Summer Seduction Blog Hop Day 3

There are two giveaways below. The top one for my blog, and the second one for the entire hop - don't forget to enter both, as well as visiting all the other participants for more summer seduction and chances to win.
Toeing the Line Teaser Part 3
Riley tilted her head to the side, amusement growing. “I’m not getting off on it, and you’re any better? You’ve never even fantasized about two women together?”
She already knew better. She’d described it for him over the phone at least half a dozen times. The memory of her voice, and the images she painted with words, made Zane’s dick perk up. “It’s different.”
“How?”
He provided the only answer he could think of—the truth. “Because one turns me on, and one doesn’t.”
She planted both feet on the ground and scooted her chair closer to his. She nudged his knees apart, rested her elbows on her legs, and traced a line along his inner thigh. “If it doesn’t do anything for you, what are you right now?”
As hard as he had ever been. He couldn’t completely keep his eyes off her chest and the fantastic view down the front of her shirt. He drew a finger along her collarbone, eliciting a sharp gasp. “I think that has more to do with you than your artwork.”
She pouted. “I thought you liked my drawing.”
He wanted a taste of those cherry-scented lips. “Your skill is borderline erotic, it’s true. The subject matter, not so much.”
Mischief danced behind her eyes, and she increased the pressure against the inside of his leg. “You’re telling me if you’ve got a women you’re wild about, and she wants you and another guy at the same time…”
He grimaced, not from the idea but because he was having a hard time focusing on anything but her touch and the gorgeous curves in front of him.
“Let me finish.” Her voice dropped, sultry and smooth. “You’re telling me you wouldn’t enjoy that at all? One of you between her legs, pounding away, and the other over her mouth, stroking himself, her tongue flicking out to caress his skin? That image doesn’t do anything for you?”
It was hard to tell at that point what was doing what. All he knew was he was going to need some sort of release before dinner. He was seconds from telling her exactly that if it meant she’d help. “I’d rather be alone between your legs, eating you out.”

Zane's time as Air Force intelligence has taught him a thing or two about keeping secrets. But when his best friend, Riley, finds out what kind of secrets he’s kept from her, their “Friends With Benefits” relationship won’t be what threatens their growing feelings for each other.
Riley tends to fall hard and fast for the guys she dates, and it never ends with the wedding bells she expects. Tired of the heartbreak and unsure if she even knows what love is, she swears off unreliable things like dating and trying to find that elusive happily-ever-after spark. Focusing on her art seems like the perfect distraction, except she’s missing the physical side of being half a couple. Fortunately, her best friend, Zane, is happy to model for her drawings and pin her down in the bedroom, with no expectations. Just fun.
Zane’s granddad raised him with the belief that people who bring joy to the world should be protected at all costs. For Zane, his best friend Riley is one of those people, and he definitely doesn't mind when making her happy involves helping her pursue her creative dream and some sport sex with a hint of kink. They can have fun, and he can keep her from falling for the next idiot who comes along while she searches for her Prince Charming.
Regardless of her resolution, as things heat up between them Riley finds herself falling again. She needs to decide if she’s in love with the idea of being in love, or if—despite Zane’s insistence that she deserves someone better—what she feels for him is the real thing. If she can’t learn to trust her heart and convince Zane he’s exactly what she needs, it will obliterate a lifelong friendship.

Toeing the Line Teaser Part 2
Zane forced his gaze to her face, not able to hold back his laughter at her reaction. “Sorry.”
“No, you’re not.” A smile was creeping onto Riley's face. She shook her head and tucked her legs under her, covering more with the shirt.
Not that the fake modesty did anything to stop the teasing images racing through his thoughts. “I kind of am.”
She tugged him to his feet, nodding to one of the chairs next to her. “Have a seat.”
He dropped onto the padded seat, trying to be subtle about adjusting himself again. A tiny smile still danced on her lips, and he didn’t know if it was because it was so obvious what he was trying to hide or because she was still half-lost in her drawing. She gave him one last glance before turning back to her work. “How’d the interview go?”
His arousal limped away at the single question. It had gone horribly. He hadn’t even made it past the screening process because he didn’t have any civilian experience or a degree to back up his claims. They hadn’t said so specifically, but he’d heard it in the interviewer’s voice over the phone, the way the conversation had all but died when he mentioned his only experience with network security had been overseas for the military. “Not as well as I had hoped.”
Her mouth twisted in a frown, and she gave him her full attention. “I’m sorry.”
He shrugged and pulled her sketchpad toward him, wanting to talk about anything else that would keep him from dwelling and ruining the night before it started. His eyes grew wide when he saw what she’d been working on. It was the character she’d said was based on him, with a wiry man kneeling in front of him, both of them naked. She hadn’t told him she was drawing yaoi – male-on-male graphic novel pornography. “You drew another guy sucking me off?”
She let out a short laugh. “Since when are you a prude? Besides, it’s just a drawing that happens to be built like you. I already told you that.”
He should be offended or something, but the tease on her full lips, the way the light glinted off what he knew was cherry lip gloss, and the fact she’d drawn him naked in a compromising position—even if it wasn’t one he agreed with—made his pulse race again. “I just don’t get it. Why do some girls get off on two pretty guys groping each other?”

Zane's time as Air Force intelligence has taught him a thing or two about keeping secrets. But when his best friend, Riley, finds out what kind of secrets he’s kept from her, their “Friends With Benefits” relationship won’t be what threatens their growing feelings for each other.

Toeing the Line Teaser Part 1
Zane pushed into the condo and locked the door behind himself. A movement out of the corner of his eye caught his attention, and he spun toward the kitchen. Riley was sitting at the table, sketchbook in front of her, earphones in place, and totally oblivious to the world. He followed the curve of her body, from the single foot on the floor up her bare leg to where her thigh rested on the foot tucked beneath her. She wore a button-down shirt with only the middle two buttons done up, and he wasn’t sure if she was wearing anything else. Her damp hair hung around her face, as though she’d just gotten out of the shower and forgotten to finish dressing.
She shifted her weight, and her shirt pulled open at the top, revealing a round, firm breast. His blood pressure kicked up a notch, and his cock throbbed in response. Her offer from the other night rushed back to him, taunting as it had so many times over the past few days. Damn, she looked good. Her cheeks were flushed with inspiration, and even though she was half-exposed she was still statuesque. Her focus made her that much more sexy.
He really shouldn’t be standing there staring. He adjusted his jeans, doing his best to hide his reaction, and knelt next to her. She hadn’t brought up the casual sex offer again. He’d have a hard time turning it down if she did, but it wasn’t his place to mention it. He’d do it to make her happy and keep her from making another Archer-like mistake with another guy for as long as possible. Not that he would complain about the benefits for him.
She was wearing more than just the shirt, though the plaid men’s boxers peeking out from underneath didn’t do anything to relieve the insistent throb below his waist. He pushed back the arousal and rested a hand on her arm.
She almost jumped out of the chair, eyes wide, before she finally focused on him. Her hand flew to her chest, tugging her shirt farther open and offering an amazing view of her sun-darkened skin. “Holy shit. You scared the hell out of me.”

Zane's time as Air Force intelligence has taught him a thing or two about keeping secrets. But when his best friend, Riley, finds out what kind of secrets he’s kept from her, their “Friends With Benefits” relationship won’t be what threatens their growing feelings for each other.

Cover Reveal: That Fatal Kiss - Mina Lobo
Mina Lobo is a brilliant, awesome, and talented writer, and she's releasing a book soon that I'm *dying* to get my God-loving fingers on. And she's letting me help reveal her cover today. But she says it much better than I do, so I'm going to turn the rest of this post over to her.
Mina Lobo has long held a passion for Greek mythology. The story of the goddess Persephone's marriage-by-kidnap to Hades, Lord of the Underworld, has particularly fascinated her, and thus came about Mina's debut novel, That Fatal Kiss. Coming September 2013, the revisionist tale features a fiery and noble heroine, a handsome and broody hero, and some heated, earth-shakin' lovin'!
Given Mina's self-professed neurotic nature, it took her and cover artist Steven Novak a few go-arounds before settling on the cover design for That Fatal Kiss. It had to be curiously compelling, slightly spooky, and yet super sexy—and so it is!
The Book:
Feared by mortals for his inexorable power, and loathed by his fellow Greek gods for the same, Hades rules the Underworld alone. A stark eternity looms before him until he discovers Persephone. Struck by the youthful goddess’ beauty, kindness, and spirit, he must have her. But Hades believes Persephone could never love him, and so he conspires with his powerful brother, Zeus, to take her by force.
Persephone too seeks a mate but her possessive mother, the goddess Demeter, frustrates her husband hunting. Then Hades abducts Persephone, tearing her away from the Upperworld she loves to reign with him in the dank depths below. Though outraged, Persephone cannot deny the desire ignited within her by the dark lord’s touch. And even as she hopes that Demeter will unearth her, Persephone aches to surrender to the heat in Hades’ immortal soul.
The Teaser:
The Author:
Mina Lobo has a lot of Scorpio action going on in her natal chart, which makes for a rather sybaritic and lust-driven Sagittarian. She aims for a wildly successful future as a writer of dark and whimsical romance while dodging the slings and arrows of her outrageous teenaged son, who's buggered off to college (hence the "Lite" in her Twitter handle, below). She enjoys comedic horror and alt rock, goth, & new wave music, as well as quality Belgian chocolates.
Mina invites you to keep abreast of updates regarding That Fatal Kiss, as well as the development of any new neuroses, by stalking her at her usual haunts:

“Enough,” Hades said, closing the distance between them. “I have taken you with your father’s consent, as custom allows. You are in my kingdom, under my rule, and if you have any care for your continued well-being, you will get into my bed. Now.” And with the removal of the pins that held together the black cloth about his waist, he stood naked before her.
The anger warming Persephone clashed with another fire that roared to life within her. She choked on a breath and turned her face from him. “Be warned; I will resist you with the full force of my being, through violent means, if necessary.”
His large, unyielding hands encircled the soft flesh of her upper arms as he said, “If you must. Though your surrender to me would prove more satisfying to us both.”

Meet Author TF Walsh
Today I get to introduce you to TF Walsh. If you missed my review of Cloaked in Fur yesterday, make sure to check it out. She's an amazing and fantastic author, and I'm glad she loaned me her time. So take a look at her answers to my five questions.
Allyson, thank you for having me today on your blog.
1 – Describe your ideal writing environment
This might sound strange, but it’s a café. There’s something about being around people who are going about their own business and chatting that inspires me to write. With a warm cup of tea and my headphones, not to mention the important fact that I won’t move from my seat in fear I’ll lose my table, I’m ready to write. And, the other people around don’t distract me one bit. Might have to do with the fact that I write to music.
2 – Spring or fall?
Fall, or rather Autumn as we call it here in Australia.
3 – What’s the biggest thing you’ve ever won?
I’ve never won anything major like a holiday or car (though my sister has), but I do win lots of small things all the time, like movies, a denim jacket, books, dinner plates.
4 – What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
Ha … Sorry, too many thoughts popped into my mind at once. But which one to pick that doesn’t make me sound too crazy. Okay, when I was in high school I was completely obsessed with horror movies and anything to do with monsters. (I still am) It just so happened that Bram Stoker’s Dracula came out at the movies, which I watched several times. After begging the cinema manager to give me one of their huge cardboard backdrops, there was the job of getting it home. Three friends and a small hatch-back car later, we decided we’d place the cardboard on the rooftop of the car and with each of us positioned near a window, we would hold it in place. We took off and just as quick the board ripped out of our grasp, landing on the empty road behind us. Lucky for us, it was non-peak time, plus we were in a small town.
Anyway, we tried again, but this time we traveled extremely slow, laughing the whole way home. We made it, surprisingly not pulled over by the cops. I then nailed the huge board to the wall behind my bed. It was only later that night that my parents
discovered the monstrosity in my bedroom, and let’s just say, they weren’t happy. After much convincing I got to keep it
5 – What question do you always wish someone would ask (you or someone else) in an interview, but no one ever does?
That’s a hard one. Now you’ve got me thinking. How about: What was it like growing up in Romania?
Still laughing at the Dracula story ^_^ And I'm going to have to have you back to do a blog post specifically on what it was like growing up in Romania - that sounds like very interesting.
So, dear readers, don't be shy. If you have any questions of your own for our guest, ask away!

Review: Cloaked in Fur, TF Walsh
Today an amazing novel is making its way into the world: Cloaked in Fur by TF Walsh. If you haven't read this book yet, you need to check it out now. I had the chance to sneak a peak early, and it's definiteley earning 5 stars from me. And make sure you come back tomorrow, because the author has agreed to stop by and chat with me and give you all a sneak peak at the person behind the wolfly romance ;-)

My Review
I love a strong heroine in a story who knows when it's appropriate to lean on her partner, and when she needs to stand on her own, and Daciana doesn't disappoint. From the very start of the book we can see she's not only strong and fierce, but torn between her two worlds.
As the story unfolds, things heat up both on Daciana's investigation, and with Connell. I found myself turning pages one after another, drawn forward by the action, suspence, and romance of this book.
This is a dark, compelling, and intense read, that paves its own path in the genre and strays away from worn and tired tropes. TF Walsh has done a brilliant job of drawing us into Daciana's world and holding us captive until the very last page.

Natasha Duncan-Drake: The Wonders of Romance
Today I'm hosting Natasha Duncan-Drake, a fantasic author, and letting her share her (very good) thoughts about Romance. Take it away, Tasha!
Hello and thanks to Allyson for hosting me on her blog today as part of the Blogger Book Fair. I hope everyone is enjoying the Fair so far.
Now I enjoy a good romance as well as the next person, but I do have to admit I prefer mine on the paranormal or the fantasy or the sci-fi side of things. I read to escape and I like to leave reality well behind. That's not to say I don't like contemporary romance as well, I do, but if you put two books in front of me I'm going to pick up the one with the werewolf on the front first :).
I've always been the same. When I was small I started with fairytales, then books like The Hobbit (I can trace my desire to write back to that book) and in my teens I found authors like David Eddings and Anne McCaffery. However, it wasn't really until my twenties I started reading romance. Fanfiction (fiction written by fans about fictional universes they do not own, e.g. Harry Potter), slash to be precise (which means male/male fiction) started me off down that road and I do usually read gay romance.
When I write in the romance genre I usually also decide to write male/male or menage. I'm not exactly sure what attracts me to the genre because the love is just as deep in male/female as in male/male and the sex is just as spicy most of the time in both when it's erotica, it's just something I like to read and write.
I'm also a bit of a vampire addict. I tend to watch vampires more than I read them (last count I had 116 vampire films and 17 vampire TV shows on DVD) because I'm a picky reader and not a picky watcher (although there are some I own I will never watch a second time :)). Something you don't get much on film (unless you want to watch The Lair) is gay vampires. Luckily for me vampires are very popular in the romance genre which means there are some gay vampires in the fiction.
I do love a romance where there's some neck nibbling going on. That's why I write it as well. My series The Soul Reader Series is a romance over several books between a vampire, Michael, and John, a human who sells himself to vampires for blood and sex. There's a twist in there as well (revealed in the first book), but which I won't mention here because I don't want to spoil anyone. The series is a set of shorter books which are free (#1 and #3) and novellas which are bargain priced (#2) with more to follow soon. There is no way I'm stopping writing them, I'm having way too much fun with Michael and John.
As I mentioned I also love fantasy and sci-fi. Give me dragons or space ships and I'm a very happy camper. I enjoy fiction that takes the characters out of what I consider the norm. I write and read slash fanfiction in the Harry Potter universe, for example, because although the romance in the books was sweet, it wasn't who I wanted to see together. A good romance in space is also wonderful and I will ship Han/Leia until my dying day :).
This rather explains my other erotic romance series (which only consists of one book at the moment, but the second is almost ready :)). This series is called The Dark Reflections Series and is all about Tristan, an actor, who is either going insane or is transported to an alternative dimension where the movies he's staring in are real. These films just happen to contain superheroes and supervillains so Tristan isn't really equipped to deal with it all. Poor Tristan, I do enjoy placing characters in situations they have absolutely no way of coping with :).
So those are the sort of romances I enjoyed reading. What are your favourite romance sub-genres? Are any of you vampire fans too?
The Soul Reader Series
John McElroy knows that at best he can be called a male escort and at worst a whore. He sells his blood to vampire clients and it's a full service industry; what the client wants the clients gets whether it be sex or just a meal. John survives using the acting skills he picked up in his old life before he knew some people came with fangs. He keeps his emotions remote, but then he meets Michael Cooper, a vampire who changes everything.

Me, Myself and I
FREETristan is an actor and he plays a supervillain in the movies. At least he thought he did, but then he has an accident and he wakes up surrounded by the world of the films. Now he has to figure out if he's hallucinating, if somehow the movies are real and he's been transplanted to another world or if he is actually Devon, a supervillain having a psychotic break. Whatever the answer: it's frighteningly crazy.
"Me, Myself and I" is a sci-fi novelette (~15.5Kwds), with a heavy side of male/male romance.
This is the first story in the Dark Reflections Series, the second title will follow soon.

About the Author: Tasha started writing as a pre-teen and has never stopped. She used to be a software engineer and database designer before she decided to follow her dream to be a writer full time. With her twin sister she created Wittegen Press, a small e-Book press for publishing genre fiction. Her books include novels in the contemporary fantasy, crime and horror genres as well as many short stories and novelettes in every genre from sci-fi to romance. When she's not writing she's usually reading, watching vampire movies, baking or polishing her Photoshop skills.

Blogger Book Fair: Meet M. Pax
Today I have the spectacular pleasure of hosting M Pax on my blog. I think a lot of my readers may know her better than I do, and I can see why they hang with her. She's been a blast to get to know. She's been kind enough to answer some questions, she's got one of her own for you, and at the end of it all, she's giving away some books. So...off we go!
Describe your ideal working environment
Jonathan Rhys Meyers standing on one side and Spartacus on the other, handing me tea and pens. All while floating around the Milky Way, exploring nebula and star clusters.
In reality... At my PC with the house quiet. I still have the tea, but I make it myself.
Whew - sign me up for that first one. I'll take the other as a runner up prize, but my expectations are pretty high now. Speaking of ideal environments...
Spring or Fall?
Spring means the observatory is opening soon. I docent as a star guide there every summer and by spring I’m looking forward to getting back out under the stars.
Fall means the hot is over. Thank goodness. My life gets quieter. I get more writing done.
Love them both.
I'm a fan of both as well, and right now I'll take whichever one can get here quicker :-)
Tell us, what's the biggest thing you've ever won?
Book Bub gave me a free ad at the end of June. It was like winning the lottery, and it keeps on giving. It’s made me do the happy dance everyday since.
Nice! I can see how that would be happy dance invoking!
What's the craziest thing you've ever done? (Besides happy dancing non-stop for three weeks ;-)
I moved to NYC with a one-way plane ticket, two suitcases, and $500 in my pocket. The city was home for three years. Those were some wild times. I don’t regret a second of it.
Wow. Just wow. Aweseome :-D
Okay, last one, so think hard...
What question do you always wish someone would ask in an interview, but no one ever does?
Not only for me, but from others, I’d like to hear what three moments changed their life most.
For me: 1) Meeting the Husband Unit. My life went on a different trajectory from that moment on. 2) The day my mother said, “Go write me something,” on the phone. Four books and counting now, Mom. 3) Moving to Central Oregon. The majesty of the wilderness makes me feel small and frees me to be who I want to be.
I agree, dear readers, what three moments changed your life the most?
The Renaissance of Hetty Locklear By M. Pax is on sale now for just 99 cents!
The journey into adulthood is stranger than she expects.
Graduation from community college isn’t the magic elixir Hetty Locklear counts on for becoming an adult. Her parents, who work the Renaissance fair circuit, insist she spend part of the summer with them. Hetty doubts pretending to live in the Middle Ages will help her find her way.
To make it worse, an entity haunts her at her dead-end job, warning her of a dangerous man she doesn’t know. The ghost leads her to a lover who has a lot of secrets. He pulls her farther into peril and into a strange, hidden world of genetic experimentation.
New Adult Science Fiction Fantasy.

M. Pax is author of the sci-fi series, The Backworlds, and the new adult science fiction fantasy The Renaissance of Hetty Locklear. A Browncoat and SG fan, she’s also slightly obsessed with Jane Austen. In the summers she docents as a star guide at Pine Mountain Observatory where the other astronomers now believe she has the most extensive collection of moon photos in existence. No fear, there will be more next summer. She lives in stunning Central Oregon with the Husband Unit and two lovely, spoiled cats.

The Hot Summer Romance Giveaway

A Kindle FireA $50 Amazon gift cardDetails on how to enter are at the bottom of my post ^_^
I'm sharing something new. I have a snippet from my upcoming release Toeing the Line . This is the next book in the Bits & Bytes series, and it will be out on August 19.

Zane held the cue up in frustration. “Are you going to show me how to do this right or not?”
Riley let out a mock sigh. “Fine.” Moving next to him again, she positioned his left hand properly. She rested her right arm against his, chest leaning against his back. She pressed her cheek against his bicep, helping him line up the cue. “I’d go on about angle and force and all that, but for me, it’s just instinct and relaxing.” She pulled his arm back and helped him take the shot.
The balls scattered again, three more sliding into pockets. He had no idea what he’d just done. All he knew was how incredible she felt pressed against him. He dropped the cue but didn’t pull away. “You’ve gotten better.”
“I still tool around with it occasionally.” Her hand lingered on his.
He stepped back, and she slid into the empty space, sandwiching herself between him and the table. Her blue eyes searched his face.
He should move. Put some distance between them. Her heat held him close.
“Is this okay?” Her question was soft in the din of the bar. Her hands slid up his arms, teasing him through the long sleeves of his shirt.
Was it? The pulse below his waist was screaming “yes,” but the few faint snatches of reason left in his brain reminded him not to go down that path with Riley. She deserved better.
“Because,”—she shifted her weight when he didn’t answer, her entire frame rubbing against him—“I was thinking about our conversation the other day.”
The day where he’d insulted her to the point where she hadn’t talked to him for several after? Why hadn’t he pulled away yet? Right. Sexy woman holding him captive without trying. “Oh?”
She draped her arms around his neck, fingers interlocking in back. “Do you really think the cyber stuff was a mistake?”
He swallowed. How the hell was he supposed to answer that? “I never said that.”
She caught her bottom lip between her teeth. “You implied it.”
He forced the gears in his brain to unstick, to push past her soft scent, her gentle curves, her palms against his skin. “Neither one of us wants to get attached. I figured dwelling on it was destructive to our friendship.”
The corner of her mouth pulled up in a mischievous smile. She trailed one hand down the chain around his neck, grasping his dog tags and tugging lightly. “I never said anything about getting attached.”
The same argument Jen had made, but somehow, instead, coming from the amazing creature in front of him. His thoughts stumbled, abandoning him. “I don’t ... I mean...”
She pulled him even closer, lips hovering centimeters from his, the sharp tang of cherry obliterating reason. “Tell me you’re not interested, and I’ll never mention it again. No hurt feelings.”
Being able to run his hands over her body. Experiencing moans in person that had driven him wild over the phone. No strings with him meant less of a chance of her falling for the next doorknob that came along. He found his voice. “What about sex ruining friendship?”
She hesitated, but her confidence flooded back quickly. “I promise it’s just sex, and so do you. I trust you, so if you say it, I’ll believe you.”
Zane’s time in the Air Force doing electronic surveillance has taught him a thing or two about keeping secrets. But when his best friend, Riley, finds out what he’s kept from her, their “with benefits” relationship won’t be the thing that threatens their growing feelings for each other.
If you'd like to read about Riley's identical twin, Kenzie, before Toeing the Line releases next month, make sure to check out Conflict of Interest.
