Elle Field writes new adult romantic comedies, and is the author of the Arielle Lockley series and Geli Voyante's Hot or Not. She grew up in Yorkshire, then moved to Scotland to study International Relations and Social Anthropology at the University of St Andrews.

Elle now lives in London with her boyfriend and their cat. She's a massive fan of sunshine, giraffes, The Killers, Audrey Hepburn movies, playing Scrabble, musicals and tea. Oh, and reading, of course!

I've been meaning to go back to Ireland for ages. Our friends live there - we went over for their wedding, back in 2013, and tied in Olly's 30th birthday with that trip - and ever since they had baby William last year, I've been meaning to sort out a trip. I finally did, and at gruelling o'clock we flew over to Dublin - the thinking being that we've have a full day to enjoy ourselves. It worked... Read more of this blog post »

“Of course, dear. I knew the moment I saw you that we are meant for great things. I’m never wrong about these things, you know!”
Elle Field, Kept

“I wasn’t always spoilt and superficial though. A fuzzy image of a girl travelling economy on budget airlines swirls in my mind but I quickly dismiss it since it doesn’t correlate with the woman I have become. Without one, there would never have been the other. Funny that.”
Elle Field, Kept

“It is important I act haughty and peeved like he has disturbed me from very important thoughts. These could be thoughts dreaming up a new million pound merger that will regenerate a local community and keep the shareholders happy. Significant thoughts. Haughty and peeved people get away with lots, you see. Successful people, the people who sit in First Class, act like this all the time. He should be harassing fare-dodging youngsters, too caught up with their BBMing to bother buying a ticket.
I try to forget that I used to enjoy dodging fares as a teen, and completely bypass that I’m actually as bad, if not worse, because I’m an adult who should know better. With my lax attitude to grown-up responsibilities, it’s unsurprising that I don’t.”

Erin Yup, mine is an 'Oli'! :)

message 2: by Elle

Elle Field Hehe, quite a few similarities then! And yes, my partner is an Oliver (though he prefers Olly). {^_^} Looking forward to seeing what you think is good to read - I always need more recommendations!

message 1: by Erin

Erin Hi Elle, please forgive the unprecedented friend add, I couldn't help myself! The 'compare books' function shows we have very similar reading taste, plus are both writers from London and from a cursory glance at your blog, am I right in saying we both have partners called Oliver?? It just seemed too good to be true :)
