Specialness
“Whenever we feel special,” Devorah said, “make judgments or are deeply engaged in anything of the ego (the world: pleasure or pain) we are saying we don’t want the peace, joy and compassion the power we call ‘God’ intends for us and have accepted the ego’s substitute instead.” Devorah sighed. “We project out the guilt we feel over this mistaken choice and thus harbor grievances and find fault with everyone and everything.” Devorah smiled. “The idea is not to judge ourselves for doing this, for projecting, but to be aware of what we have done and the tremendous cost to us for having done so. The world is a classroom. Let us use it, learn, be mindful and choose again, every time!”

Faith
“Because faith is so powerful, people talk about it as if it were only good, for the benefit of everyone and everything,” Devorah said. “We say ‘faith can move mountains’ and that’s true. However, in reality, faith is neutral and can be used for either good (inclusiveness – for the benefit of everyone and everything) or ill (exclusiveness – for the benefit of a few).
“We’re never without faith. We always have faith in something. What do you have faith in? The goodness of human nature? The wrath of God? The danger of big government? How’s that working for you, your family, the planet? Perhaps it’s time to shift and put your faith in something else. After all, if you always do what you always did, you’ll always get what you always got….”

Spiritual Technology
“Science and Spirit are not separate but two sides of the same coin,” Devorah said. “But our spiritual work, our spiritual technology, is primary. Everything manifests from It. I have seen a time in the future when a Science called ‘quantum physics’ will prove this by showing that the most important part of the world is invisible; outside the realm of everyday senses, ‘spiritual’, primary and the Source of everything, thus showing the importance of our doing our spiritual work first.”

Love
“Our spiritual practice is not about teaching the meaning of love,” Devorah said. “For that cannot be taught. Our practice is to remove the blocks to the awareness of love’s presence, which is your natural inheritance.”

Trillions of Dollars Down the Drain?
Devorah rocked gently in a trance. “I see a time of plenty thousands of years in the future when there will be enough money, technology and energy to feed, clothe and educate every human being. Yet,” she paused and sighed, “the people know not the plenty in their midst, nor see the opportunities in and around them but dwell instead on lack and limitation, fear, hate, blame and punishment.
“I see the richest country ever forsake the ideals that made it great and spend 3-4 trillion dollars on fruitless wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. I see this same country spend another 3 trillion dollars on financial bailouts.” Devorah shuddered and shook her head sadly. “Seven trillion dollars! An unimaginable sum! Could it not clothe and educate every human being in that country AND the world? Is it possible for these people, these Americans, to awaken and reclaim their ideals?”

Embrace the Present
“We think ceasing to struggle against what we don’t want means settling for it,” Devorah said. “Not so. When we make peace with the present, the future is free to unfold.” She smiled at her husband. “I found love as soon as I stopped looking.”
