TMTW: January 2023

What happened:
2023, here we go! After a chilled New Year's Day, we headed to the seaside on the bank holiday to get some sea air. I stopped doing resolutions properly a while ago, but my loose ambition is to make one seaside trip per month (more or less). We started off well with a roadtrip to Worthing, a cute little town.

The year that was: 2022

What happened:
Ah, 2022. Were we still pandemic-ing at the start of the year? Were we not? It all starts to blend into one! But one pandemic-related thing that did happen in 2022 was... I finally officially had COVID. I tested positive in July, right when we had a heatwave of 40.3°C. So that was fun with a fever.

TMTW: December 2022

What happened:
It was all about festive fun, and I had the Space NK advent calendar to remind me each day. We went to Hampton Court Palace, to their Festive Fayre, (and became members so there'll be lots of Historic Royal Palaces visits next year). Headed to Kingston to get new decorations for the tree. (New house, new theme!)

Books read in 2022

In 2022 I read 158 books, which I've rated over on Goodreads. My favourite books reads (ones I rated 5*) were The Beloved Girls by Harriet Evans, The Only Plane in the Sky: An Oral History of 9/11 by Garrett M. Graff, Magic Lessons by Alice Hoffman and Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister.

TMTW: November 2022

What happened:
I headed up to Leeds for a work trip, we celebrated Olly's birthday in London, then headed off to Mauritius to spend two weeks in the sunshine. Blog posts coming soon, but the highlights were this incredible view at Black River Gorges National Park and swimming in the sea with wild dolphins.

Holidaying in the Maldives

Late last October, we jetted off to the Maldives for some much-needed rest and relaxation. It's not someone where we would have normally chosen to go, but with various COVID travel restrictions still in place (and limited BA companion voucher destinations available to us), it's where we ended up!

A weekend in Whitstable

It has been forever since I went to Whitstable. My first (and only) trip was for my birthday, back in April 2013(!) - blog posts here and here - and I liked it, but I wasn't really wowed by it. (It seemed to take forever to get there on the train, which probably coloured things somewhat for me.)

Invisalign diary: Week one

After dithering for far too many years, I finally began my Invisalign treatment last week. And in the style of my Coronavirus diary, I've decided to share my journey. I won't do a diary every week, but I will keep you updated on how I'm getting on.

A city break in Bath

This year we headed to Bath for my birthday, somewhere I've wanted to go for years. Situated in Somerset, the city is named after the Roman baths there. Which we, of course, went to. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
