"Last light of Summer,
the burning of a season.
I touch your fingers."

I touch your fingers.”

We are coming to a point, truth told we’ve long sailed beyond...

We are coming to a point, truth told we’ve long sailed beyond it, where we must shout, with our voices, with our votes, with our refusal to sit quiet for more injustice. We must begin the long slow road to repairing the damages done, over the last 4 years, over the history of this place. We must fight, like warrior poets long since gone, we must burn ourselves to ash in the pursuit of what is right.
.
Stand and shout it out,
fight against injustices,
let your voice be heard.

I know 2020 has been a dumpster fire of a year, I know it has been more than we ever thought we could handle. I remember when it wasn’t this, I remember when there was something that resembled stillness. Do you?
Typewriter Series #3041 by Tyler Knott Gregson
Remember when your hands weren’t tired,
weren’t cracked like desert floor?
Remember when you woke fresh,
remember when your lungs were full,
remember arms and how they wrapped
around you?
Amnesia like a curtain pulled,
privacy screen for all this
forgetting,
remember when we were not
afraid?
Half a year I’ve not left this state,
wrapped in the borders
like straightjacket, remember when
our days weren’t recycled,
remember peace, and how it
grew when it was shared?
Will I see you on the other side
of this? Will I remember you
if I do?

Please show me to the light. Please carry me home.

You will lead me there,
across the darkest waters.
I follow your light.

I know sorrow, know weight,
I could march over flame
if I saw you shining
beyond the heat.
I know heartbreak,
know the bending of a soul,
I have conquered myself
ten thousand times.
Still,
I am undone, and often,
by all I cannot fix,
what use are these hands
if they cannot hold onto
love?

These keep coming, I cannot help myself. I am full of poetry and I leak.
.
Swore this was over,
these testaments to a life,
all these simple words.
