To anyone saying that Martin Freeman looks ordinary and that he is technically not a beautiful man: May you be in a perpetual state of a lost sneeze.

Lovely pics.

This is Sherlock taking the gun from John’s pocket at Appledore - to shoot Magnussen. And John lets him…

omg yes I’ve been looking for this post, thank you! The intimacy in this! Guys, do you realize that they already showed us this same exact action, with this same exact shot, charged with unquestioningly implied erotic meaning?!?!

Like, are you kidding me, this show

I stg – This, this, is how tjlc works, people!

And they bring it up again in TAB!

“It’s a dangerous habit, to finger loaded revolvers in the pocket of one’s dressing gown”

Just in case the imagery of fondling guns in pockets wasn’t clear

Exactly ^^

What Cargo star Martin Freeman hates more than zombies

bestthingsdwelloutofsight:

“MARTIN Freeman came to Australia expecting to survive the zombie apocalypse. What the English star of Sherlock and The Hobbit didn’t count on was the mozzies.  “

“Rather than a zombie thriller, writer-director Ramke describes Cargo as parallel stories of “parental love — one between a father and his baby and the other between a young Aboriginal girl and her father”.That was a key distinction for Freeman — the leading man wouldn’t have travelled half way around the world for a zombie thriller.”

First look at Martin in the zombie movie. I can’t wait for this one! So much great room for emotions AND action. Love it.

THE  ONES  AND  THE  OTHER  ONES

ebaeschnbliah:

MUSINGS ABOUT EPISODES, LOCKED THINGS AND INFORMATION

———————————————————————————————————–

Comparing the episodes of S1-S3 of Sherlock BBC one cannot ignore the fact that the tenor of each middle episode differs slightly from the first and third ones. The fates of the side characters told in that middle stories are presented a bit more detailed and more emotional than that of people in the other episodes.

THE MIDDLE EPISODES

———————————————————————————————————–

SERIES ONE - EPISODE TWO:   THE BLIND BANKER

image

Soo Lin Yao and Zhi Zhu - siblings, orphans. A brother working for a big organisation. A sister that broke with him and the organisation five years ago. Soo Lin tries to build a new life on her own. Hoping her brother and the organisation will forget her eventually. But Zhi Zhu comes looking for her. He asks his sister to help him find something that was stolen. Soo Lin turns him down and the brohter feels betrayed by her. He kills her.

Is this sad story a foreshadowing of a future drama between two other siblings?

image

SERIES TWO - EPISODE TWO:   THE HOUNDS OF BASKERVILLE

image

Henry Knight is a man struggling with a horrible trauma. He had already lost his mother. Then at the age of seven he had to witness the murder of his father and became an orphan. The little boy couldn’t cope with the horrible experience and supressed all memory of it. After twenty years haunted by fears and nightmares he desides to finally face his past. It turns out that the person responsible for the murder of Henry’s father had been his former best friend. In the present the same man tries not only to discredit Henry Knight systematically - he also tries to drive him into insanity.

Under the influence of a powerful deleriant drug Sherlock is confronted with his biggest fear. A foreshadowing of another supressed trauma burried in his past?

image

SERIES THREE - EPISODE TWO:   THE SIGN OF THREE

image

Jonathan Small lost his younger brother during a military operation under the command of Major James Sholto. Driven by the wish for revenge Small spares no efforts to kill Sholto. He doesn’t only develope a very clever and detailed plan to achieve his goal - Small even carries out a rehearsal and almost kills a random victim to test the reliability of his murderous plan of revenge.

Is this the foreshadowing of another longtime game of bitter revenge? What has happened in the past that Jim Moriarty thinks Sherlock ows him a fall?

image————————————————————————————
THE FIRST AND THIRD EPISODES OF EACH SERIES

The most noticable difference to me is that in these stories almost everything seems to revolve around two topics. Information and locked things.

Information that is wanted but got stolen or lost, is hidden, forgotten, supressed, is top secret and often heavily protected or guarded on/in …

Locked rooms, guarded places or encoded devices such as flashdrives or phones. It is stowed away in mysterious vaults or even planted in heads.

Some people want to retrieve that information and others are trying desperately to prevent the retrieving.

And every time when information is finally found a really strange thing happens. Despite all the efforts - and some times even mortal danger - that finding, unlocking and retrieving of  information causes - it ends always the same way.

The information looses apparently it’s value. It gets thrown into water or fire because it isn’t wanted anymore. Phones are strippend bare of iis data before given back, super key-codes turn out to be nothing more than silly illusions, secret vaults never exist in real life, cupboards are bare and knowledge stored in human brains gets blown out with bullets to the head.

Summarized one could say the stories told in Sherlock BBC feature mainly:

looking for information in locked places or things
side characters whose fate could easily resemble that of main characters
and of curse the budding relationship between Sherlock and John

Again and again TPTB remind the audience that they have already told what kind of story they are presenting. They probably have - Series One DVD 2:

SPECIAL FEATURES OF SHERLOCK BBC:

UNLOCKING SHERLOCK    AND    THE GAY PILOT    A STUDY IN PINK

UNTIL  NOW  SHERLOCK  IS  STILL  SHERLOCKED  BUT  I'M  SURE  HE  WILL  UNLOCK  HIMSELF  AT  LAST   -  IN  HIS  OWN  SPECIAL  WAY  -  TO  FIND  LOVE  AND  HAPPINESS  WITH  JOHN

Awesome and concise analysis. I believe Mary is part of a long-time plan to “burn the heart” out of Sherlock, either by herself, if she’s really Moriarty, or my Jim Moriarty (if she is more Moran). But it’s interesting that this might be because of something Sherlock did in the past, some trauma he repressed ala Hounds.
