Now Delivering Bite Sized Fiction for Busy People

If you’re anything like me, you’re on your phone a lot. Not talking or even texting. But scrolling through social media, playing games, or reading. Yes, reading. While there are apps featuring full-length books (like my vast Kindle library waiting to be read), there are also a multitude of serial fiction apps out there where those same full-length stories are delivered in bite sized pieces for busy people. So, I’m happy to announce that some

Consider the Ant…and a Serial Story

This summer, our church is in the middle of a series on the book of Proverbs with the “foolproof” goal of gaining wisdom. And the message from a couple weeks ago to “consider the ant” is still niggling at the back of my brain. “Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.” (Proverbs 6:6-8 NIV) “Four

Why You Should Buy Direct From an Author if You Can

Where did you buy the last book you read? Chances are it was online (especially for all ebooks) or maybe you bought a print copy at a real bookstore. Then again, maybe you browsed a certain aisle at the grocery store or picked up a bargain used copy at a garage sale or thrift store. Or perhaps you were lucky enough to buy direct from the author at an event or book signing. As an

(Belated) Spring Cleaning Even Though It’s Summer

Our special needs Princess sure loves her calendars. So, she was the first to remind me that it’s officially Summer now. Of course, having hit 100 degrees several days already this June, I’m very aware of the hot weather. And yet, in a strange twist of COVID adaptations, the high school Spring Track season is just now headed into their state competition. ?Hence the seasonal confusion inside our household. ?However, over the past few weeks I’ve also found

How to Cool off when Life Heats up

Here in Colorado, we’re used to late-arriving springs. Or at least the reality that it truly could snow in May so no matter the temptation, you’d better hold off a bit on that garden. Which also means, we’re not quite acclimated yet when summer hits and life heats up. So, this year as temperatures have hit the 90s multiple days in a row in the first week of June…we were already looking for shade to

For Graduates: A Prayer for Wisdom and Discernment

(I wrote this for my niece on her 18th birthday as family gathered around to pray blessings upon her. She’s about to graduate from high school in a few weeks…and knowing the same words applied to others, I’m sharing it here.) Life is full of choices, both big and small, and every choice has consequences. So far, the big choices have been made for you: where to live, where to go to school, etc. But

Finding Home ~ Where Cinderella meets Goose Girl

Well, that was a cryptic title for a blog post… As you faithful readers probably already know, I am in the middle of writing a series of standalone stories featuring castles from across a wide variety of regions and eras. (I hope to release #4 and #5 this year!) Castles often make us think of Prince Charming and fairy tales and princesses. Or at least kind hearted commoners who are elevated to that royal status

Snowstorms and Sovereignty

This. This is my son’s car last Sunday morning. Look closely and you can see his windshield wipers (that he’d lifted so they wouldn’t freeze to the glass), one headlight, and part of a wheel. On Saturday evening, there were flakes falling…but only wet pavement. So while the weatherman had predicted such a storm, we were still surprised to see this when we awoke. And that was before it continued blizzarding all day Sunday leaving

Finding Home: Not your ordinary Regency Romance

I’m just a few chapters away from completing the first draft of Finding Home…and I cannot wait to share this story with you. ?Yes, I know some of you are not fans of historical fiction so just bear with me for a bit longer since the next story in the queue is contemporary. Followed by another contemporary after that. ?But in the meantime, the timeline of this current tale spans from 1803 to 1814, including an

Seize every moment…and change the world one heart at a time.

I first met Pastor Russ Frase when he moved his family from Texas to help plant a new satellite church in the Denver area in conjunction with the church body where my dad was a pastor. His daughter was a year older than me and we were later roommates on a ministry trip to Israel as teenagers. My earliest memories were of an often-smiling man with a hearty laugh that made his eyes almost crinkle
