Adite Banerjie discovered the wonderful world of books at an early age which sparked her interest in writing. After a fulfilling and exciting career as a business journalist she turned her attention to fiction.

Three of her romance novels have been published by Harlequin/Harper Collins India. In 2018 she embarked on her indie journey as an author-publisher.

She also writes screenplays. 7 Lives, a short film she wrote on organ donation is currently streaming on Amazon Prime (US, UK). In 2017 one of her scripts made it to the semi-finals of the prestigious Academy Nicholl Fellowships. She is currently writing the script for a culture and cuisine show to be hosted my master chef Sanjeev Kapoor.

Thanks for asking. My father was a terrific storyteller and he has always inspired me to write. I started off my fiction adventure by writing screenplays -- and that too happened because my dad worked in the movie industry in India. From screenplays to writing novels was another huge leap. But I'm loving it! :) (less)

So I turned to screenwriting and writing books. They both have their own sets of challenges and are very different forms of fiction writing. They are also very creatively fulfilling and would love to do more of both. (less)

Shelly - a 30 minute read - Out Now!

Most of my stories are feel good love stories. This time I have chosen to write something a little sinister, a little dark. It's an ultra-short love story titled Shelly: A Promise is Forever.

A couple of years ago, as part of a screenwriting challenge--where one is given a few prompts to come up with a short script--I had written this story. It has stayed with me and when I told a friend about thi Read more of this blog post »

“Traffickers will stop when men stop buying women”
Corban Addison, A Walk Across the Sun

Jhumpa Lahiri
“The first sentence of a book is a handshake, perhaps an embrace. Style and personality are irrelevant. They can be formal or casual. They can be tall or short or fat or thin. They can obey the rules or break them. But they need to contain a charge. A live current, which shocks and illuminates.”
Jhumpa Lahiri

Caitlin Moran
“We need to reclaim the word 'feminism'. We need the word 'feminism' back real bad. When statistics come in saying that only 29% of American women would describe themselves as feminist - and only 42% of British women - I used to think, What do you think feminism IS, ladies? What part of 'liberation for women' is not for you? Is it freedom to vote? The right not to be owned by the man you marry? The campaign for equal pay? 'Vogue' by Madonna? Jeans? Did all that good shit GET ON YOUR NERVES? Or were you just DRUNK AT THE TIME OF THE SURVEY?”
Caitlin Moran, How to Be a Woman

Caitlin Moran
“You can tell whether some misogynistic societal pressure is being exerted on women by calmly enquiring, ‘And are the men doing this, as well?’ If they aren’t, chances are you’re dealing with what we strident feminists refer to as ‘some total fucking bullshit’.”
Caitlin Moran, How to Be a Woman

Erica Jong
“Do you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything it's cracked up to be. That's why people are so cynical about it. It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don't risk anything, you risk even more.”
Erica Jong, Fear of Flying

Ranga May your days be filled with blessings
Like the sun that lights the sky,
And may you always have the courage
To spread your wings and fly.

May your troubles be less
Your blessings be more
And nothing but happiness
Come through your door.

Blue be the sky above you
Soft be the road below you,
Affection be the breeze around you
I pray all the happiness surround you.

May love always ease your pain
And kindness be all you know
May you never have a reason to complain
And the sun follows you wherever you go.

May God give you the lasting reward
For the beauty of your heart and soul,
Your thoughts and views speak for you
In this world you have a distinct role.

Arjun Rawat Dear Book-lover,

I viewed your profile and noticed you a good book-reader and penned various books. I am too a writer and recently penned a new fiction named MUGGER. It is focused on corruption, criminalization of politics and various others problems pertaining to society. Its Hindi version too awarded by NHRC for safeguarding human rights. I would appreciate if you read my fiction and apprise me about its deficiencies so that I can make further improvement in my writing. MUGGER is available on paper-back in :- Flipkart, Infibeam, Crossword, uRead, Power-publishers etc. MUGGER will soon be available on e-book through orders.india@partridgepublishing.com.
Regards.
