Typewriter Series #3045 by Tyler Knott Gregson
Accident, and I know this,
youthful curiosity
and no bite inhibition,
dogs don’t know,
not that young at least.
Feathers scattered
and the last frantic breaths
of a creature I couldn’t
believe
weighed so little.
Disappeared into tears
after her heart stopped,
couldn’t help but
crumble.
I just don’t think I can handle
any more death
this year.

Almost five years ago, I was asked something that I still consider the biggest honor of my life, to help our LGBTQIA friends start a family. To give them the chance that they deserve, at choosing their own path into parenthood. Today, Elliot is 4 years old, and all I feel every time I see him, is that same honor. He has turned into, because of his absolutely amazing Moms, a wonderful little dude that is so filled with wonder and life. He is hilarious, he is kind, he is curious, and he is infinitely loving. I think about him and his perfect mothers today, and I worry about the future with RBG gone and so many rights potentially up for grabs. I worry about what this could mean on his birthdays to come, and I realize how much more Fight there is left, how hard we have to work to guarantee that no rights become questioned, for LGBTQIA, for anyone. Happy Birthday Elliot, I hope you know you’ve an army of love behind you. Thank you, for you. (at Helena, Montana)

What a legend, what an absolute force of nature. What a champion, what a superhero, what an inspiration. So much to learn from this woman, so much fight to continue with. Thank you for your bravery.

Defend and protect,
stand up when it is scary,
let them hear your love.

Of all times of day, of all shades of light, I am blue hour and I am night. Some are born for sunshine and blue sky, I am made for cloud and gloaming.
.
Blue hour and gloaming,
I find home in the shadows.
I will seek the night.

It will be explosion
and flash
when I go, I know this
because some hold darkness
and transform it
to coruscation,
to glimmer.
I like tree to our
exhalations,
take your shadow
and absorb,
I give it back like
oxygen,
and ask for you
to come closer
and hold me
as I
disintegrate
into light.

With all the world struggling and tired, what else to soothe our sadness but to look to the birds. Oh were I a winged thing.
.
Bird flutter and land,
wait for the light to paint you.
Wait for me to see.
