Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life

“It is not the world that is the problem,” Devorah said, “but our thinking about the world.” Changing General Barak’s mind, made victory over the better armed Canaanites possible for the outnumbered Hebrews. Read about how Devorah did it; and learn that you can do it, too.

Turn Aside

“Tonight is the first night of Passover,” Devorah said, “The Bible says that Moses ‘turned aside’ and went up the mountain to see the wonder of the bush that burned but was not consumed. “What does that mean to us in our time?

“It means that the miracles of the power we call ‘God’ are all around us, constantly available to inspire and motivate us, but we must ‘turn aside,’ we must cease our busyness and open ourselves to experience them.”

Too, Good To Be True?

“Here’s another radical post,” Devorah said, “because it says, as did the other radical posts, that I’m not myself – the thing I think I am, but mySelf – something too, good to be true, and that the world is an illusion designed by the ego to keep the decision maker in my mind too, busy to realize it’s mistake and choose mySelf instead of myself.

“Thus, because the world was created from my projected thought that I murdered the Zeus God to take his place and he will come roaring back and take his revenge on me, as long as I believe I’m in this world, I must believe the world is hostile. The unconscious fear, anxiety and unease I feel about this, not only reinforces myself and its illusion of reality, but proves to my decision maker that mySelf is indeed too, good to be true and I can’t be part of God, because God is invulnerable, feels no fear, has no anxiety nor unease. Because ideas leave not their source, my decision maker still has the ability to give all the hostility, fear, anxiety and unease to mySelf and accept the truth that I and you, everything and everyone, when seen with mySelf, are indeed too, good to be true!”

Empty hands, open hearts and minds

“This is difficult to believe,” Devorah said. “And it’s similar to the radical shift in belief and perspective I shared a few posts ago. But Heaven itself is reached with empty hands and open minds, which come with nothing to find everything. This means holding everything lightly even our most sacred laws, cherished beliefs and ideals.

“To do violence in God’s name and in the name of your most cherished beliefs and ideals is not only hypocritical and absurd, it is to do violence not only to those cherished ideals, but to ourselves and our reality as one with the power we call ‘God.’ God does not require us to defend him or worship him in certain arcane ways. God is not Zeus. God is an invisible power within us, reflected in our desire for love, compassion, peace, mercy, inclusion and joy.

“The fear of God is in truth the fear of ourselves and our constant misuse of the power we call ‘God.’ Heaven itself is real and within each of us right now, even within the sinners, perverts and evil-doers, and is reached by releasing the interferences to Its presence within us, judging not, and remembering Its benign and loving reality. Release the ego thought system you clutch so tightly and your empty hands become free to receive Heaven’s gifts.”

Apply When Tempted to Deny

“Apply, when tempted to deny!” Devorah said, grinning at her neat turn of phrase. “When tempted to see yourself as a victim of something or someone outside you, believing your change of mood is due to anything other than the power of your mind, turn within and claim the power of your mind and with it the oneness with the power we call ‘God’. When tempted to hold a grievance, feel victimized or blame (even yourself), not only do you deny your mind’s power to upset you, you also deny its power to make you whole and peaceful. The mind’s power is returned to you when you remember to think: ‘I loose the world from all I thought it was, and choose my own reality instead….’ Apply when tempted to deny!”

An Adventure, Not a Problem

Devorah gestured around her, to the wounded warriors, bare fields, decrepit tents and lean-tos. “Is this the one power we call ‘God’s’ promise to us? No, it is not. It is the result of our misuse of the one power. It needn’t be this way! What if we release all this and instead claim the innate idealism and profound optimism that is our birthright? What if life is not a problem to be solved, but an amazing adventure of revealing the beauty, wonder and wholeness we truly are?”

The Law of Attraction

Devorah said, “A man in the future, Wayne Dyer, will say something worth remembering: ‘Abundance is not something we acquire. It is something we tune in to.’” Devorah continued, “the only reason we are limited is that we do not allow the power we call ‘God’ within each of us to flow more completely.

Another idea from the future, but a wrong idea, is the concept of ‘attraction.’ The Law of Attraction suggests we are trying to bring something into our lives that we lack and don’t already have. This ‘law’ is about duality and separation. It is a false law. We are not separate from our good. We are one with it. Rather than focusing on attracting, focus on allowing – allowing the unlimited good that you are to express.”
