This does read to me like the real deal–a genuine tjlc’er that was at the screening and was crushed, not only by the lack of Johnlock in the episode but at the cold response of Moffat and Gatiss to the questions about it at the Q&A.

The ending feels like a solid ending. I don’t believe they cut anything from the end. There’s some great cinematography!
BUT there is a scene just before that which you expect to be something…but it kinda isn’t…and I feel like that could have been edited a certain way? Or the dialogue could have been different? Or the reactions were cut?
It’s hard to say. It works as it is…but that scene does strike me as odd…I don’t feel like it was needed? Which makes me wonder if the proper point of that scene has been cut.

I’ve been shipping Johnlock for 35 years. Not an epic friendship, but hands-on romance. Not just smouldering looks but kisses, sex, bodily fluids - real stuff.
I can ship it for 35 years more, but I really hoped I didn’t have to with this adaption.
I know it’s not a compensation - but BBC Sherlock sparked SOOOOOO much sooooo good gay / bi fanfic - I doubt this has been there before 2010 in this extent. So, something started. If this keeps going, something might happen. I’m not saying to be content with fan fic - but take it as a starting point for writers, film makers, scholars.
If we don’t get johnlock now, I’m pretty sure we’ll get it in the next ten years - explicit.
Not just with this lovely pairing… which makes me sad. They could have done something really important… we’ll be sure on Sunday if they truly fucked up. If they played on queerbaiting, the outfall will be massive. They’ll loose their fanbase - which kept the show going and gave it credibility. See where you end up without us. Perhaps that’s why they are not sure if they’ll get a 5th series. Rightfully so!
I’m sure after Sunday, if “no johnlock” is confirmed (and I believe that is, unfortunately, the case) here will be a TON of shitposts. It’s already starting. I’ll have my own. For now I will reblog.
