Valentine’s Day — What’s the Big Deal about it?

The-best-beautifulValentine’s Day is here. Take a look around you. You can’t miss it–not unless you decide to take a trip to the Mars. Marketers go to town trying to sell everything from heart shaped chocolates and flowers to cell phones and pricey romantic dinners for you and your Valentine. Facebook is awash with love messages, with selfies of cootchie-cooing couples and more. Self-proclaimed Agony Aunts and Love Gurus are all over on multiple channels, across multiple media, dispensing wisdom about love, ro...

Jan Scarbrough — Researching a book can be so much fun!

Kentucky Blue Bloods 200-300It gives me great pleasure to showcase my author friend Jan Scarborough’s romance novel Kentucky Blue Bloods. This is the 8th book in her Bluegrass Reunion Series.

Jan is an avid horseback rider and not surprisingly her love for horses finds an echo in her books too. A great opportunity to do research on something you love, right?

Says Jan: “For my birthday gift to myself, I booked a horse farm tour in the Kentucky bluegrass with Unbridled Horse Tours. I reasoned I needed to do first-hand resea...

Immaan Dharam – A Fun Flashback to the 1970s

aditebanerjie:

Missy Pugh is a Bollywood film buff and writes a wonderful review of my father, the late Desh Mukerji’s film Immaan Dharam. Hope you all enjoy this post and if you have seen the film, would love to know your thoughts as well…. Enjoy!

2014 Wrap-Up Write-Up

It’s a bone chilling 9 degrees C in Delhi as I write this. Looking out into my tiny lawn from my writing desk, everything is shrouded in a haze and I can virtually “see” the cold! Even my thirteen-going-on-three-year-old puppy Veeroo hates to venture out in this weather! He loves to be snug as a bug, just like the puppy in the picture!! :D

There is something special about a year-end. If it’s been not a particularly good year, you’re glad to leave it...

The Path to Publishing #PlotWriMo Tour and Giveaway

Writing a book (or a screenplay) is not for the faint of heart. Don’t get me wrong–I’m not saying that only a few people have the talent to write. Everyone has stories to tell. But story telling is more than the sum of talent, inspiration, dedication and craft. When I first started down the road of writing a screenplay, it was as if I’d set forth on a journey without a map, car, or even the resources needed to take me from Point A to B, never mind my destination. That’s when I started looking...

With this post I have completed a century of blog posts. Seems like a significant milestone in my blogging journey. And what a wonderful ride it’s been.

Three years ago when I started this blog, I’d often wonder if my interest in the blog would wane after the initial enthusiasm. Would I be able to sustain it week after week, month after month, year after year?

And here I am, 100-posts and some 88-pages (a double celebration, indeed, since the...

“Writing and Medicine are inextricably linked”: Author Reet Singh

banner 1 Everywhere you turn you see people giving up their professions to take up writing. Engineer-turned-authors and corporate honchos with author credentials are quite common these days. But rarely does one come across a writer who is a practising doctor by day and a writer by night. Reet Singh, Harlequin Mills & Boon author is one such writer. I invited Reet to do a guest post on what she loves/hates most about her two jobs…Over to Reet!

A doctor by day and a writer by night — what do you love and...
