*Blog Tour: Twisted Ties by K.A Robinson*

Hi Brats :) We are thrilled to be part of this tour - be sure to check out Michelle's review of Twisted Ties :)

Two years ago, Emma Preston walked away from Jesse Daniels. It is a decision she has regretted ever since. Plagued with the knowledge that Ally’s lies tore them apart, Emma enlists Jesse’s former best friend, Andy, to help her search for him.

When he left California, Jesse was determined to start over in West Virginia with his mother. Now, the past is determined to catch up with him—first, with the appearance of Ally, and when Emma and Andy come back into his life.

Just when Emma thinks she’s found Jesse, a dark secret and misunderstandings force them apart before they can even reconnect. Jesse is torn between his love for Emma and protecting his childhood friend, Ally. Ally has an agenda of her own, and she’s not about to let Emma get in her way—even if that means getting rid of her…permanently.

Can Emma and Jesse’s relationship survive all of their twisted ties?

OM effing G...where do I even start with this one?? I’m not sure what the heck just happened! I guess I will start by telling you I freaking LOVED Shattered Ties, the first book in this series! Like crazy, wanted to wrap it up and put in my pocket forever, loved it! Of course, this shouldn’t be a surprise since I love all of KA’s books but I somehow adored this one even more than the Torn series. It has everything I like in a book but best of all it is a high school romance with actual, toe curling, panty melting, HOT ass sex! Well not actual “ass” sex but you get what I mean ;) High school romances are my favorite...who doesn’t want to be 17 again and experiencing first time love and sexual experiences? I can tell you I do!
Ok, moving on. Twisted Ties is the sequel to Shattered Ties. It is pretty imperative that you read ST first in order to follow Twisted Ties. I will warn you that ST ends on a cliffy and you will want Twisted Ties all loaded and ready to go on your Kindle because you will definitely want to start it right away!
TT is the continued story of Jesse and Emma. Two star crossed lovers from opposite worlds who met in high school and quickly fell in love. Unfortunately, Emma has a horrible, snobby, social climbing, rich mother who would never approve of her dating a boy from a trailer park so they have to hide their relationship. Jesse….oh Jesse, you sweet, gorgeous, perfect boy. Jesse is a smart boy from the wrong side of  the tracks who finds himself going to a very elite high school on a scholarship where he meets Emma. They have a very dramatic, intense, hot and heavy relationship that ends suddenly as a result of a huge set up/misunderstanding and Jesse moves across the country with his mom, never to see Emma again. Ok...that is enough backstory. On to Twisted Ties…
TT picks up 2 years later in West Virginia. Emma can’t forget Jesse and has learned that he never really cheated on her. It was all a set up by one of his “friends”...someone I like to call psycho, warped, crazy, life ruining skank whore Ally. But I guess we can just call her Crazy Ally for short. Emma decides to throw all caution to the wind and moves across the country to attend West Virginia University in hopes that Jesse will be at the same college and they can reunite and rekindle their romance.
While she by a miracle, does in fact, find Jesse...she also finds out he is living with Crazy Ally and that she is knocked up with Jesse’s baby...or so she is lead to believe. Jesse, being the good and somewhat dumb guy that he is,bless his heart,  is trying to help out his friend but is being TOTALLY taken advantage of. There were times that I really wanted to smack Jesse in the head repeatedly and tell him to wise the hell up and see Ally for the bunny boiling, Fatal Attraction, psycho that she is but you know how guys are...it takes them forever to see what is right in front of their faces.
Crazy Ally is completely obsessed with Jesse and truly, delusionally thinks he would love her back if it wasn’t for Emma so she makes it her life’s mission to destroy Emma and get rid of her permanently. Meanwhile all Jesse cares about is getting Emma back regardless of Emma’s trepidation, which is due again to Crazy Ally…
“I don’t believe that. I agree that we’ve dealt with a lot, but that doesn’t mean that we should give up. I’ve always believed that if you want something, then you should go after it until it’s yours. I’m not giving up on you, Emma-not when I just got the chance to win you back. I spent the last two years without you, and it was horrible.”
At this point all I want is for Norman Bates’ crazy sister, Ally, to go away so Emma and Jesse can get back together and live happily ever after. And that does finally happen...for a while... before Ally comes back and ruins everything. Poor Emma...you won’t BELIEVE what she goes through! There were times reading it where I was like “WTF, is this really happening?!?!” I can’t say too much more without giving stuff away and I don’t do spoilers. I will warn you that you will not be able to put this book down so make sure you have cleared your schedule before you start reading. This entire series is now a favorite of mine and I would definitely recommend it. Twisted Ties is a 4.5 star must read so make sure you one click it today :)

Excerpt: I knew Andy had to work tonight, but I hoped he was at home by now. There was no way that I could go back to my dorm room and sit alonewhile all of this was going through my head. I was hanging on to my sanityby a thread, and I knew that if I was by myself while dealing with this, I’dlose it.I nearly cried in relief when I pulled into his apartment complexparking lot, and I saw his car sitting there. I didn’t have to be alone. Hewould help me. I ran across the lot, and in too much of a hurry to use theelevator, I sprinted up the stairs to his floor.Tears were streaming down my cheeks as I beat on his door. I prayedthat he hadn’t fallen asleep yet. I had a key to his apartment, but I hated touse it this late at night. I didn’t want him to think someone was trying tobreak in.The door opened, and Andy was standing there. He took one look atme and pulled me into his arms.“Emma, what’s wrong?” he asked.I was crying too hard to speak, so I shook my head.“Who’s that?” an unfamiliar female voice asked.

*Cover Reveal: Beware by Shanora Williams*

add-to-goodreads-button31

Synopsis Ace is bad. Very bad. After losing my brother, I know I should stay away. So why can’t I? He’s irresistible. He’s confident. He’s amazing… but he’s dangerous. He was there the night my brother was killed. He watched it all go down. I should stay away. The things I saw weren’t acceptable. They’re not even legal. I should want Ace as far away from me as possible—I should consider him a monster and a threat to my life—but something keeps drawing me back. Something keeps bringing me to him. Something is making me… weak for him. He’s warned me many times to stay away. He’s even threatened me. But I know, just as much as he does, that I won’t stay away.
I won’t until I get answers. But there’s one thing wrong with getting too many answers. It leads to lies. It leads to trouble. It leads to danger. But worst of all, it leads to me falling deeply and madly in love with him. I’ve gotta be out of my mind. Teaser Beware Teaser 2 Excerpt Footsteps start up the complex stairs. They’re heavy. Slow. I try to control my breathing but it’s hard. The room that was once my sanctuary – my get away—now feels like a trap. A prison. I can hardly breathe.Sealing my eyes, I listen as his footsteps get closer to my door until finally he stops. It’s quiet for a moment. I think he’s got his ear to the door, wondering what I’m doing. Then he bangs on the door and I gasp. I don’t get up, though. He can’t get in. The door is locked and the chain is on. I don’t think he’d be dumb enough to kick the door in, knowing I have neighbors. Good thing they’re nosey. They’ll come looking for the noise immediately.“London, I know you’re in there! Car’s in the parking lot.” His voice is no longer calm and casual. It’s angry and demanding. “Open the door.”I don’t say anything, but I do stand and hold the knife in front of me just in case. I slowly walk out of my bedroom and towards the living room.“Open it or I’ll kick it down. I don’t give a fuck who sees me.”I gulp and gasp at the same time, which causes me to burp. And it’s pretty loud. Loud enough for Ace to hear.Instantly, the door swings open and hits the wall with a loud thud. I scream as I fall on my side. When I look up, Ace is standing between the frames of his door, adjusting his tie. All I can make out is his shadow, but I can feel his eyes hard on me.Stepping inside, he shuts the door behind him coolly. I scramble away with the knife in my hand. When I get to my feet, I dash for my bedroom and grab the telephone. He chases after me, warning me not to do anything stupid.I dial 9, but I’m not given the chance to finish. He snatches the phone out of my hand and slams it down. I spin around, bringing the butcher knife in front of me again.Ace takes a quick step back, glaring down at the knife. Then, a slow smirk forms on his lips. The lips I hated I admired once.“I’ll cut you,” I threaten.“You won’t,” he says boldly.“I won’t?” I hiss, bringing the edge of the knife to his neck. “Don’t test me. I will.”He raises his hands in the air, shaking his head. “When’s the last time you sharpened this bad boy, huh? Three years ago? It’s as dull as fucking a nun in bed.”“I don’t give a shit! I can still cut you with it! Just… sit down!” I demand, circling him, knife still clutched in my hands and at his neck. “On the bed.”He frowns. “No.”“I don’t wanna hurt you, but if I have to I will!” I shout, voice wavering.“That’s the thing… you won’t.” His tone is even.I keep my tears back and my emotions behind me for now. I don’t want him to think I’m weak. I don’t want him to get away either. But deep inside I know I won’t hurt him. I won’t cut him. I’m too afraid to shed blood after seeing so much already. With a bored sigh, Ace snatches the knife out of my hand and tosses it out of my bedroom. It skids across the hard wood floors, causing a clanking noise that makes my ears ring. I gasp, and start to run after it, but he grabs my arm tight and shoves me against the nearest wall. It’s not a hard shove. Nor does it hurt. But I’m still afraid. As I tremble, he brings one of his large hands up and locks my face between his fingers. His eyes stare deeply into mine, his nostrils flared. From the slit of light filtering in through my window, he looks pissed. I know he’s going to kill me. I’m a witness.“Listen to me,” he grumbles. His warm breath spills down my chest, across my cleavage. “I told you I’m not going to hurt you.”“Why wouldn’t you?” I spit.“I won’t. I’m not the one that killed Jonah. They did.”Hearing Jonah’s name causes fiery tears to build in my eyes. “It’s your fault. I know it. Why wouldn’t they kill you, too? What were you doing there anyway? Why was Jonah there? Why did they kill him?” All of this is spilling out of me. I’m outraged. I’m pissed that Ace is still alive and my brother isn’t. I’m terrified. I’m… I’m a mess.“Listen to me!” he demands, releasing my face to lock his hands on my shoulders. “I don’t know why they killed Jonah, all right? I don’t know why they didn’t kill me. But you have to understand… it’s what we do. It’s what Jonah signed up for. It’s business, and we can’t help when shit gets bloody.”I process his words, give them some thought. “So… you’re the one that got him into that shit? What is it? What’d you promise him? I know Jonah, and I know he wouldn’t do something this bad without something in exchange.”“I didn’t promise him shit.” Ace runs one hand through his slick hair. “He knew what he was in for. He was money-hungry, just like everyone else. He saw a way to achieve it and he went for it. It was a mistake… him coming to Atlanta.”“How is that a mistake?” I demand. “I invited him. I graduated!”Ace tilts his chin to meet my eyes. His are dark, and if I’m not mistaken, watery. I’m not given the chance to figure it out completely because he blinks and just like that, he’s angry again. “Don’t go to the cops. It’ll only get you killed.”And with that, he releases me and walks out of my bedroom. I follow after him, grabbing his arm before he can get out the front door. “Killed by who? You?” I’m keeping my voice steady, but deep inside I’m scared out of my fucking mind. Teaser Beware Teaser 3 MeetTheAuthor AUTHOR BIO PIC FACEBOOK / GOODREADS / WEBSITE / TWITTER

Excerpt
Walker sat on one of the stage steps, his chin in his hand as he spoke to the screaming crowd. “I need a volunteer for this next part.” His head raised slowly, his eyes scanning the crowd.
Keri jumped up and down like a crazy person, waving her arms and screaming his name. I laughed at her antics and sat perfectly still, not wanting to bring any more unwanted attention to myself.
Another tap on my shoulder caused my irritation to bubble as I turned to what was sure to be that annoying overly made-up stupid girl again.
It wasn’t.
I came face-to-face with a giant of a man wearing all black and holding a walkie-talkie. Intimidated, I took a half step back and looked around for Keri.
“Come with me.” His tone implied a demand, not a request, and I suddenly wondered what I’d done wrong.
Who the hell was this guy? He’s not the boss of me. He’s not going to tell me to come with him and think I’ll just obey. I frowned and said quickly, “Uh. No, thanks.”
He flashed his VIP backstage pass in my face as if it were the only credential he needed. “Miss. It’s part of the show. Can you come with me, please? You’ll be onstage with Mr. Rhodes.”
Oh.
Well, shit.
I guess he could be the boss of me, after all.
I shot Keri a surprised look before I was quickly hauled off in the direction of an almost completely darkened backstage area. We walked through a black curtain before we were hit with lights and blaring music.
“I’m going to bring you onstage.”
“And then what?” I asked, suddenly nervous. Not to be around Walker Rhodes, but nervous at the thought of standing in front of thousands of screaming people with cell phones ready to record my every move.
I started to tremble. Afraid my legs wouldn’t hold me up any longer, I begged the security guy to help me out there. He smiled at me and gave me a little shove.
Thanks, you dick.
Next thing I knew, I was standing onstage, my face mere inches from Walker’s. Walker no-human-being-should-be-anywhere-near-this-gorgeous-in-real-life Rhodes.
J Sterling AboutTheAuthor I got fired from my last job.
It's true.

I know you're sitting there thinking, "Jenn, how could anyone in their right mind fire someone as amazing and awesome as you are???" And i'd love to give you a good reason, but the truth is... being This! Awesome! is clearly very scary to other less awesome people. :)

So I said screw them and started writing my first book. And you know what I realized? Writing books that mean something to me is a million times better than working my ass off for someone who doesn't really care about anything other than the bottom line.

My soul feels more satisfied.
My heart, more full.

So thank you for reading, loving and recommending the stories I write.
I think you're awesome- and not only am I not scared of other awesome people, I want them on my team!

*Release Day Blitz: Break Me by Amanda Heath*

Break Me Release Day Banner Synopsis “Wes, I don’t know what you want me to say here.” Royal’s voice is broken. Maybe he is broken. Maybe I broke him. Lord knows I’m broken myself.
“Don’t say anything.” I start off with. There are so many things I want to tell him. The one thing I want him to know, that I want him, I will never say aloud. “When push comes to shove, Royal, you’ll break me. I’d never be the same after you. I’d be a shell of this girl.”
His face pales but he doesn’t step away. Something I had planned on. His hands caress my face before he says, “You have that wrong, Wesley. You’ll be the one to break me.” Wesley Bridges was lost between the living and the dead. She was clinging to her boyfriend, who passed away unexpectedly. She was left with having no way to move on. Her best friends, Annabella and Pierce were to caught up to save her. Even her family turned a blind eye, not able to bare her grief.

Then one day, Royal Sanders walked into her life. Tall, dark and sinfully handsome but aren’t all the unattainable ones? At first it was nothing. She was asked to tutor him and found he’s different then even she thought. She even turned to Royal when things got too hard. And when she falls for him, she falls hard.

But Royal’s the enemy. A long drawn out hatred brews between her friends and Royal’s. That doesn’t seem important to her, considering she’s still in love with her dead boyfriend. A love triangle between life and death…who will win?

His handsome face is relaxed in sleep, so I lean in and press my lips against his. My hand rises up and pushes through his silkily locks. When his tongue snakes out and licks at my closed ones, I groan, not realizing he was awake. “That’s a way to wake a guy up, Duchess.” He whispers his voice low and full of promise. His tongue enters my mouth when I open my mouth to reply. It duals with mine, seeking dominance and I let him have it.He breaks away from me, breathing hard and shallow. Something in his eyes sets my entire body on fire. Before I know it I’m taking my t-shirt off, leaving me only in my pink bra and jeans. “Fuck,” he groans closing his eyes and throwing his head back against the headboard. His hands glide up and down my sides and I smile a secret smile, getting off on the power. When those hands stop at the back of my bra, I know things are about to get real. I should say something to stop it, but I don’t. After the talk we had earlier, I’m about to throw my heart at Royal and never look back. Though I’m not quite there yet.My bra comes off quickly and that’s when he opens his eyes, taking in my exposed breasts. He doesn’t speak, but he does lift his head to suck on nipple into his mouth. Now my eyes close and I open my legs to straddle his hips. He’s already hard and I grind against it, loving the friction. When he switches to the other nipple, flicking it hard with his tongue, I decide that’s not my favorite part of sex.“You taste like heaven.” He murmurs, my nip still in his mouth.“You feel like heaven,” I gasp, my hips grinding even harder. His start to lift up making the sensation even better. Okay that’s my favorite part.

Unconditional Teaser 2

EXCERPT:

A noise comes. A shadow rears up in the dark. I scream.

“What the hell?”

Panic claws my chest and I scream again, reaching blindly for something to fight him off. Squatters and junkies and all kinds of dangerous men fill my mind as my hand closes around something solid on the hall table and I swing with everything I’ve got.

“Goddamn!” The figure reels back, stumbling against the wall.

“Get away from me!” I cry, shaking. My heart is racing so fast I think it might beat right out of my chest. I grip the object in my hand tighter. “Don’t touch me!”

“I’m not trying to touch you!” the man roars, angry. “I just want to know what you’re doing breaking into my goddamn house!”

The light flips on. I reel back, blinded by the sudden glare, but as the daze clears and my eyes flick back into focus, I see the man in front of me for the first time.

I stop breathing.

He’s half-naked, that’s the first thing I notice. Jesus, his body is like nothing I’ve ever seen before: tanned bronze and chiseled like a Greek god, but not like the guys I’ve dated, all waxed and pumped from hours at a fancy gym. This guy is real, raw, all muscle and power, with a web of dark tattoos snaking over the bicep of his right arm. I feel a flush roll through me, hot with prickling awareness, but I can’t look away as I take in his tight, sculpted six-pack abs, and the trail of dark hair leading down to the waistband of his navy briefs…

“Don’t mind me, darlin’,” his voice comes. “Any time you’re done looking…”

I snap my eyes up to his face, blushing. Then I look at him for real and it all clicks into place.

“Oh.” My heart clenches in my chest as I recognize him for the first time. “It’s you.”

Unshaven face. Messy bronzed bed-head hair. And a pair of stormy ocean-blue eyes scowling at me like I’m the last person on earth he wants to see.

And, I can say, the feeling is entirely mutual.

“It’s me,” Garrett Sawyer agrees in a low, Southern drawl. He strides over and snatches the vase from my hand, setting it down on the table with a thud. “Now, you want to tell me what the hell you’re doing creeping around my house at three in the goddamn morning?”

I catch my breath, the flush of desire mingling with irritation. I nearly had a heart attack trying to get in here, and he’s the one with an attitude?

“It’s not your house,” I snap, my heart still racing. “It’s mine.”

“Well, if you wanna get technical, it belongs to Emerson,” Garrett corrects me, glaring. “But I’m the only one here with permission to stay.”

“Why do you need a place?” I try to pull myself together, smoothing back my hair and yanking down my dress. “Don’t you live above that dirty old bar?”

“Nah.” Garrett paces closer, his full lips stretching into a lazy grin. “Usually I just go straight out back and roll around in the filth like a pig.”

His smile is heart-stopping, a whiskey smile, honeyed and dangerous and just inches away from me now. Despite my irritation, I feel another wave of heat roll through me, automatically rising to his nearness like a magnet spinning off its axis to find true north.

Damn.

I ignore the kick of my pulse and fold my arms across my chest. “You’re disgusting,” I retort, ignoring the shiver in my bloodstream.

“And you’re trespassing.” His gaze hungrily drifts over my body. I glance down, and see the rip has torn the skirt to the top of my thigh. I blush, yanking it shut.

“Look, I’m tired, OK?” I exclaim, self-conscious. “I’ve been driving all night, I didn’t know anyone would be here. I just need a place to sleep. Can we save all your territorial bullshit for the morning?”

Garrett raises an eyebrow at me, like he’s amused. I brace myself for more arguing, but instead, he gives a casual shrug. “Why not?”

I exhale with relief. “I’ve got a suitcase out front,” I tell him.

He smirks. “Then you better go get it. Spare bedroom upstairs, I’m sure you know the way.”

My mouth drops open, but before I can complain, there’s a noise from above us.

“Garrett?” a female voice sounds, and then a woman appears at the top of the stairs. She’s wearing an oversized T-shirt that barely skims her tanned thighs, her dark hair mussed up, makeup smudged around her eyes. “What’s going on?”

“Nothing, honey,” Garrett calls up to her. “Go back to sleep.”

“But it’s cold.” The woman pouts suggestively. “I need you to come keep me warm.”

Real classy.

I roll my eyes, watching as Garrett flashes her one of his easy grins. “I’ll be right up, sugar. And then I want my T-shirt back.”

“Come and get it.” The woman giggles, then disappears back to the bedroom, leaving us alone in the foyer again.

“Honey?” I challenge him. “Sugar? Why not just admit you don’t even know her name?”

Garrett smirks at me. “Sure I do. It’s Lauren, or Laurie. Or maybe it was Lorna…” He frowns, pretending to think, and even though I know he’s just doing it to get a rise out of me, I can’t help but make a dismissive snort.

“Must be true love.”

Garrett narrows his eyes. “What I do with my life is none of your goddamn business. So why don’t you quit bitching and let me get back to sleep.”

I blink, thrown by the sudden change in his tone. “I’m not the one standing around giving me a hard time,” I retort. “I’d be asleep by now if you hadn’t come prowling around, trying to play hero.”

“Whatever you say, darlin’.” Garrett turns away and starts climbing the stairs. Then he pauses, turning back to me with a wicked grin, and says, “But you might want to wear earplugs. Lorna likes it loud.

when i break teaser

Ok first let me start by saying EFF YOU, Kendall Ryan!! How dare you leave me hanging like that!! And I only say that because I LOVED this story so much that I need more…. like, NOW!! Nothing makes me happier than when I start reading a book, having no expectations, and I end up really loving it! That is exactly what happened when I read When I Break :)
When I Break is the story of Knox (ADORE this name, like I wanna have another baby just so I can name him that adore it!) and McKenna.
Knox...oh where do I start with Knox? A. He is an incredibly hot, alpha bad boyB. He has the ability to melt panties without even touching youC. He also has an amazingly sweet and caring side that will make melt your heart
Knox has been dealt a really challenging hand in life and is currently under a lot of pressure. He is guardian to his 3 younger brothers and is really trying to make a good life for them and set a good example. Unfortunately, this responsibility comes with a ton of stress and the only way Knox knows how to relieve this stress is to go out, get drunk and pick up random women to have sex with. Due to a DUI, he has to see a therapist who recommends he attend Sex Addicts Anonymous meetings. Knox really doesn’t feel these meetings will help him but he goes as he feels he doesn’t have a choice.
Enter Miss McKenna. She is the newly appointed leader of this group but she has a secret. McKenna is a 21-year-old virgin. Yep, that’s right...she is leading a sex addict group but has never actually done the deed herself. How is that for irony? McKenna really wants to lose her virginity but just hasn’t found the right guy. Of course she is immediately drawn to Knox the minute she lays eyes on him.
“I’d appreciated men before, but this man possessed a magnetism that made it impossible for me to look away. My heart thundered in my chest while I stared, mouth open, watching him.”
McKenna is also struggling with other issues including her parents dying in a terrible car accident, which she feels responsible for. This guilt has lead her to become an overachiever when it comes to volunteering and helping others.
Knox is just as taken by McKenna as she is with him, especially when he discovers she has a submissive side, which is just how he likes his women. However, he also realizes that he can’t have a relationship with her.
“I was even sicker and more fucked up than she knew. I’d own her. But as fun as it might be, I wouldn’t let myself break her. She was my sexual addiction counselor. She was off-limits.”
McKenna also acknowledges that a relationship between them would be unethical but she is so drawn to him she just can’t help herself. She quickly finds herself immersed in his life and not only falls for him, but for his younger brothers as well. McKenna desperately wants Knox to want her and to want a relationship with her but she is also afraid of his addiction and him slipping back into his old habits. Unbeknownst to McKenna, Knox feels the same way and is working really hard to change his ways. Luckily, he and McKenna eventually give into their attraction for one another and when they do...look out!
I have to tell you there is no actual sex in this book. Not the full-fledged, penetration kind. I will, however, tell you that there is some of the most erotic, most holy shit, melt your panties off, non-sex you will ever read. I am talking H.O.T….HOT! If this is what Kendall can do without actual sex, I can’t WAIT to see what she does when they go for home plate! I am fanning myself just thinking about it!

Can Knox and McKenna get past all of their issues and realize they are meant for each other? Will Knox be able to overcome his addiction? Will McKenna ever get over her guilt and get on with her life? Will they ever DO IT???!!!?? I can’t tell you because I don’t know! What I do know is that I give When I Break 4.5 stars and I will be waiting ANXIOUSLY for When I Surrender so I can find out!

Amazon: Barnes & Noble:
Book Description: In Present Perfect, Brad Johnson was sexy, cocky, rich and a complete Smurff**ker. He could afford anything he wanted and could charm any girl he set his eyes on. Everything was laid out in front of him, all for the taking except the one thing he craved and needed. A tragic event forces him to reevaluate his life. When he tries to change, will the people in his life let him move on from his past or will they constantly hold him to the life altering mistakes he’s made?

Mabry Darnell is intelligent, ambitious, beautiful, and sassy. Secrets from her past haunt the present causing her to question her actions in order to shield her heart and protect her life.

From the moment Brad and Mabry met, their connection was strong, intense, and electrifying. Both knew they had found the one person who could satisfy what the other ached for. When their pasts collide with their present, will it prevent them from having a future together or will love be strong enough to conquer their demons?

First of all you need to know that I adored Present Perfect. It was AMAZING and was one of my top 5 reads for all of 2013. I LOVED Noah and thought Brad was pretty much a scumbag although I do have to admit I found him to be quite delicious even if he was an asshole of epic proportions. So when I heard that Alison was writing a book about Brad...I was skeptical, to say the least. I thought there was NO way she was going to be able to make people love the “Smurffucker”...not a chance. Well, I am here to say...I was WRONG!! Not only did she make me love him, but she made me love him even MORE than Noah! That’s right, I said it...more than Noah! Just take that in for a minute before you keep reading. Ok, you ready for more?
Past Imperfect is the follow up to Present Perfect. It can be read alone,  if you have been living in Siberia and have by some strange chance not read Present Perfect, but I would recommend reading PP before you read PI so you get the back story on Brad. Just my opinion :) This is the story of Brad Johnson and Mabry Darnell,

two lawyers who work together and have more “baggage” than all the baggage carousels at the Orlando airport combined! I am talking these two people put the D in DAMAGED. They both have things they have done or have had happen to them in their pasts that have made them the hot mess they are today. Well apparently hot messes attract because these two have found each other but are at totally different places as to what they want or what theythink they want in life.

Brad has lead a very privileged life and is used to getting whatever he wants with the exception of the one thing he wants the most...the love and support of his parents. I’m pretty sure a crack whore and a pimp would be better parents than his sorry excuse for parents have been. As a result of his upbringing, Brad doesn’t let himself get close to anyone so he doesn’t risk getting hurt.  He is incredibly hot and he knows it! Brad never has any problems getting girls and he uses them strictly for his pleasure, not caring how many hearts he breaks in the process. This all changes when one of Brad’s conquests kills herself partly because of his rejection. This is a huge wake up call for him and he realizes how badly he needs to change his life and his treatment of women.
Mabry has had a very rough childhood as well. When she was about 10, her mother, who had been amazing up until that point, fell into a deep depression and later kills herself. Mabry is the one to discover her and it really scars her for life. Unfortunately, Mabry’s father is completely distraught and weak, leaving Mabry to fend for herself. Not knowing how to express her feelings and having no one to talk to, Mabry turns to self harm and sex to make herself feel better.
“Sex was another way to numb myself from the hurt in my life. It helped a little, but at some point during the act my mind drifted back to the reason why I was lying under the guy.”
She too wants nothing to do with a relationship and sees men and sex as a way to lose herself and to not have to feel, at least for a little while. Then she meets Brad…

When Brad and Mabry first get  together, they are in totally different places. Mabry just wants a distraction from the pain in her life but Brad is looking for more and quickly falls in love with her. When he actually tells her that he loves her, she fights it at first even though she knows she has feelings for him too. And I mean she fights it HARD!!
“I need distance. I was stupid to have thought I could have something casual with him seeing as how he affects me, mind, body and soul. There’s something between us, a deep connection, as if we were supposed to find each other in life.”
Poor Brad :( I was really heartbroken for him at this point but I have to give the boy props for his determination. He was NOT taking no for an answer! Luckily, he is finally able to win her over with his charm and the “smile”...no girl can resist the smile ;) And did I mention how freaking HOT the sex is??? When these two get it on, it will steam up your Kindle and have you looking for some fresh panties...I was fanning myself and squirming quite a few times. They will also make you laugh out loud with their banter.
“I see the way you squirm in your chair when I walk by you.” Brad“I have hemorrhoids. The condition runs in my family.” Mabry
Bahahahahah!! They are hysterical! Once Mabry finally gives in and accepts her feelings, you would think at this point it would be all good...hearts and flowers...but sadly, no. A surprise connection from their past comes back to haunt Brad and leaves Mabry unsure of their future. She is also spiralling out of control at this point with her self harm and is in danger of causing herself irreparable damage. Will these two be able to overcome their issues so they can be together and live happily ever after?

I won’t say much more because I don’t do spoilers. I will, however,  say that this is a huge 5 star MUST read for me! The epilogue alone makes the entire book worth reading...BEST.EPI.EVER. Like ever, ever!! Make sure you one click this incredible book today so you too can fall in love with the Smurffucker <3
