certain blonde named Krista bears investigating.

Krista Harlow finds her life as a principal dull. So bland in fact, she thinks attending the annual principal conference might enliven it. She even harbors secret romantic aspirations. As a principal, she must keep everything strait laced and buttoned down, but that was before she was mistaken for a corporate spy and saboteur, and possible murderer.

Excerpt:

“Rachel, didn’t you hear me calling?” He stepped closer and put one hand on her arm, sending an arc of electricity through her body.

This is where it got difficult. How well did Rachel know him? If they’d been lovers, she would know him very, very well—definitely well enough to remember his name.

“So sorry, handsome,” Krista purred. “I was thinking about the dress I didn’t buy.”

“Sounds like you. Have you had dinner yet?” He watched her with one expressive eyebrow lifted.

“Um…no.” Krista had doubts about how far she should go with the Rachel thing, but she needed to eat sometime. Why not have dinner with him? Oh sure, it would be a hardship to have dinner with Mr. Stud Muffin.

He cupped her elbow and guided her in the direction of the steak house where the aroma of mesquite-flavored beef enticed shoppers. There was a significant wait so they moved to the bar. A few people called out greetings as they entered. She listened closely in effort to catch his name. Krista was sure his name wasn’t buddy or friend—no help there. He ordered oversized margaritas for both of them. Krista was about to tell him iced tea when she remembered Rachel might love margaritas.

“Wolfe, Wolfe Jackson. You don’t remember me, do you?”

His grin was devastating against his tanned skin. He reminded Krista of a pirate, the swashbuckling type as opposed to the peg-legged ones. She was lost. Perhaps someone would scrape her up as she melted at his feet. Krista shook her head since talking was more than she could handle at that moment.

“We met at my cousin’s wedding, Samuel Levinson. I believe he married your friend Ruth, or is she your cousin?” Wolfe placed his hand over hers on the bar.

Krista nodded eagerly at the verbal lifeline he’d thrown her while she tried to ignore the heat radiating from his hand. “She was, um, is, my friend. I don’t see her much since I moved.” He might wonder if she never talked to her cousin. Krista gulped the margarita in an attempt to alleviate the sudden heat streaking through her body, but the alcohol raised her body temperature instead. Not one of her better ideas. The liquor singed her empty stomach like three-alarm chili, while giving her an air of flirtatiousness she normally lacked. She remembered why she didn’t drink—she couldn’t hold her liquor.

The bartender lingered nearby and asked if they needed anything. Krista looked Wolfe up and down boldly and knew she had everything she needed. Wolfe’s wink caught her unawares, and she almost slipped off the stool. In a flash, he was beside her, wrapping an arm around her waist. For an instant, she leaned into him, inhaling the smell of sandalwood, soap, and a hint of gasoline. Then she remembered she was supposed to be sitting on a stool not oozing all over him like a melted ice cream bar and jerked upright. What kind of girl was Rachel? Krista was secretly hoping Rachel was a touch fast. Fast sounded superb.

Author Bio:

Morgan K Wyatt, raised on a steady diet of superheroes, believed she could fly at a very young age. After using trees, barn lofts, sliding boards, and even a second story window as launch pads, she found her flying skills were limited to fast and downward. By the age of nine, her dreams to be a superhero needed some modifications, which caused her to turn to writing and horseback riding as alternatives to flying.

At the age of twenty, she had another chance at superhero greatness as being one of the few female soldiers trained for combat. The fact that women will be able to serve in combat soon indicates that all the witnesses to the grenade incident have retired. The grenade incident didn’t prevent her two sons or daughter-in-law from enlisting in the service. Having different last names probably helped.

Morgan recently retired from teaching special needs students to write full-time, instead of in the wee hours of the night. With the help of her helpful husband and loyal hound, she creates characters who often grab plot lines and run with them. As for flying, she prefers the airlines now.

My Sexy Saturday: He’s So Into You

My Sexy Saturday Blog Hop is here again. Isn’t that wonderful?

Powered by Linky Tools

Click here to see the list of other Sexy Saturday authors, as well as links to 7 words, 7 sentences or 7 paragraphs which illustrate their ideas about what is sexy…

I believe sexy can be illustrated in a woman’s awareness of the man who’s possibly just right for her. That is not all. Even though someone might be differently able, he or she can still be sexy. In other words, sexy is in the eye of the beholder.

The following 7 paragraphs, from my debut erotic romance novella, He’s So Into You, describe Raina Abbott’s first impression of the sexy Jordan Cooper as he enters the private dining room, which is specifically reserved for them on their blind date, a date which is orchestrated by their meddlesome friends, Jayce and Caleb.

Excerpt:

Raina studied the man who opened the double doors, which led to the dining room. What a man he was! As he walked toward her, she took in all of him. It did not escape her notice his strides were slightly uneven, and on closer inspection she deduced he’d lost a part of his right leg, just below his knee. However, he walked with such utter confidence, it only added to his appeal. He was quite tall, about six-four or five, he was muscular, but not as huge as a certain oversized cartoon character who sounded suspiciously like Elvis Presley. His dark hair curled at the nape of his neck. His amber eyes were his most arresting feature, they seemed to be tinted with yellow and copper. But, boy oh boy, Raina could see herself drowning in them!

He was hot.

He was perfect.

He rivaled a magazine’s sexist man alive cover.

He’s so not going to be into me.

“Don’t forget to breathe, Raina,” she chided herself. Then she repeated mentally, “He’s only a man. He’s only a man.” She tried to relax.

Shit. Who am I fooling? All my flaws are as plain as day. Big boobs, broad hips, sagging butt, definitely not a pretty picture. What the hell am I doing here? Why, oh why, did I let Jayce talk me into doing this? Wait just one damn minute! I have spent the last year creating a new me. I am beautiful, I am confident…I am so screwed… Stop it Raina. No more negative thinking. He will like you, Jayce promised. Plaster on a smile and breathe. She rose from her seat and extended her hand. “You must be Raina.” Jordan clasped her hand in his, raised it to his lips and dropped a light, feathery kiss on it. He waited for Raina to sit back down before he took his seat.

Character Interview – Teresa Gallagher – Incognito by Morgan K. Wyatt – Giveaway

Welcome, today we are speaking with Teresa Gallagher, the heroine in Incognito by Morgan K Wyatt.

Tell us a little about yourself.

There’s not too much to tell. I was born in Jefferson. My brother and his family live here. I teach at the local high school and an evening class at Jefferson College.

News is some unusual happenings at Jefferson College. Care to elaborate?

(She looks startled.) Uhm, I guess it depends on what you consider unusual. They just installed an energy drink machine in the commons. I don’t think that’s what you’re hinting at. There are rumors that Jefferson College is hemorrhaging money, which might explain the exotic stranger who showed up in my writing class.

A stranger sounds interesting. What can you tell me about him?

(Her eyes take on a far off look and she smiles.) He certainly isn’t from around here. Loretta and Orleana, two single teachers at the high school, know every single man within the thirty-mile radius. They’d definitely mention Marcus with his gorgeous skin tone and confident swagger. If only to tell me they had dibs on him. One night, he shows up in my writing class, gives me a fake name, slouches down in a desk and proceeds to watch me. I could feel his eyes on me even when my back was turned.

I can understand why that would upset you. Did you say anything to him about his behavior?

I didn’t say it upset me. I said I could feel his eyes like fingers touching me. After class, I did try to talk to him about his assignment, but it seemed like he was trying to flirt with me. I must be mistaken the effect of too many romance novels. (She laughs covering her mouth with her hand.)

What are you going to do to discourage this type of inappropriate behavior?

Do? (She gestures to her pulled back hair and conservative clothing.) Look at me I’ve already done it. At the advanced age of thirty-six, I do not look like any man’s idea of a hot time.

I would have to disagree. You are a beautiful woman. I happen to know there is a certain man who has his eyes on you.

You know someone. Really? I hope it isn’t that dentist in Frankfort. Who thinks he’s the reincarnation of James Dean. I never gave him my real name so he couldn’t follow up for a second date. Could you tell me who it is? Lately, I think I have better odds of death by stampeding ferrets than meeting an interesting man.

What about the new guy in your evening class?

Now, you’re just being cruel. He has no interest in me. Just a city boy out to fluster the teacher, that’s all. (She pushes her shoulders back and her chin goes up.) He will have no effect on me. None, not at all. I don’t even notice him in my classroom, in the back row, next to the wall with windows.

It sounds like you’re unaware of old what’s his name.

It’s Marcus Anton. There’s a fake name if I ever heard one. I don’t even hear him walk in the room despite the fact he’s wearing motorcycle boots. At first, I thought another one who thinks he’s James Dean, but somehow the boots suit him. Just like his longish curls complement his cheekbones. As I said before I never even notice him.

It sounds like you noticed a great deal for a woman not noticing him. What would you do if he asked you out?

It wouldn’t matter Jefferson College faculty is not allowed to fraternize with students. (She cocks her head and a sly look crosses her face.) Technically, he isn’t a student because he is only auditing the class. (Her look returns to the no nonsense teacher look. She folds her hands primly in her lap.) I don’t have to worry he won’t ask.

Incognito:

Teresa Gallagher did not expect to become an old maid school teacher at the great age of thirty-six, but she does teach and is single. She also didn’t expect a gorgeous stranger to slip into her university writing class. The man claims a historical name as his own and an interest in writing. She has high school students who lie better.

Marcus Aronson specializes in small colleges with problems. His company usually gobbles up the college, lays off people and takes over administration. Jefferson is his latest project. He slips into a classroom to check out if a favorite professor might be the embezzler. What he finds instead is a passionate woman hiding behind a button up exterior. Someone needs to release Teresa from her inhibitions and that someone would be him. There were rules about mixing business and pleasure. Rules he intended to break.

Excerpt:

Marcus decided her expression wasn’t overly welcoming. Had he read the kiss wrong or was the problem that he shouldn’t know where she lived? Only a nosy person or someone with access to personnel records would know that. Still, her cutoff shorts were hot. What did that shirt say? He read the words aloud until she covered it with her hands. “Straight men…” Wait, what did she cover up?

He walked closer until they were nose to nose. The coconut-scented suntan oil teased his nostrils. Visions of tropical nights spent under a full moon, rolling around with Teresa’s long legs wrapped around him filled his mind’s eye. Speaking of legs, he glanced down to the limbs in question. Just as long and as magnificent as he imagined them that made it a double shame to cover them up. Still, he knew teen boys needed little to start erotic fantasies about their teachers. Why give them more fodder?

Her lips held onto the circle of surprise, which made him think of other ways he could shock those delectable lips. The slight hush of the pool filter, children playing in the distance, plus a tinny muffled dog barking registered in a corner of his mind. Two feminine hands held tightly under her breasts owned the majority of his attention. Whatever word she might be trying to hide with her hands did not quite cover the arrow pointing downward to an interesting zone.

“My sister-in-law’s a jokester. The shirt is a souvenir from her San Francisco trip.” She said the words breathlessly, while staring up in his eyes.

Placing his larger hands over hers, he deliberately wrapped his fingers around hers with the intention of lifting her hands off the obvious inappropriate word. What he didn’t count on was her determination to keep the word covered or their precarious perch at the edge of the pool.

“C’mon,” he cajoled when she pressed her hands even tighter to her midriff as she might be attempting CPR on herself.

She shook her head. “Nope, I’d rather be shirtless than have you read my humiliating shirt.”

Shirtless? Oh yes, he could go for that. “Sounds good to me.” His hands dove to the bottom of her shirt to help her remove it. A forceful push sent him wind-milling into the pool, clothes, shoes, sunglasses, and damn it, cell phone, and all.

She stood peering into the pool, her body quivering with suppressed laughter. He fished out his cellphone laid it on the edge of the pool. Her expression told him she couldn’t believe her eyes as he pulled out his wallet, his keys, and a waterlogged package of mints. He reached under the water, pulled off one, then another topsider and flung it onto the cement.

“What are you doing?” She stared at the growing pile.

He smiled at her very interested mien. The woman ate him up with her eyes. Good. He unbuttoned the two buttons on his polo and pulled it over his head. He wrung out his wet shirt, twirled it over his head like a stripper, and pitched in her direction, hitting her with a satisfying smack.

“Looks like someone invited me in for a swim.”

Her mouth opened and closed with no words coming out.

“Unfortunately, I forgot my suit so I have to improvise.” He slipped the belt from his khakis and let it float on top of the water like some mythical serpent. Teresa’s eyes followed as if it were Nessie. To think he took time considering what would be the right thing to wear only to end up drenched. Business casual did not serve him well.

Her eyes stayed glued to him as he reached for his waistband. “I’ll be right back,” she announced as she darted to the patio door. “Don’t go anywhere.”

Author’s Bio:

Morgan recently retired from teaching special needs students to write fulltime, instead of in the wee hours of the night. With the help of her helpful husband and loyal hound, she creates characters who often grab plot lines and run with them. As for flying, she prefers the airlines now.

New Release – Revenge, Sex and Other Ways to Spice Up Life by Kellie Kamryn

Revenge, Sex and Other Ways to Spice Up Life

A man on a mission, a woman out for revenge, and a meddling monkey—life doesn’t get any more interesting than this.

Max Harder broke Callie’s heart when he ended their relationship. Not believing he was man enough for her, he focused on straightening out his life.

Self-esteem now intact, it’s time to win back the woman he can’t get out of his mind.

Callie Wiebe never understood why Max claimed to love her then said he “couldn’t do it anymore.” Unable to move on after the break up, she curses her foolish heart for still loving him. The night he calls to talk, she’s determined to teach him a sexy lesson.

However, there are consequences to spicing up your love life. Callie’s passionate plan of revenge goes awry, and when Max’s pet capuchin throws a “monkey wrench” into the works by falling ill, these lovers end up with far more than they bargained for.

Excerpt:

Callie stopped by the trunk of the car and tugged him close until their bodies touched. “It hurt when you broke it off.”

“I know. It hurt me too.” His fingertips trailed over her cheek. “Please understand, I had to work on me, be the man I thought you deserved. It doesn’t matter if you don’t get it but it’s how I felt.”

She shook her head, keeping eye contact. “In a way, I do get it, and it’s sweet, stupid, honorable, pigheaded, and wonderful…” Her voice trailed off on a sigh, and she cupped his face in her hands. “I could never forget about you, you know. I tried to move on, but inside, I felt like we weren’t finished.”

“I felt that way too.” He brushed a soft kiss across her lips. “I prayed every day you wouldn’t move on before I could accomplish what I set out to do.”

“Which was?”

“Be more self-sufficient. Have my own place, hold down a better job. I wanted to show you I could take care of myself, so I could take care of you.”

Her insides melted into a puddle of goo. “You big dumbass,” she mumbled against his lips. “Like I told you before, I can take care of myself. I have my own place, I make my own money. All I wanted was to be with you, to have you love me.”

“I do love you,” he admitted. “But I’m the man. I want to take care of my woman. I need to know I can. Please forgive me for hurting you.”

It began to rain a harder, soaking their clothes until the material stuck to their skin. Callie gripped Max’s face a little tighter and pressed her lips to his. Their mouths meshed, tongues tangling, heating them from the inside out.

Max held her tight as the rain fell. Her fingers threaded into the wet hair at his nape. He pressed her against the trunk, lifting her until her ass settled on the vehicle. His hard-on pulsed with urgency against her belly.

Callie wrapped her legs around his waist, desire unfurling in her abdomen like a winged beast ready to take flight.

“I want to make love to you, Cal,” he whispered.

“Then let’s go back to your place,” she replied.

New Release – Morgan K. Wyatt’s Incognito

Incognito

Sarah Cass – Dominion Falls Series

Sarah Cass is my special guest today. Here is an opportunity for you to learn about her Dominion Falls series and the many other books she’s working on. And I bet you’d never guess what most people don’t know about this talented author. So, let’s get started.

Sarah, it’s a pleasure having you here today. Can you tell us how you decided to become an author?

I’m happy to be here, Roxy. I always like traveling around the interwebs and meeting new people.

The decision to become an author, for me, happened years ago, back before ebooks were a thing. I had left the work force to become a stay at home mom to my two little girls. I had always enjoyed writing and I role-played and wrote some fanfic. I loved coming up with some crazy ideas and rolling with them. One day I wrote a story that someone read and said I should try to get published.

At that time I thought it was a crazy, insane dream I’d never accomplish, but I’d sure have fun trying. Today, I’m happy to say I’m multi-published and have books scheduled at least through 2013, and am waiting on word for a series to be released in 2014.

What are some things most people don’t know about you?

Well, most people know I have podophobia. What they don’t realize is that I won’t even go to your blog for a week if you have a post or an ad with feet on it. There’s a book I wanted to read based on the blurb, but the cover showed a foot so I couldn’t even hold the book in my hands. It’s weird and stupid, and my husband enjoys teasing me by taunting me with his foot…but it’s real.

I guess you were looking beyond the weird. So how about this? I’m a dancer, a singer, a knitter, a sewer, and a photographer. I enjoy all things creative. But, I’m also aces at math and science. Both sides of my brain love to get a workout.

Are there any books you’re currently reading?

Oh my, yes. I just finished re-reading the Harry Potter series (really enjoyed it far more the second time around, not sure why. First time I was “eh”). I am thoroughly entranced by Kerrianne Coombes Demon Tales series. Unfortunately, I broke my Kindle so book 4 will have to wait until I can fix/replace it. In the meantime I’ve been reading Incarnation by Emma Cornwall and The Madman’s Daughter by Megan Shepherd.

What message(s) you wish to convey in your books?

My characters, like people, are deeply flawed. They will piss you off, they’ll make you laugh, they’ll make you cry, but they also always grow and change. They learn from their mistakes. My fantasy worlds aren’t perfect, people aren’t shiny, they are ugly and gritty and sometimes you want to smack them. That doesn’t mean you don’t still want to see them learn and grow and how having love in their life changes them, even as it challenges them.

No one is perfect.

No love is perfect.

But life is always interesting.

If, for one moment in time, you were able to switch places with a character from one of your books, who would it be? Why?

For just one moment in time? Holy cow, that’s a tough one. I think that would have to be Jane Doe…but I can’t tell you what moment because it’ll ruin the surprise. :D

At the risk of showing favoritism, who has been your favorite hero/heroine to write?

I almost always answer this with Jane or Cole from my Dominion Falls series…but honestly? Every single person I’ve written has been amazing in their own way. Each so different, I just can’t choose.

Finish this sentence: I want to be remembered as…

The Queen of Trauma Drama.

Yup, seriously. That’s been my nickname since way back when I still RPG’d. I’m telling you, me & the crazy-ass plots? We’re besties. I really put my characters through hell. :D

Tell us about your latest release?

Derailed is Book 2 in the Dominion Falls series. My amnesiac Jane Doe’s forgotten past is catching up with her. Book 2 is full of chaos and tragedy and ends with a…

Ooh, I almost told you. You’ll have to read to find out ;)

Oh, but I can tell you Jane finally stops going by Jane Doe in this story…and the name she chooses is quite significant. ;)

If this story was made into a movie, who would you cast as the hero and heroine?

Oh, that’s easy, peasy. I already have my dream cast up on my pinterest board.

For Jane Doe – Dominique McElligott

For Cole – Jasen Wade (seriously, yum)

Here’s my pinterest board so you can see my dream cast: http://bit.ly/15eOGRo

So you’ve finished this story. What can readers expect from you next? When?

Book 3 (Dark Territory) in the Dominion Falls series will be out in September. That will wrap up the original trilogy. I have books 4 & 5 waiting for rewrites and submission, but I’m putting those off until 2014 to work on other worlds, and because there’s a year between books 3 & 4 anyhow ;)

Beyond that…in December my first contemporary romance will be released. It’s a holiday story called Santa, Maybe. I’ve turned that into a series as well, all in the same town, all on holidays, and I’m waiting on word as to whether those will be contracted too.

Also, I have several stories in the works. I’m working hot and heavy on a paranormal series right now, but I also have a couple UF and a steampunk and a historical western paranormal in the works.

In other words, I’m keeping busy ;)

Now, on to your latest release, Derailed.

Blurb:

The sins of a past she can’t remember could destroy a present she’ll never forget.

The crimes of her forgotten past threaten the very life Jane Doe has learned to cherish.

Jane is out of time. With a warrant on her head, a maniac out for her blood, and a secret baby on the way, something has to give.

Without Cole Mitchell’s help to find the answers, there may be no hope left.

Cole has nowhere left to hide. He unwittingly let Jane into his heart, and is ready to share the secret of his dark past.

Fate has a way of playing its hand, and tragedy strikes. With the world crumbling around them, it’s easy to lose faith. If they can’t forgive past sins, they have no hope for the future.

Because the noose waits for no man or woman.

Excerpt:

“Jane.”

She yelped when he grabbed her wrists and yanked her close. Like a startled deer, she froze in place. Then a small gasp of air and she sagged. “I’m sorry. My head. It’s racing. I don’t know what to think.”

“First off, stop worryin’ about Graham. He ain’t sendin’ no telegram.”

“You don’t know that.”

“Sure I do. After Michael broke his nose, he shut up real fast.” Cole laughed when her jaw dropped. When the amusement started to light up her features, it warmed him all the way to his toes. “Yeah. Graham was running his mouth, and Michael beat on him. He got knocked out cold.”

“Michael?” Through her tears, a laugh escaped. “He’s half Graham’s size. Goodness, he’s barely bigger than I am. How did he do that?”

“He said something about five brothers and a mean older sister.”

She shook her head with a sigh. “That is no guarantee, Cole. He could just be biding his time until he has something to get me on. He doesn’t care for me.”

“Let me worry about Graham.” He tugged her close, shoving the papers from his lap. Once she was settled there, he smirked. “Now ya got some stuff here that you gotta go through, and it’s all reading. That should excite ya.”

“You know what, Cole? I’m not excited. The more I learn about myself, the more trouble I seem to be in. I really am at a point where I don’t care anymore.”

“That don’t sound like the Jane I know.”

She snorted. “No one knows me. Not even me.”

“Bull.”

“I’m not in the mood for arguing with you.”

“But arguin’ is what we do second best.”

“Cole.”

He grinned at the small twitch he saw at the corner of her mouth. “And much as I’d love to remind ya what we do best…I don’t think you could handle it right now.”

“Please.”

“Besides, if we got ourselves hurt again because of our…best…Daisy would be awful mad.” He chuckled when she turned away as far as she could to hide her smile. “But that ain’t ever stopped me before.”

She let out a small squeal when his hand slipped under her skirt and along her thigh. Swatting at his hand, she playfully beat at his chest when he leaned in to capture her lips.

Her lips were warm and inviting. He hadn’t realized how much he’d missed her touch until she was there. He pulled her close and traced the seam of her lips with his tongue. She opened up to him so fast it took his breath away, and he shifted to lay her down on the floor.

She planted her hands on his chest and pushed him back. “Wait.”
