s4e3
In all seriousness, I’d be a little surprised if the title wasn’t some play on The Valley of Fear, because there are four Doyle novels and the first three seasons each have a title based on the other three. (A Study in Scarlet/The Sign of the Four/The Hound of the Baskervilles)
Also, Valley has:
a locked room/house mystery
secret tattoos
Moriarty looming in the background
a wedding ring that won’t come off
someone lost overboard
But I’m trying to figure out how this episode title could be so spoilery they can’t share…?
The episode title is The Valley of Queer
and that’s why they can’t announce it yet

Honestly, though. I really don’t think anything close to the Three Garridebs is spoilery enough that they wouldn’t share it. Casuals would just say oh that’s nice they’re doing that one, or maybe at the most oh that’s nice their brotastic bromance will be confirmed. We assume 3G will be in this series anyway (personally I think ep1). And we assume they’ll be together romantically this series anyway (ditto). It can’t be about spoiling for us via a hint in the title (the whole show is one big hint anyway and we’re already sure), it must be something pretty damn unambiguous even for casuals, if it’s about the boys’ love at all. And maybe it’s not about them. Maybe it’s something like The Evil Brother, or Mary Was Moriarty All Along, or Malevolent Molly or something.
Yeah. I agree. I think the fandom puts more stock in the idea of “Garridebs” than the writers or casuals do. There was some quote from Mark at one point saying we’ve already had John threatened (TGG) and other dangers to both of them so in a way they’ve DONE Garridebs. Also, my gut says that clip in the S4 teaser where Sherlock is horrified–that might be about seeing John dead or hurt, even if it ends up being MP and not real. He’s definitely in “Dying Detective” makeup there, and that’s E2.
Anyway, I think it’s likely something spoilery to the general audience, like you said. “The Three Holmes” (gives away there’s another brother) or something that would be too leading about a rug pull around Mary, Molly, Mycroft, Moriarty. Like “The Real Moriarty”. Or possible something definitely romantic like “The Prince’s Bridegroom”. All good suggestions I’ve seen on my dash.
Another option is that it’s obviously a twist on a case name that they think would be too leading/spoilery to the fans. You know how we take every little thing and run with it! They might just want to avoid starting any speculation in a specific direction.
So was the baby literally not mentioned AT ALL? Seriously? Did they just forget? LMAO.

A lot of plot in ep 3, if genuine, totally fits imo with all the personal stuff being *taken care of* in ep 1, so this lovely new couple can have adventures and be put in extreme danger together etc, etc. So, nope, not changing my prediction at all. : )
Exactly. The plot advances or resolves. The setlock scenes in the farm house/cottage at the end of shooting ep 3 were John and Sherlock. Perfect time to resolve issues. I wonder does John then go and finish the whole Mary mess?
This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I sort of expect the Mary=Moriarty or Moran to be revealed in S4xE3. I.E. how she ties in with Moriarty, that she was on a mission to stay close to John, her past, all of that. Which is unfortunate, because if that’s the case then most of S4 John is still with her and we may have to wait until S5 to get any serious movement ala “Mary is gone, John is back at Baker Street, John and Sherlock can now be together” front.
Alternatively, Mary and John could be estranged in E2 for another reason (like, oh, she shot Sherlock) and she returns in E3 for the who-actually-is-Mary reveal.
Steven Moffat on 4x03: "oh my god, you'll get a lot of of plot"
The only thing he gave away during “Back to the pilot” when talking about how the show is more character-driven than mystery-driven and how series 4 is going to be the same.
Except for 4x03….
he said about the episode where John and Sherlock are probably sitting in a cave for several hours…

OMG. I really wish they didn’t feel the need...
"John’s theme is close related to Sherlock… It’s inverted… The other half."

David Arnold, in a long talk about the themes of different characters.
(Sorry that it’s not a complete quote, I could write it all down fast enough and it sort of digressed and came back to the point.)
