New Adult Author Mara Valderran

Seventeen-year-old Zelene doesn't believe in magic or prophecies. When she's told she is part of the prophecy foretelling five powerful girls bringing peace to the war-torn worlds, she scoffs. The idea of other dimensions layered on top of the world she lives in is almost as ludicrous as the idea that she might be able to save them. After she is attacked by magic-wielding assassins, she finds she can't argue with reality.

As their enemies strike, the girls are taken back to their world and discover the ties binding them together. Rhaya has always had an uncanny knack for reading people, but can’t seem to unravel the mystery tying her to Isauria, the new friend she bonded with instantly. For years, Isauria has been dreaming of Terrena, a girl living her life on the run in a magical world ripped apart by the tragedies of war, completely unaware that she is psychically linked to the world she was born in.

Zelene views them all with a distrustful eye, familial bonds or no, and can think of a place or two she’d like to shove the crown she supposedly inherited. When she learns that her long-lost twin Ariana has been captured by the rebels, Zelene’s attitude changes. She doesn’t know how she is supposed to go against an army of magic-wielding rebels when her own ability to manipulate the elements is still locked within her. But can she trust the elders to rescue Ariana when it seems their medieval politics are what brought about the war in the first place? With all that is at stake, the answer becomes clear to Zelene.

Screw the worlds. She’s getting her sister back.

Mara Valderran has been coming up with stories pretty almost since she could talk, often commandeering her brother's G.I. Joes to play out her fictional tales alongside her Barbies. Once she hit adolescence and realized playing with dolls wasn't cool anymore, she started putting her ideas to paper. And she hasn’t stopped since.

Mara has worn many different artistic hats throughout her life. She has dabbled in screenwriting, plucked guitars and basses, toyed with singing, retired from acting, and drawn some pretty mean stick figures in her time. However, writing books seems to fit her best as she finds nothing more fulfilling than creating worlds and characters she can lose herself in.

Mara lives in the south with her husband and demanding cat. When she’s not writing, you can find her reading, playing video games, or spending time at her favorite local coffee shop.

New Adult Sleepover Weekend

What an amazing time I had at the New Adult Sleepover Weekend... I mean, seriously, more fun than I've had in a long time. This is long, so grab your glass of wine and enjoy reading about my ridiculous time...

Thursday     First thing Thursday morning, I finished packing what was left into my rented mini-van (that's right, this girl got the mommy-mobile) and drove up one exit to pick up Jen Duffey, who flew in to ATL so we could ride together to Savannah. Once we had our Dunkin Donuts, we were on the road. If you ever get the chance to drive through ATL in morning traffic, DON'T DO IT! It was a nightmare, but we finally got to Savannah, checked into the hotel, and then relaxed. For like five minutes.

We met up with my personal BFF, Magan Vernon and her roomie, Sarra Cannon, both of whom I adore! We were all starving and hit up One Eyed Lizzy's, a quaint little place with delicious food! We talked shop about books, sales, and how one day, each of us wanted to be the number 1 bestselling author in the whole damn universe. Flash back to reality...

Magan, Jen, and I were all part of a giveaway basket for NASW, and naturally, we wanted ours to be a naughty basket, so we hopped in the minivan to go to Sunset Novelties, where we picked up some crazy awesome items for our basket, and maybe even a personal thing or two...

When we got back to the hotel, we met up with T.H. Snyder, one more of our roomies, and then decided we should get some food!! (Basically, we ate all weekend, but I digress). We walked up the hill to The Pirate's House, where we began out foray into the drinking world with Skull Crushers, complete with a souvineer mug! Once we were stuffed, okay, and maybe a little buzzed, we walked up the treacherous stairs to the gift shop, where we tried on hats and then bought best friends bracelets, because, obviously, that's what we had become over the span of six hours...

Picture These girls were so much fun! Magan even made friends with a nearby couple, asking them what was good to eat... Picture Picture Picture Picture     Okay, back to our epic night... Once we recouped at the hotel, again, I think it was for like five minutes, tops, we went out on the town. We were right on the riverfront, and there were a few bars we needed to visit, including Wet Willy's (thr dinks were good, but not up my alley), and then there was The Warehouse.

The Warehouse! We actually passed by this bar, in hopes of finding another. On our way by, we were invited inside by Andrew, a musician, and Dylan, the bouncer. We walked up a bit further and then decided to return to The Warehouse to see Andrew Gill play. He's very good!! In fact, we even got him to play a song for us topless!

Picture Obviously, I am not the best photographer when I've been drinking... Above is Andrew Gill! Below is Dylan! Picture Dylan totally looks kinda like one of our friends back home in Maine, which is why I made sure to take a good pic of him! :)

We also took some photos of us posing on a boat in a sandbox... The lovely Sarra has those, though, since my phone was dead at that point.

And finally, we decided to head home. But then we got a phone call from JL Fynn, saying that right after we left, Tyson from All American Rejects was at the bar! It was a disappointment, sure, but I think we were just a tad too drunk to care!

Picture Friday     After just a few hours of sleep (four, to be exact), Magan and I were wide awake and went downstairs for coffee. We chatted about the night before, and laughed about how we were the only people awake at 7am.

Once all our roomies were up, we went to the hotel restaurant for breakfast. Is there any better meal than hangover breakfast? I think not.

Friday was a flurry of things, including my tattoo, since I met some amazing people, authors, bloggers and readers, and after we had decided to have a mellow night, we hit the town (again).

Picture Picture Picture Picture Picture Picture Picture I was hungry. Don't judge me... Picture Saturday     So, onto the whole reason for our amazing weekend... THE SIGNING! Picture Saturday Night! Ferg did my tattoo. And Kate is like my soul mate. True Story. Picture Picture Picture Picture Picture Stella Price, our amazing event coordinator. :D

Well folks, that's it. I have many more photos, including sleeping roommate pics (I'm looking at you, Tyff, Jen, and Kristina!!), but those will be saved for another day.

I hope you enjoyed a peek into my fantastical weekend.

New Adult Author KaSonndra Leigh

“The Prelude is the part of a song that pulls you in, hypnotizing you with beauty.” After finishing design school six months ago, Erin Angelo left her tragic past behind in the States and started a new life in Milan, Italy. Burying the grief, silencing her demons, and living a life without any real attachments has worked well for her so far. But when Erin secures her first real job as a budding clothing designer, her controlled world is shaken to its core by the mysteriously sexy director of the local symphony.
Alek Dostov is a man who knows what he wants and how to get it. He's successful, hot, the son of a millionaire, and women all over the world flock to see one of his performances. For Alek, Erin represents the ultimate challenge: sexy, smart, and unaffected by his charms...or so she thinks. Just like Erin, Alek avoids attachments that leave him emotionally vulnerable. But unlike Erin, his pursuit of all things pleasurable is ruthless.
Knowing how wary they both are concerning any kind of committed relationship, Alek finds a way to pursue Erin, satisfying the intense attraction between them without sacrificing the freedom they both enjoy. Sometimes the deepest passion brings out the darkest emotions. And Erin finds herself completely unprepared for the forbidden world of the young maestro and his truths and even his secrets, as she struggles to deal with her own.
Music, passion, betrayal and forbidden love spun together in one of the most romantic cities in the world.

KaSonndra Leigh lives in the City of Alchemy and Medicine, North Carolina. She lives in an L-shaped house with her two sons (nicknamed the X-men), a yorkiepoo, a cat named Hercules, and a guinea pig called Achilles. She has created a secret library complete with fairies, Venetian plastered walls, a desk made out of clear blue glass, and a garden dedicated to her grandmother.

New Adult Author Tawdra Kandle

Sometimes revenge is your only choice. . . Julia worked for weeks planning the perfect surprise birthday party for her boyfriend, Liam, but that night, she was the one who got the biggest shock. He broke up with her in front of all their friends, humiliating her in the process. Clearly revenge was in order. The plan is simple. Make him jealous, win him back, and then crush his heart. Fair is fair. However, there is one little hiccup, and he has curly brown hair and dimples. Jesse is everything she wants. With him, she could almost forget her bruised heart. Almost. Julia has one choice: let Liam walk away after everything he did, or lose a chance at love in pursuit of payback.

Tawdra Kandle has been a writer since the invention of the pen. Her first published work appeared in Child's Life magazine when she was 13. After a brief, thirty year hiatus, she published a young adult quartet, The King Series. More recently, she has delved into contemporary romance and New Adult romance. Tawdra lives in central Florida with her husband and children, of both skin and fur types. And yes, she has purple hair.

News & Updates

As some of you may know, I traveled to Springfield, Missouri this past weekend to be present for a photo shoot with the talented Kelsey Keeton. The photo shoot was for the redesign of the Best Friends Forever series, which has already released the first four novellas.

After a lot of thought and discussion, I have decided to pull the novellas that are currently out in order to revamp them and re-release the first four in February. There are a lot of personal reasons for this, as well as career reasons, and although I'm sorry you all have to wait, I am hoping you think it's for the best! :D

In the meantime, you can look forward to the release of the third Broken novel, Broken Pieces, which will officially release on December 24th, 2013! Not too much longer to wait! I hope you're ready!

That's all, have a great day, and here's a teaser from my photoshoot this past weekend...
