TMTW: August 2023

What happened:
I still had COVID at the start of the month. Booo! But I recovered quickly and we were able to have people over for BBQs and what not. And I was perfectly fine by the time I went on a work trip to Leeds. Fun thing in the evening there was Electric Shuffle (I was rubbish). I finished Invisalign as well!

Holidaying in Mauritius

Last November we jetted off to Mauritius for two weeks in the sunshine, which at that time of year is in abundance in this Indian Ocean island. Located in the southern hemisphere, east of Madagascar, you're looking at around a 12-hour flight from London, followed by up to 90 minutes driving, tops, to get to your hotel.

Mauritius: Exploring the island

Mauritius is not a large island so you'll definitely be able to see a lot of the sights whilst you're there, if you can tear yourself away from the pool. We booked a driver to take us around the island - and here's what we did:

TMTW: June and July 2023

What happened:
A slightly quieter June but we still did quite a few exciting things, and a lot of it was centred around music. I also ended my first round of Invisalign and am now doing seven weeks of refinements, so I'll be finished soon. That's very pleasing. And mum finally came out of hospital. Definitely pleasing!

Mauritius: Crystal Dreams

Ah the Crystal Dreams trip. Everyone I know who has been to Mauritius in the past few years - which weirdly has been quite a lot of people - has done an Adrien's Dream excursion, of which Crystal Dreams is one of their offerings. And there's a reason for it.

TMTW: Spring 2023

What happened:
We welcomed Jasper and Juno to the family, two British Shorthair kittens that we adopted from the RSPCA in mid-March. Both are so, so loved and very much a part of our family. They've had a few big adventures already - house guests looking after them when we went to Sweden, neutering, and staying in the cattery!

Malta: Exploring the island

After our week on Gozo last summer, Olly and I headed back to Malta, where we stayed at the Hyatt Regency in the rather lively St Julian's for five nights. It's a bit of a party town but one that's conveniently located for visiting the capital, Valletta, and Mdina, the silent city. Which we did.

Malta: Where to eat in the St Julian's area

You are in for a treat if you're visiting St Julian's in Malta and you're a bit of a foodie. We did not have a bad meal whilst we were there. In fact, we had consistently excellent meals throughout our stay.

TMTW: February 2023

What happened:
A pretty quiet month. I did Monopoly Lifesized with my team at work (bonkers), mooched around Polesden Lacey (can't wait to see the gardens in summer), and we took a seaside jaunt to Bognor Regis.

Malta: Holidaying on Gozo

Last summer we headed to the Maltese archipelago to the island of Gozo to celebrate Olly's mum's 60th (then Olly and I headed to Malta, but more about that bit another time). Twenty minutes from Malta on the ferry, whilst Gozo is Malta's second biggest island in terms of size, only 31,000 people live there. Expect lots of villages, more than anything else.
