Days are getting shorter, time moving quicker it seems. Promise me you won’t waste opportunities to be kind, to show the people you love That you love them, to give of yourself until you’re so emptied out, all you feel is full.
.
Don’t let your eyes close
without your lips meeting mine.
Lean back into me.

Will this be the death
Of poetry
The slow end of
Sweeping symphonies
Of word, of sound?
What will be written
when we forget what it is
to make sentences swell
and dance across a page,
what when we know only
cartoon image
in miniature, when we
communicate
in film clip and repeating
motion?
Will we weep at the passing of
poetry, will we notice it at all?
Though I call out often a distaste
for the noise and din of this place,
I am terrified
of a silent future,
thumb taps on glass
and the blue light glow illuminating
some lonely face.

I am an autumn man, through and through. Built for this season, desperate for it all year long. I am melancholy and nostalgia and some deep ennui. What are you?
.
The slow turn from green,
Autumn brings death to Summer.
Red like blood in leaf.

They’ll try to cut you down, tell you you’re not made of magic stuff, they’ll say you’re not worth growing. Damn the rest, grow despite it, tower above and laugh from such heights.
.
Grow and don’t look down,
reach above where you can see.
Tower above fear.

Typewriter Series #3048 by Tyler Knott Gregson
A year of what you called
coincidence,
chance encounters I planned
and planned again.
Where you were
was where I had to be.
You found yourself
in some far off, off in some sliver
of wild, some place of peace
in the shadow of tree
and peak. I followed,
listened to your song
as it pointed me back
home.
I found myself
in all you found in me,
called myself warm
as we held each other
through the freeze.
In the shadow of firework
and frost, I followed,
listened to those words
as we spoke them for
the first time.
I will follow,
wherever you may lead,
I will listen,
and I will call you
home.

Some are mountains, some are sea. Some are rock solid and unwavering, strength and patience. Some are liquid in their flowing, churning, dark in their depths. She is made of mountains, I of sea, but there is grace in both.
.
Soft as a whisper
you float over the surface
of the ground you walk.
